Worst service that I’ve ever got, the server was in rush and at the end we asked her to split the bill in three and she did it in half and when we asked her we are 3 she was shouting that you’ve asked for half. Then, we left the place and she came after us to say she made a mistake in the bill and we need to pay more. The food was ok but if you are looking to get a service I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT.

Worst black dragon sushi experience ever! Expensive and bad food! Never recommended this restaurant to anyone! All those recommendations are fake news! As you could see from my pic, the black dragon roll only have two very thin pics ell on the top and the shrimp tempura inside is small enough! This roll cost me $17 plus tax and tip, $20 for this vegetable roll, funny thing! how come!!! Terrible restaurant ever!

I am big on sushi and sushi Moto is a nice place to dine in or get takeout. The staff are amazing, helpful and patient. It was my friend first time trying sushi and the waitress patiently explained each of her questions and gave us a complimentary extra salad which was really sweet. The quality of food was good, tasty and fresh! Definitely a place to go next time if you want to try some sushi with beautiful designs! We got sushi pizza and few spicy salmon, tuna, dynamite and chicken noodle! All were tasty and good!

Sushi Motto provides a meal that is nothing short of delightful. Their broad selection of food ensures that there is something for every palate, ranging from the freshest and most flavorful sushi to other delectable dishes. The miso soup was a standout, rich and satisfying, a perfect beginning to the meal. Their sushi is fresh and tasty, with a variety of options that cater to both sushi enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The chicken dishes were also great, cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. But what truly sets Sushi Motto apart is their excellent service. The staff are attentive and welcoming, going the extra mile to make sure every guest's experience is special. All in all, Sushi Motto has quickly become a favorite for quality Japanese cuisine.

Sushi Moto is undeniably one of the best Japanese restaurants in Toronto. The moment you step inside, you're welcomed by an ambiance that exudes authenticity and attention to detail. Their sushi platter is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The freshness of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs shine through in every bite. It's a taste experience that's simply unforgettable, and their presentation is a work of art in itself. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to make your dining experience exceptional. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or simply looking to explore Japanese cuisine, Sushi Moto is a must-visit. It's a gem in Toronto's culinary scene that's truly worth savoring.

I can say the best quality sushi I’ve had in Toronto. The salad was super fresh and tasty too. Even though their prices are higher than other sushi places, it was totally worth it. Highly recommend.

Great 5 stars Japanese restaurant. We ordered Kalbi and Sashimi Bento box for lunch. Great taste and portion. Staffs are polite and attentive. Highly Recommend 👍

Went on a week night. Not too busy which was nice since I'm still unsure about eating out due to Covid. They've added flexiglass above the booths and people respect safety protocols so you feel safe. The staff are always super friendly and the food is great. I like the fact that there's many booths, also the casual environment where you can watch sports even if there's no sound (not too many to be distracting). It's not Japanese buffet but portions are a good size and I couldn't eat much more anyways. It wasn't my first visit and I'll definitely be back again. Terrikayi chicken bento box was $29 for dinner but I think it's $10 less during lunch (maybe you get a bit less at lunch)

The best Japanese food you could find out in GTA AND i'm not exagarating - in Canada. Hungry Sushi, Sashimi Suhsi bento, Steak and Rice, ... and literally anything you order here is exceptional. All seafood are so fresh. Sashimis are of greatest quality. Atmosphere and customer service are awesome. I'm a loyal customer there and will not try Japanese food somewhere else if I don't have to.

Find the in-person dining experience here is much better than take-outs specifically for sushi. We got a sushi platter and it was tasty but didn’t seem as fresh as when eating in, something about the rice. That said the arrangement looks great and restaurant provided napkins, sauces & chopsticks. I’d recommend to try the crispy noodle soup when dinning in! Or taking out. Great every-time.

Fun place, stylish with great booth selections. It’s deserving of 4.3-4.5. Service is excellent. Food was was solid. Salmon Sashimi was nicely cut and presented. Wonton soup is vegetarian. Broth was delicious. Dumplings were okay. Kalbi appetizer is perfect for 2-3 and highly recommend. Garden Salad had a lot of liquid dressing but was a great price for the size. Sake selections are strong as well. Overall it’s a fun experience with quality food.

A great place for sushi, where I'd recommend trying as many rolls as you can. [Food] We ordered the small sushi, which was a good amount for 3 guys. The sushi was very good and I enjoyed every roll we had. I'd definitely come back. [Service] The waitress led us to believe the small sushi wasn't enough but luckily it was enough food.

If you’re looking for a great delicious a la carte sushi, don’t miss Sushi Moto. It was not busy the time we were there, but we enjoyed every minute there. Waitress was very friendly, Avocado salad was as nice as always I tried it, This time I tried their Avocado tempura, so creamy, crunchy and delicious 😋😋 And the combination of Sashimi, Sushi and Macki was very fresh, The best part was its desert, Ice cream banana tempura, I ordered it two times 😝

I was shocked to find the interior quiet nice and modern since the exterior looks a bit run down. Street parking on Yonge is available - if you’re lucky. I actually really enjoyed the food 5/5. Everything was delicious. We ordered a variety of rolls, tempura, gyoza (5 pieces for $10) and chicken teriyaki ($30). It was pretty pricy. Service was good for the most part until I ordered a cocktail for myself and the waitress asked EVERYONE at our table to see their ID. Apparently they don’t serve alcohol unless EVERYONE at your table is over age, even if they aren’t the ones drinking. I asked “so because we have minors at the table, you are refusing to serve me ONE drink?” The waitress then said she needed to get manager approval in order to serve me the overpriced beverage. As someone who is smart serve certified and worked in restaurants for years, this was a little bizarre and annoying. This encounter left a bitter taste in my mouth. Starbucks prices $$$ for McDonald’s service.

Great customer service, we asked to change table because we were sitting at the front entrance and they offered us a private room. We ordered a few makis including spider green dragon, tataki attack, hungry and a side of salmon.

Really good spot for sushi with a casual bar vibe. Large portions for their sushi items, and their tempura was fried perfectly.

Very tasty sushi! Actually the best in the area! We have tried their sashimi combo which is really huge. So if you are a sushilover and you don’t order other starters this medium set we ordered will be enough to make 2 very full. If you want want to order other starters than chose small sashimi combo. They do have lunch options starting from 15CAD. Never tried cannot recommend but will try it next time.

Very satisfied with the meal and the overall experience. Not too packed for a Friday night but maybe it was because we went after 10pm. Ordered the Chirashi Dinner. Good atmosphere, friendly service, tasty food and drinks. Would definitely go back!

I completely don’t understand why this place is so popular. I guess people have low expectations. I can give them only 3* because prices are expensive for those rolls (20$) and other things overall. It was good but not amazing. Same with sashimi… I’ve tried better ones in other places like a buffet, for example. However, the staff is nice. I wouldn’t recommend this place. You can find cheaper and better

Loved it! One of the best sushi restaurants in North York, the Sushi Motto is elegant and has wonderfully fresh and varied sushi. The bar and bartender serve a good selection of cocktails. The Cosmo I had was exquisite, well balanced with a hint of Cointreau and shaken! A delight!

Green Dragon Personal favourite- Hungry (It has shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, shredded spicy crab meat and green onion) ————————x———————x——————- Last year: Have been here only once. Was too good. Just because i have visited only once, i am not going over the top and holding myself from giving 5 star. Will be visiting again soon.

Great dining experience. The dinner bento box is larger than most. The noodles are a good size portion. Steph was our server, she was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu items. I love their philosophical cups, they were out and could not purchase the $12 item.

We had a great delicious meal here. The sushi was very fresh. The artistry displayed so lovely in food. There are so many TV monitors make us very welcome.the server was so kind and enthusiastic. There were 4 of us. We ordered Small Sushi and Sashimi combo and two individual maki. For sure we will be back.

Was a good experience. Clean spot. Our server Stephanie was great. The timing for appetizers to entre is nice. One thing I would recommend is a better description of the food on the menu. We though we were ordering ribeye steak but it was cut. Nonetheless was good tasting.

Been coming to Sushi Moto for years with colleagues. This place never disappoints if you're looking for high quality sushi. Great lunch combo options and quick service for work lunch breaks. Owner and staff are always welcoming. Decor and ambience gives a fancy, but cozy feel.

Actually 3.5⭐️Good quality of food at this price. The oil and flavour is rich in sashimi, however taste way less in sushi. The rolls are just regular. Food feel fresh, no weird taste. Not the best but nothing goes wrong.

Awesome bento! I’m pregnant and was afraid the pandemic might have had an effect on quality, Sushi Moto is always as delicious as before! We love their lunch bento there, really fresh and awesome service!

I went with 3 other adults and 2 kids, with the party of 6, we had lot of fun. Our server was awesome. He helped us with our questions and was very friendly. He had his mask on at all time. Before heading there, we did the reservations and was seated without any wait. There was no line up as well. Food was very delicious and we had lots of left over too. Our server didn't hesitate at all to pack it for us. I Used ladies washroom which was downstairs. It was very clean, not smelly, TP stocked up and garbage bin was easily accessible as well. I am definitely coming back and recommending my friends.

Definitely one of my go-to a la carte sushi restaurants. It leans on the pricier side, but is most definitely worth it. The service is good, food comes out quick, and has a great open atmosphere. They give you thick cut pieces of sashimi that are good quality, and their maki is more ingredient than rice, unlike many other places. One of my favourite dishes (appetizer) is the hamachi kama (grilled yellow tail collar). Consistency on it isn't perfect (I've had it a time of two when it was slightly dry), but those 4/5 times when it's cooked well, it's delicious, juicy, and well seasoned.

  • 2/5 Sanduni P. 2 years ago on Google
Sashimi was good but this is not quality sushi. The spicy tuna roll had more filler (panko crumbs than actual tuna). I don't get why they have to grind tuna with crispy crunch to make a spicy tuna roll? average Toronto sushi, good for someone who has never had it before. Quality is no better than any other avg place. Went here after seeing reviews but never again.

Brilliant food, great staff and awesome ambience. We went with a baby, and the staff was super helpful in understanding our needs. Everyone was giving their best to make our experience better. The only thing that can improve a little would be their combo menu to have more flexibility or more options. Will definitely go back to enjoy the food and hospitality.

This is my 3rd time coming here. Service continues to be great. Food is very tasty. I really like the friendly environment the restaurant offers and staff is polite and helpful when assistance is needed. As there are restaurants where the service is bad, it takes away from the whole experience resulting in the food tasting bad. Overall, I am happy with every thing. I definitely recommend this sushi spot.

Deliciously fresh sushi in a zen setting! One of my favourite spots near Yonge & Sheppard. Their lunch specials are pretty great too, if you work in the area and want to go out for sushi with coworkers. Pictured: sashimi lunch and salmon teriyaki lunch specials.
