Staff is friendly and location is good. However, rooms are very small, rooms are NOT sound proof at all, you can hear neighbours walking from the 2nd floor with the floors cracking, very disappointing for the price ....

I stayed at this hotel for what was supposed to be two nights, however after the first night I had to change plans and find alternative accommodation. Pros: the staff; very friendly and tried their best considering all things… Cons: I was initially given room 102, I dropped by stuff off and left for a bit to find food, on the return when I started to settle in I was turned off by the condition and cleanliness of the room; the couch left everything to be desired and had red marks on it; looked extra sketchy and had some odours. I had to put a towel to sit down and have dinner. I checked the bathroom and the tiles in the shower and bathtub were filled with orange grime. I let the staff know and the front desk lady was very apologetic and said they were all sold out. About ten mins later she came back and said I would be upgraded to another room. She helped me move to 207 while I finished eating. Upon arrival, it was more of the same, and although “cleaner” this room stank of old cigarette smell. This was clearly a smoking room at some point. By this time it was very late and I was tired and called my losses. The smell was strong and gross, I honestly barely slept hence why I passed on the second night there. Upon checkout the second lady at the front was also very amicable. If you are a frequent traveller beware; this is NOT a boutique hotel, management should be ashamed to advertise it as so; this is a rundown motel with Airbnb cleaning standards at best, not hotel standards. I would not recommend this place at all, and it’s not cheap either.

Overall not a bad hotel. Definitely getting a little run down but from our experience it was good for 2 nights. Definitely low frills and an annoying location from downtown Toronto things to do but that’s to be expected for the lesser price. For the almost $300 price we paid per night it definitely was underwhelming. Pros: nice neighborhood, pretty comfy beds, clean, great reception staff Cons: rooms didn’t feel sound proofed at all, inadequate parking, slightly run down, location if you are planning to go downtown

Not overly fancy or new but clean rooms and a comfy bed. Not a 5 star by any means but convenient parking and good options with having 3 beds in a room when traveling with kids.

We booked a one bedroom suite, so it had a queen bed in the bedroom and a pull out couch in the living area. The rooms were clean, and the staff was very accommodating (anything you need, you call Front Desk and they'll bring it to you). They could use a few things to improve - better towels (they were quite old and rough), blinds for the windows (they had only one set of black out curtains for the windows, but they didn't have the desired effect during the night as there was a good deal of light on the surrounding streets) and another mirror other than the one in the bathroom, so you don't have to wait for the bathroom to get ready. The other thing that we found a bit challenging was to get to the bathroom with the pull out couch open as it took the entire space and only left a few inches to squeeze through to get there (and we seemed to always tangle in the bed sheets 😄).

The staff was friendly and the room was adequate for our needs and clean except for the Tim Bit on the rug by the bed. There is no restaurant or any food or drink available on site, we had brought our own. The parking is horrendous and not really a parking lot, may fit 4 compact cars. The staff asked me to move to make room for more vehicles. (there were 4 of us in SUVs). The desk clerk directed me where to park and told I was in a good spot, not on the sidewalk. Apparently the Bylaw Officer didn’t agree, so I got a $62 ticket notice in the mail that said I was late paying. I didn’t get a ticket on the car so not sure how I’m late. If you don’t need parking, the hotel itself was fine for our short stay. I was told to send my ticket to this place and they would “promptly” pay it. I have called and sent emails, last time was Jan 24th. It is now March 5th and my ticket has still not been paid. I can’t renew my plates until this is done’ Signed a very unhappy customer! **Update**. My ticket has been paid! It took a few phone calls and emails but I’m thankful to have it finally done!

I stayed in this hotel for 3 night and it was the worst place i ever stayed. Full of ants and insects , dirty and very cheap service besides very expensive.

The hotel is clean and the room size is ok BUT Do not book the junior suite if you're more than two people. False advertising, convertible sofa is a joke: Inflatable mattress would be way more confortable than this "bed" even for kids, we slept on the floor. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

The Willowdale Hotel had everything we needed for a short one night stay. Was relieved to find a place available at such short notice. Staff were friendly and professional. The establishment is a little dated, you can tell especially in the older wall trims, panels, and tiles. No complaints though!

Booked a 2 night, 3 day stay for Spring Break in April and was looking for a hotel just outside downtown Toronto. This was a perfect spot! The suite had plenty of space for 2 people and had a kitchenette with plenty of storage. Room was clean, except the bathroom walls were in need of a good wipe down. There is also a train station that's about a 10 minute walk which is very convenient! Neighborhood is overall quiet and has the basic necessity shopping. Parking is decent with about 5-6 spaces. Hotel is secure 24 hours a day with friendly staff. Definitely recommend for a short stay!

This is a cute hotel. A little dated, but they are signs they are fixing it up slowly. It is close to everything and the parking is enough to accommodate 6 vehicles, including vans. We got a family sized room for 5 and it was comfortable and spacious enough.

Very clean and comfortable boutique hotel in North York. The suite has a kitchenette and the best hotel mattress I’ve ever slept on plus parking was free. Will definitely be back.

I really like the cleanness of the hotel, it comes with nice kitchen at the side. Reception and housekeeper ladies are super nice. Pretty decent location to north town of Toronto. Would recommend 10/10

We had come for medical reasons and had issues due to that and couldn’t make our stay. We immediately let the hotel know well before checkin time. We spoke to the original booking site and they bent over backwards trying to help us see if we could get any resolution but the final say was up to the hotel. The original front desk man I spoke with in person was helpful but the following person I spoke with on the phone was not. We tried to discuss this with the manager who was unavailable and chose not to call us back even after 24 hrs of waiting for their call. Very poor customer service and not a hotel I would recommend to anyone else because of this unfortunately. Even if we couldn’t have gotten the resolution we wanted, the customer service by this hotel was extremely disappointing.

This is a quaint boutique hotel within walking distance of the Sheppard-Yonge subway station in North York. There are lots of neat stores & restaurants in the area, especially Korean. There are several very nice parks for walks. Hotel pluses: The staff were, friendly, terrific & accommodating. Each room has spa robes, Keurig coffee makers, a microwave & fridge in a separate sitting area from the bedroom. Good Wi-Fi. Minuses: no elevator to the second floor. Cheap toilet paper. They push you to book on line but we did not get the room we thought we were booking. We will probably go back.

I would not only recommend this place but I will be back for sure. Everything here is perfect. The receptionist super friendly and the quality of the towels, the linen, the confort. I am WOWed. I was surprised at how big the kitchen is.

An excellent small boutique hotel with kitchen and living room and door to bedroom. I liked that they had real glasses! Very clean and good value with free parking. Receptionist was charming.

My guest recently stayed at Willowdale and had an amazing experience. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view. The hotel's amenities were impressive too, with a great gym and a delicious breakfast buffet. The location was perfect, right in the heart of north york and close to everything. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

My wife and I had a wedding to attend. Drove up from Maryland. The location was great, right outside a quiet neighborhood with parking right on the side. The room was OK. Like I said, we had a wedding, and there was only one mirror in the room. Also, I found a couple of noticeable nasty stains on the towels and bed sheets. But service was definitely A1. They were patient and welcoming.

It was lovely. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and thoughtfully set up. Price was more than reasonable. It is obvious the owner cares about providing a good service and cares about the little details. Thanks. I'll be back.

Just stayed at the Willowdale for two nights, and it was amazing. The room was clean and had a mini fridge, sink, and dishes. Parking was easy to find and further the location was great- close to lots of parks, shopping and great restaurants. Can’t say enough good things about this place, and will definitely be staying here again.

The hotel claimed to have free parking but received two parking tickets on the same day they said they would take care of them just received notice a month later from the city of Toronto that we all two parking tickets and parking fees for not receiving it on time this is not cool we would have taken care of the tickets ourselves if we knew they were not going to pay them now it's just a big run around I will never stay at this place again

Cheap, comfortable, basic and friendly. Has some slightly odd touches but they can certainly be overlooked for the price.

Hotel is clean and it has what you need, but the walls are paper thin. Very annoying to hear everything that is going on above you. Would not stay again solely because of this.

We booked Willowdale because it was near where we needed to be. Staff were very accommodating and professional. A good experience and we’d book there again.

Bed bugs, roaches, and my bed was filthy. Staff was unprofessional and the room wasn’t up to standard. Never again will I be coming here.

My wife and I had a Valentine's Day staycation within the city, and this boutique hotel definitely exceeded our expectations. From the beginning of our experience to the end of our trip, we were blown away by the kindness and professionalism of all the staff. This hotel is also in the perfect location; there are so many food options nearby and it is close by to two subway stations (Sheppard Station and Bayview Station). We were also able to order ubereats and have it delivered directly to the room. The room was super clean. There was immaculate attention and adherence to covid 19 protocols. We felt completely safe. We will be coming back again no doubt!

Excellent front-desk service. They were able to accommodate my 2 requests to extend my stay. I liked the room set-up: separate sitting room from the bedroom. Wifi went down on my first day (which was a problem as I was WFHotel), but when I went down to the front desk and asked them to re-start the router, wifi came back on. That didn’t happen again, thank goodness! Neighbourhood is very quiet. No room cleaning bec of current COVID protocols but cleaning lady was very helpful in giving me additional tea (and showing me how the coffeemaker works), water and toiletries. I enjoyed my stay - thank you very much!

Great location. Rooms are clean, disinfected. The good thing is surrounded by residential area where there is no such crowd. Friendly and gentle staff. Would recommend and soon visit again.

My son and I stayed here for one night while in town for a series of medical appointments. For the most part it was clean and comfortable and it felt safe during covid. The front desk staff was polite. The downside was that it was completely inaccessible. The parking was impossibly tiny with no disabled parking and if it had been any busier I have no idea how we would have gotten in and out - it was a near impossible squeeze at half capacity. The doors didn't have automatic buttons and there is no elevator to the second floor (fortunately we had a first floor room). Would not stay again purely due to the fact that it is not disability friendly and while we managed this time, it will not be suitable for our family in the future.

Stayed here for the hotel’s proximity to an appt, but more specifically because reviewers overwhelmingly approved of the cleanliness. However, the latter wouldn’t meet my pre-COVID standards & certainly did not live up to the hotel’s own promises. Garbage behind toilet & looked like the baseboards hadn’t been wiped in years; grungy, dirty shower curtain; hair in cutlery tray; garbage in & beneath sofa bed; dirty floors & carpet. Sofa bed mattress shockingly thin - an air mattress or sleeping bag would have been more comfortable. The parking “lot” is a parking *lane*, so better hope your parking skills are v proficient if you hope to navigate it. Very noisy if the room above you is occupied: sounded like the USA gymnastics team was above us.

Great place to stay. Was great getting the slippers. Wish I had known about the housecoat. Would love to have it. Would definitely stay there again.
