I had a delightful dining experience at Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu during a Sunday afternoon lunch around 2 pm. The restaurant was half full, creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The servers were exceptionally friendly and hospitable, making us feel welcome right from the start. For our meal, we decided to try their seafood soup meal, kimchi soup meal, and bulgogi soup meal. Each dish was a burst of flavors, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The seafood was fresh, the kimchi soup had just the right amount of spice, and the bulgogi was tender and savory. Overall, the food was truly delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. I would gladly return to Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu for another scrumptious meal. Highly recommended!

Arguably the best Korean restaurant in the city This restaurant always hits the spot during the winter. Since the pandemic, they've been giving everyone individual side dishes, which are smaller than the sizing they used to give pre covid; however, if you want more of their amazing side dishes dont be shy to ask. Their Kimchi is hands down the best I've ever had. They also have customer parking at the back of the restaurant, just make sure you give them your plate number when you enter.

As far as comfort food goes, soon tofu and pork bone soup are definitely one of my top choices. Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu has managed to keep their small yet solid menu consistent in terms of quality each time we come, no matter the location. The service is quite speedy, except during the peak hours, and their offerings are decently priced too. Just what we needed!

Similar to the other location. This location don’t have fry chicken available. Overall, soup is good and would recommend to come here if you need a quick fix for Korean tofu soup

Traditional Korean soon tofu soup place. A good place for late dinner to warm up your belly. Sea food soon tofu soup was delicious, but pork bone soup was a bit too sour for me

Quick service, friendly staff, and delicious food that warms you to your core. I can't really eat spicy food and there's always a worry that "plain" means bland but not here! The soup still has great flavours and the side dishes are so good.

The place was clean and the waiter was kind too. We had a combination soon tofu and a pork bone potato soup. The tofu was really good and big portion too but the pork bone soup smelled a bit and nothing much to eat (too much bones) other than that everything was good. I would come back for soon tofu

It wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was spacious, so there were a few empty tables. However, we weren't greeted and seated for a good 5min since there were only a few workers, and one of them was helping people pay at the front while the others were in the back. Otherwise, the service was good. We had a $15.95 combination soondubu and a $15.95 kimchi soondubu, which both came with rice in a stone bowl and side dishes for each person. All of the food was good, and the portion sizes were enough despite not looking like it. I wouldn't say the food is exceptional, but the restaurant is a decent option for the price.

I ordered the kimchi soon tofu with beef and pork. It was delicious, the tofu was so smooth and it came with a good amount of beef and pork. I liked how the stone pot rice was on the harder side and gave a good texture. The sides that came with the meal was also great.

Went there on a Tuesday early evening just before 6pm - it’s walking distance from where my friend lives and it’s one of the highest rated Korean restaurants nearby. The place was half full around the time we arrived but was quickly filled up within half an hour or so. The menu was clear without too many items. The service was fast. We ordered seafood tofu medium spicy and non-spicy dumpling tofu. The tofu was really nice. With some side dishes and a big bowl of rice, it’s really filling! Taste-wise it’s on the light side. We stayed for almost 2.5 hours and didn’t get any pressure from the staff so that was nice. After tax and tips, each of us paid $20. Had a great time. Well worth it. I’d consider this place to be a quick meal casual dining option. It’s a good option if you are nearby.

The food here is great. Side dishes are served individually for each person which I do appreciate. Ordered the pork bone soup here while my friends ordered the soon tofu and all of us were very happy with our meals. I personally don't care much for the water poured in the rice pot afterwards, but i guess it's something that is unique. Staff here were also very pleasant. I will say I dont really understand why on Friday Saturday and Sunday they don't allow for each person to pay separately, especially since you need to go up to the counter to pay. The restaurant is also quite small and since it's so popular you may have people waiting hovering over you if you're close to the door. Still definitely worth trying out though! Updated - came back to try it again for the first time in about 5 months or so. Still about the same in my mind. Food has good taste, and the tofu is plentiful. This place is pretty much an institution of Yonge and Finch.

Popular Korean soup restaurant. We had dinner there and we got three soups: seafood, kimchi, and beef. Good and fast service. Was a full house but we only had to wait 10 minutes. We each got our own side dishes.

Worth trying. Standard fare and prompt service. Quality of food is par but not amazing, sides are standard. Expect $20pp unless sharing. Tofu soup is pretty good, perfect for cold days. Not too spicy, and they accommodate your tolerance when taking your order. Comes with large freshly cooked rice. Chicken Katsu is so plain. Thin, slightly chewy at the edges. No AMEX.

Korean hot stone soon tofu soup was super comforting as it was served boiling hot. I also liked how the rice is served separately in a stone pot as well and how you can choose the level of spice you want. When the weather is cold or you just want something cosy and comforting, this is a great spot.

Easily one of my favourite Korean places - even across several locations! I'm never disappointed with the service, price, or the portions either. I usually end up going with one of the Soon Tofu dishes and find that the soup is often one of my favourite parts as it's rich and flavourful. Not necessarily great for large groups since the space is a little small, but always a solid choice!

It’s perfect weather for some soft tofu stew! Generous portions of flavourful soup and the rice was perfectly cooked to maintain its integrity even when dunked into soup. My only qualm was the kimchi/beef/pork stew was a little one-note in terms of flavour. I would highly recommend the seafood stew instead!

Good food. I like my pork bone soup. The bulgogi was average taste and portion for the price. Great service that offered to refill our small plates appetiser when they saw it’s empty. Not many places would make that initiation nowadays.

The food was yummy! May try it again. The Spicy Pork with Rice was really spicy but tasty. We drank a lot of water to relief the spicy. I ordered Kimchi Soon Tofu with medium spicy. It was not spicy at all. Deducted one star for the Hot Stone Pot Rice. After the staff filled the rice from stone pot to bowl, he poured hot water to the stone pot. I was so surprised. I asked how to eat it and he said it was congee. It was not good at all. It tasted like burnt rice.

If I could eat at only one restaurant for the rest of my life it would for sure be here. This is my favourite restaurant ever. The side dishes are so delicious and the kimchi soon tofu is amazing. There is one server that always checks to make sure everyone is enjoying their meal and I really appreciate that.

My husband and I was craving something hot and spicy. We decided to go have some Soon Tofu. We went to the Finch south,on Church Street. Its been awhile, since the pandemic. I have to say that it really hit the spot! Delicious!!!! With the colder weather coming in, I'm sure this place will be super busy! Thank you for the yummy dumpings.

Dinner with friends, two ovotarians and one meat eater. Two dishes had rice come out in a hot pot, with tea poured in for the remainder. The service was excellent, so friendly and sweet! The washroom was in the basement though, which is not accessible for disability.

Amazing, affordable food near Yonge-Finch! Had the spicy pork bulgogi rice and it was perfect. The dish was presented in a hot stone bowl which cooked the rice well. There were crunchy bits of rice near the walls of the stone bowl. Also had the gyoza which was also good. Cooked perfectly! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for solid quality + volume in the area. Servers were also nice and attentive. Definitely want to try the tofu stews next time.

Solid Korean spot for comfort food. We always get their seafood soon tofu here, taste great especially on a chilly day. Quick service with both takeout and dine in. They are pretty spacious too in terms of in door dining and they have a front patio. Parking gets busy on Yonge Street as always.

Service good but ordered the spicy chicken and it was served at room temperature. When informing the wait staff was advised that the chicken was pre-cooked before the sauce was added and the sauce is room temperature. After the chicken was heated with the sauce, it was not spicy and was not very good.

Came here for a later lunch at 1pm on a Monday long weekend and it was a short wait. Always a good time at BCD. I usually get the dumpling soup and it's delicious even on a warmer day. Highly recommend and would come back.

Dropped in for some late night dinner and had the bibimbap. Enjoyed the hot stone pot and fresh ingredients, but found that there wasn’t a lot of beef. The bibimbap also came with some side dishes and miso soup. Tip, there’s 10% off with cash for takeout orders!

The quality of foods were trouble. The behavior of personnels were awful. I never recommend it. I informed them that I did not like the food and instead of apologizing they said what can we do for you!!!!!!

The food tastes amazing and the takeout is neatly packed! My order was ready in less than 15 minutes and the whole store looked very clean when I went to pick up the food. The Christmas tree is also adorable and the whole restaurant felt very homey. Definitely recommend!

This is my favorite go-to korean place. If you love hot (temperature wise) food like me, you will love it here. They start you off with barley tea and for the mains I would only recommend the hot stone soon tofu. I have tried 4 varieties of the soon tofu but my favorite by far, and this is coming from a meat lover, is the vegetarian version. The fermented accompaniments (bean sprouts, soy beans, kimchi) are fantastic and pair really well with the soon tofu. Must try if you are in the north york area.

I went here with my boyfriend and his friends, and it's safe to say I will definitely be coming back for more. The food was amazing and delicious with a wide range of spice levels to satisfy anyone's spice tollerance. The location is very convenient as it's right along Yonge street, near Finch station, and near many other places to go to afterwards for bubble tea or dessert.

This chain has the best soon tofu I've ever had! The seafood soon tofu i had was delicious and nicely hot. The restaurant was quite full on this Sunday night in Nov 2021, so if you want to be cautious about the number of people you're in a room with, you may want to come here at a non-peak time.

Had the Combo #1 here and it tasted great! If you have a weak stomach though, beware, it might not go down well. I enjoyed my meal here nonetheless though and the atmosphere was nice too! The appetizers were good; I liked their gyoza! Overall, a pretty tasty meal!
