The matcha anmitsu is served in a tiny cup and the quantity they serve you is LESS than 200 ml of ice cream (I measured 200 ml of water, poured it in the cup and checked), no more than that. As you can see, the cornflakes fill up the bottom with air, and there are large chunks of jelly that are inside it. Those plain tasting jellies are large cubes take up most of the space in the container. It is decorated to look really cute, and the flavour of the matcha is good, but otherwise it is NOT worth the $11 they charge you for it. After eating the jellies, mochi, red beans, and strawberry, I was left with about 100 ml of ice cream. Whar a rip off! I do NOT recommend this place as the prices are sky high for a very small portion of dessert. I just went through other reviews and noticed THEY HAVE CUT BACK THE SUNDAE/ PARAFAIT/ ANMITSU CUP SIZE BY HALF AND INCREASED THEIR PRICES DRASTICALLY! Go to Tsujiri downtown for the same good quality matcha ice cream with much more quantity.

Imo the portion isn't that great. It tastes ok though. The hojicha latte float is literally 1 full cup of ice. If you put the straw in the ice, it will actually tip over the icecream. Pretty bad experience.

Came here to try the matcha soft serve based on the high reviews but disappointed with how little there was given the steep price. It wasn’t even a full cup of soft serve, the middle was empty.

At the north east corner of North York and Yonge, Saryo is paired with the sister ramen restaurant with one store front. They offer a wide selection of matcha desserts, drinks and cake on the menu. We decided to try the Anitmu soft serve. It comes with red beans in syrup sauce, coconut jelly, rice balls and some strawberries as well. This is the strong matcha type and my family loves that. The rice balls are chewy and that texture is great! Jelly was just ok but I wished they are half sized so they mix better with the melted ice cream. Overall, it is a good dessert.

As a person who recently went on a vacation in Japan, I can say their matcha is authentic and of similar taste. It's not too sweet, just the right amount with that bold matcha flavour. Highly recommend the Matcha Latte Float.

Have wanted to try this place for so long! Another one on the list checked off! Unfortunately, when I went about a couple months ago, only ice cream was available for my friend and no real toppings, which was a little disappointing. However, I also wanted to try their chestnut cakes for awhile too! That did not disappoint at all. I loved the chestnut flavour as it was strong but wasn’t overpowering! The cream was nice and light, it thick enough to get some good textures. As well, the whipped cream was light and airy and complemented the entire cake. Definitely recommend the cake, the hojicha soft serve was nice, but a little grainy. However, at the time it might not have been the season. I do still wanna try the other flavours of soft serve and hope that it will change my mind! I gave this a four star rating, mostly for the cake and the service I received which was great! The girl was apologetic and wasn’t her fault that the items were out of stock. Will try again and maybe at the new location at yorkdale as this one is a little inconvenient without parking and hope the products are more available with it now being in season! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!

The matcha was super high quality and you could really taste the authenticity! I forget what these little balls were called but they were awesome! They kind of just melt on your tongue when you bit them but they gave the ice cream some texture which was cool! Would 100% come back

The parfait was good with a great matcha flavour. The red bean, strawberries and mochi paired with the matcha ice cream well. However, it was definitely not worth the high price of around $11 after tax.

I have visited this place at least 5-6 times in the past and today found out it was open again! I was very happy!!! I wanted to have the Matcha soft serve. I ordered the Amitsu sundae which did not disappoint. It really cooled me down on this hot, sweltering day!! I believe this place opened after Tsujiri’s nearby, another Japanese cafe place. I found the dessert sundae items at Tsujiri’s similar to Saryo’s. However, I like the Matcha soft serve more at Saryo’s because it is less sweet and more flavourful. The price point is also better. I plan to visit again soon with a friend and try their Roasted Brown Rice version also. I had a sampling from a friend last time and liked it. Less sweet than Matcha flavour and more mild in flavour.

Best match ice cream in Toronto. Period. Their decor might not be as cool as Tsujiri’s but there match ice cream rocks!! If you are in downtown Toronto it’s worth a $3.25 ticket to come up and grab this. Look at the area and go back within 2 hours for a free trip back to your original station using presto card.

The hojicha lattes at this café are delicious! The unique flavours and ingredients are very tasty, and there are a wide variety of menu options to choose from. Service is very efficient and friendly, and the staff are happy to suggest items as well. Takeout is available through ordering at the counter and mobile ordering. Definitely worth checking out!

They have a wide range of pastries, ice creams, and drinks. The cream puffs were a bit stale but the matcha ice cream and matcha tiramisu was good. This cafe is located inside Konjiki and if you show your receipt from Konjiki ramen you can get 15% off your desserts. I also liked how you are able to order the desserts and eat it at the ramen shop.

Authentic Japanese desserts! We ordered the Hojicha latte and Honicha Anmitu bowl. Quite frankly, they taste better together. The latte was a bit too sweet so we had one bite of the anmitu and then a sip of the latte, that’s really how you should enjoy it. Balance the sweetness of the latte and the bitter tea taste of the icecream- best of both worlds. They serve floats here so perhaps this would a better choice if you don’t like sweet lattes. Another recommendation is to get there original cream puffs. It reminds me of the HK pineapple buns but with creamy filling inside. Absolute divine. Pros: they take credit here Cons: not much space to really sit down and enjoy your desserts/drinks. Much of the space is occupied by the ramen restaurant.

Got the matcha float here. Loved that the taste of matcha was rich, intense and not overly sweet. I just wish the cup was bigger because the ice cream could barely sit up in it. They also filled half the cup with ice.... And at $12, it was criminally overpriced. Bloom and Tsujiri have matcha sundaes for less than $10.

Enjoyable experience right next to the ramen place (I believe same ownership). Tried various Japanese dessert items they were all amazing. Both the matcha and hojicha (toasted tea flavour) were intensely flavourful which is how it’s supposed to be rather than just sugary.

I really like their matcha food/desserts. It's very rich! The hojicha was really nice too, I don't think it's too sweet! However, was a bit disappointed that most of the food on their menu is not available. We went to this store two days in a row, still not much but just cream puffs and soft ice cream. The waffle bowl was not available either. However, the cream puffs are nice, even the strawberry-flavoured is nice too, not too heavy. Btw, the prices on their website don't match the one in store. Everything is around $2 more! UPDATE: now the store is a bit overpriced! And there are always shortage of food! It's really confusing indeed. They charge more yet still less items!

Saryo Cafe is a Japanese dessert shop connected to Konijiki Ramen. It's a very convenient spot to stop in and grab some dessert after dinner (especially if you had ramen in the same shop!). The staff was nice and there were a few seats by the entrance, but it is very limited seating so my friends and I had to awkwardly stand as the seats were taken and it was cold outside. We moved when people were coming in and out, but it did feel like we were in the way and there wasn't anywhere else to go. What I got: Matcha soft serve Final Thoughts: The waffle cone was yummy and the matcha flavour was okay but I wished the soft serve was creamier. It's nice to have as an option if you're in the area, but I found the soft serve a bit icy and it fell a tad short of my expectations.

Hojicha soft serve has a strong Hojicha taste. A bit too sweet for me. The problem is it doesn’t look like the photo and the portion is small. There is a hole in the middle. Not worth the price. Service is alright.

The matcha ice cream was so good! But the small rice cake was hard and disappointing. Similarly, the cream puffs weren't good because the cream was frozen and the texture was weird.

The matcha is authentic. It's strong and not too sweet. They also have a solid selection of desserts.

Arrived 30 minutes before it closed, so most of the bakery items were already sold out. I ordered a cream puff, and it was okay, a little stale and the cream tasted more like butter than cream. Understandable, given that they were about to close, but not worth the $6.

The place to go to for a fill of hojicha in both latte and ice cream form. The bouquet cake was a little weird- like a salt cheese cake mouse with very little cake and jam inside. Not sure how I feel about it. Not a lot of seating. Maybe 10 bar spots max. Connected to the konjiki ramen restaurant.

Been to Konjiki many times, but have never actually tried the cafe. Today we finally decided to try their soft serve as Konjiki had the promotion of a 15% discount with a ramen receipt. The matcha soft serve was delightful, the flavour was definitely there: the bitterness of matcha, the aroma, and sweetness, are all on point. Would definitely recommend.

Interesting that it's right inside a ramen spot. I tried the Hojicha Anmitsu. It was very smooth and caramelly tasting. The jellies and adzuki were great accompaniments with the Hojicha. I also tried the Sakura Blueberry Cake and it had a bit of a cheesecake texture but it was also very delicate in taste and very delicious. It was a little pricey for the amount but very much a good experience.

Quality matcha powder from Japan. Came-in for a matcha latte with matcha ice cream on top. SUPER DELICIOUS but not too sweet which is perfect! Very friendly staff, but instead of one cup (as listed on the menu) I got two cups (liquid matcha in one) and ice cream with ice underneath in a separate cup. Wish I had a pic to show, that was interesting. Next time would prefer my item to be served in one piece :)

Delicious Japanese dessert shop! They have a good range of pastries along with the beverages. I got a hojicha latte float and a chestnut cake. I liked the cake very much, it was fluffy with good mont blanc taste. Their hojicha latte float wasn’t the best I had, but it was still nice. I could see myself visiting here again :)

They only have soft serve now since it's out of season but it was still good.

Wish they offered more flavours. They only have matcha and houijan (?) which is also green tea. I personally like green tea flavoured stuff but if you are not a fan then there is not much there for you in the dessert department. I havent tried their ramen yet though.

Loved their hojicha ice cream / drink combo. I like that it’s roasted so it’s lower in caffeine so you can sleep after, at night! I’ve had it before too as a stand-alone ice cream with mochi(?) and the mochi tasted really good too! Overall, I am glad they have this flavour here! Everything is distanced and there is a clear plastic wall between you and the cashier when paying.

Had houjicha soft serve. It has crystallised and tastes mostly of the sugar in it. The flavour was not a freshly made flavour. Too bad, liked it before that’s why went to have it. Not going again.

Dessert here wasn’t very good. The hojicha latte was creamy but tasted very fishy. It was also 5$ for a small cup. The matcha brownie had a good texture but I couldn’t taste the matcha.
