Food: Nothing memorable. Portion size was small for $18. Of the things we ordered, the spicy cream seafood udon was probably the best. Other dishes were either too salty or overly rich. Service: The most horrendous part of the experience was the (lack of) service. We arrived during a fairly quiet time but no one asked for our drink and food order for 30 mins. Throughout the meal, no one came by to check on us at all. When we were done with our meal, it took us another 15 mins to flag someone down for the bill. On top of that, they are not able to split the bill for party size above 6 people, which caused us to wait an additional 5 mins. Overall, one of the worst service experience. Even if the food was blessed by the Gods, it would not be worth it.

Probably one of my fave restaurants of all time. I've tried almost every item on the menu, and I'd say my least favourite was the spicy pork udon but it seems like they don't offer it anymore. Everything else is good but the salmon cream udon is a bit fishy if you aren't a fan of fish. Definitely recommend the corn kaki-age. Overall service is great, prices are good (soju is a bit overpriced tho), and the atmosphere is comfortable.

Great atmosphere, great vibe, it can be rather busy at times and they don't accept reservations. If you're interested then be prepared to wait if you're coming during dinner time. They also have a 60 or 90minute dine-in time because they're so busy, so I'd keep that in mind. If you want less of a wait time? Go during the day! Also get the corn fritters. They're so good! The tuna is also good as well.

I got the mentaiko cream udon. The food was just ok. For $17, I'm expecting to get at least some sort of veggie in this dish. In addition, the portion size was so small in comparison to the cost. The squid and salmon tataki appetizers was nothing special. I would not recommend wasting your money here and would not come back again.

Iโ€™ve been to MeNami many times before. The portions are small for the price but the food is usually good. Today the udon soup was too salty but the karaage is always good. The service was the real problem for me. Our waitress, Selena was impolite and unhelpful. She came by multiple times before our entire party arrived to see if we were ready to order and once we all arrived and ordered, she was barely present. I would understand if the restaurant was really busy but there were multiple empty tables on the patio and indoors. When we asked for a fork, she gave us a dirty metal fork with some greens on it still. We asked for a new fork and she rudely handed us a wrapped plastic fork. They also automatically charge 18% tip on tables 5+, no wonder the waitress didnโ€™t care about providing good service. Iโ€™m really disappointed as I have never had a bad experience here before.

Had a great time at this place! Good lively atmosphere and really friendly staff. Came here just for drinks with some friends and they were nice enough to give us a snack on the house. Would definitely come back. The house draft sake was pretty good value and would recommend. Also looks like a popular and great spot for first dates.

Iโ€™ve always noticed lots of traffic and positive reviews here and I see why everyone loves it. The Chicken Kara-Age was the best Iโ€™ve had and came out piping hot. The Black Cashu Don had an incredible balance of flavours and textures which was our favourite. The Udon noodles had a fantastic texture and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Fun and modern interior decor, good music and great vibes. Thanks MeNami โ˜บ๏ธ

Came for dinner with 3 friends in early August, we ordered: Mentaiko Cream Udon Salmon Cream Udon Curry Udon with Pork Cutlet Corn Kaki-Age Crispy King Prawn Okonomiyaki Service was ok. All the food especially the cream udons were amazing! Many other udon places do not serve cream udons so this was a unique must try! The curry udon was also really good and pork cutlet very crispy. I've never tried Corn Kaki-Age anywhere else so don't have anything to compare to and it's so good! King prawns were big and very tender yet springy to the bite. Okonomiyaki was very flavourful with tons of ingredients in it, not full of flour or fills like other places sometimes do. Can't wait to come back for more!

Came here a week or two ago on reservation for my sister's birthday (she absolutely adores MeNami). All of us usually get the oven baked udon, but on this occasion my dad tried one of the seafood options (it was one with mussels I can't recall the exact name). It turned out my dad wasn't the biggest fan of it, and after a few bites he asked the manager for a new dish. The manager was kind, professional and understanding, immediately replacing the dish with a delicious oven baked, he even voided the charge for the seafood dish. That aside, all the meals were absolutely delicious, I took mine home and enjoyed the rest of it later that night! Yummy food; great service, MeNami is 100% a worthwhile visit that sets the standard HIGH. My family and I will continue to eat at this restaurant for the foreseeable future.

The food portions are decent and prices are unbeatable! Loved my drink! Service was pretty slooowww! ๐ŸŒ but they were okay. Definitely recommend this place. The music was decent and ambiance is fun for small groups of friends and couples for sure. I wouldnโ€™t suggest it for more than 4 people.

Came here for their Asialicious promotion, which was a 3 course meal. I got the smoked salmon tapas - I'm grateful they gave 4pc instead of 3. Main: spicy creme udon, which was good! Dessert: blueberry creme brulee, which was decent. Drink: Pina colada, was alright - the top was kinda weird..tasted like salted citrus cheese cream? My only issue is service was kinda lacking. Waited to be seated even though there was maybe 4 other people dining. Was never served water...even though they had so many jugs on the counter. Waited for our bill because they were all hiding in the corner of the restaurant probably eating lunch (which I understand the need for a break). But just the lack of attentiveness was not worth the experience. Bill came out to $100 for 2 people.

One of the best dining experiences I have had in a while. MeNami's menu is filled with the classic udon choices, along with some fun and creative adaptions. We ordered the Okonomiyaki pancake, Potato Cream Udon, and the Curry Rice with Pork Cutlet. I LOVED the Potato Cream Udon, I was beyond words. The cream on top was surprisingly light and so delicious! It was truly an unforgettable menu item. I also ordered the Gun's & Roses cocktail, which the bar staff set aflame for a brief moment when it hits the table. I love little cocktail theatrics like that. It was such a good dinner, I will for sure be returning.

Have heard wonderful things about this place and am glad I finally got a chance to visit! I came here with a friend and ordered the ricotta fries, chicken karaage, and seafood yaki udon (as well as a rare find of Delirium Tremens on tap!). The fries were made well and felt surprisingly light with the ricotta and veggies. I also appreciated the generosity of cheese and overall portion. The chicken karaage was fried beautifully and the pieces of chicken were large as well. Although the seafood yaki udon is fried and is mayonnaise based, which I'm not typically a fan of, it was delightfully tasty and well balanced. Not once did I ever find it too be too heavy, and I was able to enjoy seafood with every bite. Most importantly, the udon itself had a wonderful softness that I found surprising compared to the denser and chewier noodles I'm used to being given. All in all, a great experience and hope to be back again soon!

The udon is quite chewy and the portion is okay but the broth has too much msg for me. Tempura udon included one shrimp and three pieces of vegetables. Seafood udon has a bit more variety with mussels, shrimp and calamari. Pork cutlets with rice is the best of all. Service is courteous though 18% tips compulsory for table of 6.

Lovely atmosphere with good food. I especially loved the Fresh Fried Calamari, very crispy and airy! The udons were delicious as well. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Would come back to try the other dishes.

Came here for the udon. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was well seasoned. We came for lunch time but I would recommend the thicker sauced udon to be more of a dinner meal as it sits heavier

This place offers some of the best Japanese food I've ever tasted. Everything was fresh, delicious, and offered a wide variety to explore. I managed to try all their appetizers, and each one was delightful. My personal favorite was the curry with rice. If you're craving Japanese cuisine, this place is a definite must-try.

We had the most wonderful date here. The sake floats are incredible, and the curry udon was to die for. My favourite dish, however, was the torched salmon.

I bought the tonkatsu but it was somewhat underwhelming and the sauce that it comes with did not fit as well as it couldโ€™ve. There Uddon was good but the broth is nothing special.

Food selection is pretty limited I guess it is more for a bar like liquor restaurant. However, server is super attentive. Had a dinner here in December 2021, price is above average and I think there is room for improvement regarding the taste, selection and quality of food.

Pretty good food but service was somewhat slow at start but food came out at a good time. Everything tasted good except the Piรฑa Colada (they add whipped cream which is kinda odd too), and the Seafood Yaki Udon was alright. Aside from that everything was great.

The quality is excellent. The batter of their fried food is fantastic and their cheese udon is amazing. Service is polite and friendly but they are busy so there might have longer wait times. Keep in mind, they're busy because the food IS good.

Summerlicious visit! Good value for all the delicious food. Ordered the torched salmon tataki, seafood yaki udon, and the blueberry creme brulee. It was filling and my tummy was very satisfied. Food came promptly, service was friendly. My favourite was the seafood yaki udon as it was very flavourful. Loved the atmosphere! Great to grab a casual bite or a meal.

Unbelievable food. I tried almost everything on the menu and can't believe how good each piece was. Totally unique experience. Its one thing to have a single item be out of this world but for everything to be out of this world? Highly recommend getting as much on the menu as possible. The portion sizes are perfect. Go with friends order a bunch and try it all. You wont be disappointed. My criticisms would be I wish the servers were a little more attentive, but they were young and the place was decently busy. There is also nothing gluten free on this menu except the salad. More dessert options would be nice as well. But we didn't stop talking about how good the food was for hours after. What a great start to the year.

Honestly hands down great food. Great service, always greet and take your order with a smile. Food was fresh and fast and just the right portion. Prices are fair. Just one star off in atmosphere because everytime the front door opened the whole place got cold.

Thai milk tea tastes refreshing and creamy. It's my favorite drink. Spicy seafood Udon is not as spicy as I thought, but the seafood is very fresh. Potato Udon this is a unique dish worth travelling for. Finally, I recommend CORN KAKI. It tastes delicious.

The food was pretty good. Though the Katsu wasn't as crispy as I expected but the udon texture was pretty top notch~ they were pretty generous with their sake flights too. I had a very delicious plum sake flight with shokubai and nama nama and ume sake. Yummy!

We went on a weeknight, so it wasn't overcrowded. The ambience was nice-- dark and trendy. I was actually impressed with the liquor they had available. We got a bar seat, and being able to watch the bartender make drinks was enjoyable. The food itself was delicious. Japanese/Japanese-fusion. Totally satisfied with my meal. Even dishes like the karaage tasted unique, which I really appreciate. Would definitely recommend Menami to anyone in the mood for udon and drinks!

Ate out on the patio and had a wonderful time. Staff and owner were super sweet, and food came out almost immediately (especially the appetizers). We shared okonomiyaki, shrimp, salad, 2 udon (cheese and curry) and pork belly rice. Everything was delicious. Will visit again!!

Always a great place with very good food at decent prices. My favorite is the fried corn which is a nice change from the usual karaage I would get as an appetizer. The curry udon is also always a good pick with thick firm noodles with tempura. My friend got the seafood udon which reminded me of an okonomiyaki in noodle form which is to say, delicious!

  • 5/5 S5 t. 2 years ago on Google
I have curry udon with shrimp tempura and my wife has oven baked udon. I loved the curry sauce which was very creamy and not so spicy. My wife is a cheese lover so the baked cheese udon was perfect to her... be cautious on the container though as it was extremely hot. I liked their large paper bag to carry the food too.

The food comes out super fast! Plus itโ€™s absolutely delicious. Try the corn fritters! The honey butter mayo is a delight!

Fantastic! This was my first visit and I had an excellent experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Since indoor dining is not yet allowed, we ate outside on a covered patio but there there is also seating on the side of the building, so the wait time wasnโ€™t too long. The food style is mostly Japanese with a focus on udon and curry. The udon noodles are hand made an super delicious. The Japanese style curry was excellent. I will definitely be visiting again!
