Used to be a goto spot near Finch station, but my most recent order definitely changes that. Sashimi special was served with pieces that were a little frozen on the inside, and obviously not very fresh. Was it because I ordered too close to open time? Quantity has gone down too it seems. Probably won’t order here again for some time.

A completely average fast food sushi place. Rolls were nothing special and the nigiri had too little rice. The fish tasted okay and it had just a little aftertaste to it. Definitely lots of better options around the area as the price isn't the cheapest now either.

Ordered yam tempura roll, dynamite roll, hard rock & roll and spicy tuna roll. Of the 4 only the spicy tuna roll was good... order sushi often. The yam tempura roll had almost raw yams inside, rock hard and cold. Seems as though the deep fryer didn’t work well or they made it all in a rush. Same goes for anything that had the deep fried shrimp (hard rock & roll and dynamite roll). Called them about this and they acted as though I never ate sushi before and raw yams are meant to be in sushi... garbage sushi for the most part. Regret leaving any tip at all.

Ordered a avocado roll and they gave me rotten avocados! I basically had to dig out every roll to be able to eat the edible parts. I guess this is what you get when you find a sushi restaurant that is $0.50 cheaper then regular sushi restaurants.....

Sushi Bong used to be our go-to sushi spot. Since then, the quality has slowly gone downhill but we order sometimes bc it's convenient. This time, I ordered the Sushi Bong Special. While the other pieces were okay (which is why I gave it another star), the rolls in the picture had the WORST pieces of raw salmon I've ever had in my life. I was so disappointed that they would serve inedible odds and ends of salmon that were so hard to chew and tasted horrible. I never leave bad reviews, and I love supporting local businesses, but this was SO bad! Will not be ordering from there anytime soon.

BIG SUSHI PIECES! AMAZING PRICES! Fresh ingredients used. Ordered two dynamite rolls. They didn’t put napkins for our takeout sushi… and when we went back in to ask, they gave us tissues because they didn’t have napkins. Their spicy mayo is different but good different. It’s definitely a good sushi place!

Used to be my go-to sushi spot with thick cut sashimi and stuffed rolls. Not sure what happened but the rolls have a lot less fish now and the taste wasn't as fresh. Will be looking for a new regular spot.

I found something like a feather inside my sushi i brought it back to the store and asked them was is that? instead of explaining to me they took it to the back of the store and brought it back and they siad there is nothing without any explanation, they told me don't order this sushi next time ! Definitely don't recommend this place .

Despite rolls being gigantic, very authentic taste. Over the years, the rice to filling ratio has significantly improved. now it's perfect! Taste is 10/10

Reasonable price and portion. But, just okay quality. Fare enough! Plus, wasabi is not spicy at all weird…

I found Sushi Bong via Uber Eats app. I ordered the small party combo and an extra dynamic roll. The sashimi didn't taste fresh and felt like they were frozen right before they served my order. The sushi quality was mediocre compared to other sushi shops nearby, the rice was hard and the salmon didn't taste fresh. Also, the dynamic roll didn't get cut properly, each piece was very big like double the normal size if it was cut properly.

I ordered the sushi bong's special today, and I am incredibly disappointed. Though 50% of the sushi is OK, the California roll tasted like rotted fish, and I could barely even swallow the first one. For the 2nd California roll, I decided to investigate why it tasted so bad, and I found out that fish roe was the root cause. Either it wasn't prepared correctly, or they used out-of-date ingredients for their sushi. It was cheap, but it was not worth the price. I am still keeping my receipt in case I got food poisoning over these fish roe, and I will update this comment after a few days, hopefully, I don't die : :) (if I died I prob won't update this, I don't think I will have access to google) Update: Okay I am alive, I will raise it to 2 star :)

At first, you look and the food looks great. You get a lot in terms of quantity for the sushi bong special but when you taste it, it’s just okay. The roll is way too big and too much cucumber.

Sushi Bong used to be really good quality with great price. But now I have ordered from them 3 times and every time the rice tasted hard and fish was not fresh. I can understand the increasing in price but can't accept the decrease in quality. Will not buy from them again.

I ordered a combo, and the taste was decent. However, one of the salmon sushi pieces didn't seem very fresh. The soup was delicious. The owner provided a generous amount of soy sauce, which was nice.

Overall, it's a great place for sushi. I have gone to other places with better sushi, but I have yet to find a place with a better price to food ratio. I had the miso soup, and it had enuki mushrooms in it, which I thought was a great addition. I also had the tuna with green onion roll and dynamite roll, which were huge and great. The owner was friendly and treated us great. Note: This is a take out place, but luckily, there were only 2 of us, the one table there was empty, and the owner allowed us to dine in.

I've ordered from this place three times so far. The first time was amazing. Good sushi, for a great price. Somehow, it went all down hill on the second and third times. The second delivery, the rice was undercooked, so eating the sushi was difficult. The third time, the rice was still undercooked and they gave us rancid pickled ginger and lemons. They smell horrendous, almost like a dirty rag. I wanted to give them a chance after the second delivery, but now, I'm not sure I can continue with them.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Sushi Bong, and I must say, it left an indelible impression on my discerning palate. Sushi Bong deftly balances affordability with an exceptional commitment to sushi quality. From the moment I stepped in, the inviting ambiance set the stage for a delightful culinary journey. The menu, while affordable, boasts an impressive array of sushi options that captured my attention. What truly distinguishes them is their meticulous attention to detail in every sushi creation. The freshness of the fish was palpable, and the rice possessed that perfect balance of texture and flavour that separates the ordinary from the extraordinary. Each roll was a work of art, meticulously crafted with precision and care. The delectable fusion of flavours danced on my taste buds, a testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs at Sushi Bong. The use of high-quality ingredients was evident, and the presentation was nothing short of elegant. Despite the affordability, Sushi Bong maintains a dedication to authenticity that pleasantly surprised me. The traditional techniques and flavours were upheld with reverence, showcasing a genuine commitment to the essence of sushi. In my professional opinion, Sushi Bong is a restaurant that effortlessly combines exceptional sushi quality with prices that won't break the bank. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or a newcomer to this culinary art, I wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant for a truly memorable and satisfying sushi experience. Your taste buds and your wallet will both thank you.

I have been to Sushi Bong multiple times over the last few years because their prices are more affordable than most sushi restaurants in Toronto. I usually order "Bong's sashimi" which is 18 pieces of assorted sashimi. Their food tastes good. The only downsides: the place is extremely small, there is no seating, and you usually have to wait around 10 minutes to get your order.

Ordered take-out. The price is good but the quality of the sushi is only ok compared to other places. Our order was ready almost immediately. They don't take credit card! 😩 Nowhere really to sit though. Overall it was decent.

By far my favourite sushi joint. I have been going here for the past 12 years or so. Although I no longer live in the area I still head over at least once every 2 weeks - but when I lived within 10 minutes I would go a few times a week. I've tried dozens of other sushi places over the years and I still think Sushi Bong is the best. The rolls are absolutely huge! The prices are great and have gone up very little over the years. The food is always fresh and definitely at its best if eaten shortly after it's made. I feel this way about all sushi, but at some places you'll get your order and it tastes like it's already been sitting for half an hour, this is not the case here. They use actual wasabi, not green horseradish. I know the horseradish thing is not that common with sushi places but it definitely happens and always ruins the entire meal for me. Staff are super friendly and always remember me, even over the phone. The go-to for my girlfriend and I is: Sushi Bong special, add avocado to the included Salmon roll Dynamite roll Sushi combo B. This is an insane amount of food for two people and always leaves us both completely stuffed for less than $20 per person.

Disappointed by the sushi (nigiri) - slightly smelly. Impressed by the rolls. Every time I go, they are explaining to someone that they don’t take credit cards.

The food is great, especially for the price you pay. Is it the best sushi place? No. But it is AMAZING bang for buck. And I find that their price is consistently competitive, despite other sushi places nearby raising the prices by quite a lot over the years. The sushi bong special is my go-to (I really like their special California roll which has pieces of salmon and egg), and their spicy salmon roll has a really nice Korean twist to it, and their Dynamite Roll was. . . massive. The other rolls are pretty good for the price as well.

Fresh ingredients, reasonable prices. Giant rolls. Almost too big that I had to take 2-bites per piece, which was kinda messier and didn't get to taste the full flavours in each bite if that makes sense? Also the soy sauce they gave us was incredibly salty. I think it was the wrong kind and not meant for sushi. Great service though. They were testing out a new roll and gave us a free sample. It was very tasty and again, a huge sized piece.

I enjoyed Sushi Bong located in Shops of Yonge, so I wanted to give this place a try, but ended up fairly disappointed with this one. I ordered also the unagi roll that is not in the picture. That roll was fine, hence the 3 stars, but the Sushi Bong special was off. All the rolls smelled 'off', the fish had a slightly pungent odour. The rice tasted like it was on the brink of going bad. It was dry too. I got the order and ate it within 10 minutes as my destination was near. Looks weren't appealing also as you can see. It looked like it was made in a rush. Sadly, a bit disappointing..

Fresh and delicious Sushi. It’s a pick up location. We ordered a Medium Party Tray. I like their Philadelphia and would recommend it.
