Everything was good from start to finish! The staff was friendly and attentive, and answered our questions well. We ordered a creme truffle teokboki, small original jokbal, sapporo and bada cocktail. The food was great, I really liked the two mains. It’d be nice if we got more lettuce for jokbal however. Great kimchi fries!

Ordered 'to go' original and spicy jokbal (pork feet) which came with a pleasant surprise - an order of makgooksoo (spicy buckwheat noodle) on the house. We ordered extra spicy for the spicy one which had the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. Original one was also nice. Very soft meat and jelly skin with a good balance of sweet and salty. Surprisingly, the free order of noodle was really good. Lots of fresh veggies added good texture!

My new fav neighbourhood place! Wow what a great random find. I had the most spectacular red wine sangria and life-changing carbonara rice cakes - what?! Soft delicate rice cakes in a creamy garlic decadent sauce with mushrooms and broccoli - where do I get my customer-for-life card? They are going to have a hard time getting rid of me…

Shared a large jokbal combo with friends with a pitcher of sangria and had a great time. The jokbal is so tender and delicious. Their spicy is quite spicy so I'd recommend doing mild if you can't take too much spice. The spicy noodles are more manageable and excellent as well. They also take reservations which is quite nice!

Great little Korea tapas place in Sheppard-Yonge. I honestly had no idea this place exists. It was a lucky find for sure! Music was a bit loud but inside was very cosy and service was very quick. We were so excited to try soju flight but it was unavailable when we were there on Friday night. Wish we could try next time when we visit here again. This place can get very busy, recommend calling beforehand to make sure if they have a table especially if you’re planning to go there with 3 or more people on the Friday night or the weekend.

The portion of the food are very big. It was $42 for the big dish we ordered in the picture. The drinks are also delicious. There are 2 hours limits for seating at weekends. Generally, I like this place. Very affordable and good vibe. But the music is kind of loud. We couldn’t talk much.

We went to Han Ba Tang on a late night weekday and it was pretty busy and loud inside since a lot of people were drinking. They have a great selection of alcohol, but we didn’t get any this time. We got a few snacks to share. First, we got the chicken wings (Honey Garlic) and fries ($16). The wings were so crispy and juicy, highly recommend, and the fries were similar to Costco ones, so they were delicious too. Next, we got the Truffle Creamy rice cake ($18), it had truffle oil, bacon, mushroom, shrimp and broccoli. The sauce was very creamy and had a lot of flavour, a good option for those that can’t eat spicy. Lastly, we got the seafood pancake ($13 on Thursdays, but normally it’s $16). We think that it tastes better with the sweet soya sauce, it has a lot of seafood inside. Overall, the food portions were decently big. The food was flavourful and the waiters were kind. We would definitely come back to try other food!

Overall this is a great dinner spot with good portions, it gets super packed at night on busier weekdays including Friday nights (even when the weather is super cold and snowy!) and has great vibes. They have plenty of seating inside and a 2 hour seating limit. The food was good but nothing impressive - we ordered the seafood pancake (a bit too greasy), fried chicken salad (SO GOOD) and fried softshell crabs (they were super crunchy and not that flavourful since the shell is left intact + deep fried... we quickly got tired of it). They're best known for their pork dishes and cocktails so that's probably a better order to make if you end up here. They also don't have WiFi for customers which can make it difficult to access the online food menu via QR code if you don't have data.

I've been looking forward to trying Han Ba Tang for a while after seeing this be the go-to place for a few other friends on a night out. We came in after work with a party of 4 and the restaurant was pretty much empty as the night was still early so we were seated right away. What we got: - Original Jokbal - Softshell Crab with Habanero Mayo and Yuzu Sauce - Truffle Creamy Rice Cake - Kimchi Udon - Makguli Final Thoughts: The vibes were great, but nothing special overall. Rice cakes were over-cooked and too soft, I'm not a huge fan of seafood where you have the crunchy shell, and it was the first time I had jokbal which I found too fatty. Perhaps my expectations were too high coming in or the items we ordered just weren't to my taste. Would come back but probably order other things.

Honestly maybe the best chicken wings I've had in a few years. They are dry rub style but holy cow you can tell they don't half fry then fry them again to make it faster to serve the table... Service was friendly but a little forgetful even with only a few tables but that's not a big deal if it's something minor that was missed. Seafood pancake is really good very light on batter mostly ingredients.

Been there twice, food is definitely great! Kimchi fries were so good! Easy to share with two people and it was so crispy. We also tried the seafood pancake which was definitely great and had plenty of flavor. The woaw buns were great too, but fairly small unfortunately. For drinks, we had sangria, strawberry inception, Bada, and clean cut. The first two drinks were super delicious and would definitely order again. The last two.. were subpar and would not recommend ordering as the flavour was off. As for service, it is slow at the beginning. We have to flag them down to get our order in. Otherwise, it wasn't too bad, not too impressed by it. Music is very loud though, even for the bar feeling. Overall, would recommend!

Fantastic food and service to die for! I was blown away by how fresh, clean, and tender the meat was, and the side dishes were high-quality too. We got both the original and spicy pork (we liked the spicy one more, we got spice level 1 out of 3 and it was perfect for us) and the cold noodles came free on the house. Amazing flavour combination, I was surprised how much it elevated the meal! Definitely don't skip the noodles. Everything had VERY generous portion sizes, and the leftovers all kept well in the fridge (tasted just as good heated up the next day!). I estimate that the amount we ordered would be perfect for a family of 4, maybe 5. Pro tip: if you have cucumbers at home I'd recommend cutting them up into sticks as shown in the picture for extra vegetables! Not necessary but the added crunch was welcome and refreshing. It was my first time here, but the employees were super friendly and all the food was packed super carefully for takeout so we had no issues with transportation. Can't wait for them to re-open post-lockdown so we can go enjoy the food in person and support this small local business.

Great food and very responsive staff. Personally not a fan of fatty part so I only had the lean part of the jokbal and it was quite good. The short ribs was also very flavorful. The Kimchi fries were so crunchy, it was delicious. The price point was a little pricier than I would have liked but the quality is good so can't complain. All-in-all it was great and would recommend.

My work recently changed offices to North York, and as opposed to the downtown core, the Yonge/Sheppard area has a fantastic amount of dining options, specifically asian restauraunts. Han Ba Tang is described as Korean Fusion cooking and their dishes are amazing. From the fried pancakes to duck, chicken, bento-style boxes/dishes, and bao sandwiches everything we tried was delicious. Favorite was the jokbal dish, recommended by the owner and it didnt disappoint. It's best to come here with a group as sharing dishes family-style was definitely the way to go. Most nights of the week this place is incredibly busy and its easy to understand why. If you're looking for an upbeat place to eat/drink and have fun, this is a great spot in North York.

Visited here for hanging out w friends. The place is cute and aesthetically pleasing, good place for hanging out w friends. The food was good, we ordered the rice cake and it had a very creamy sauce, also the kimchi with fries was very delicious. They have a variety of cocktails and drinks and havw flavored soju. The service was ok, wasn’t good and wasn’t bad. Overall a good experience

4.6 / 5.0 bar only There was no food after 11 on a Thursday. But the open front windows and sexy vide drew me in. This bar serves great food, but I missed the last call for kitchen food. But when I randomly walked by, I felt transported to Southeast Asia. I actually went next door, regretted, and left and came here. This is a trendy, Korean-Canadian QueenWest style bar with personality. It’s eclectic. From what I watched, service was intense and professional, atmosphere was pumped by bartender playlists of originality and hip hop. It took me out of Toronto and made me feel anywhere. The server - she was so hard working. Bartender Tony had the best hip hop urban playlist. I felt welcomed and transported. Grateful for this experience. If you’re in the area OR like Korean culture, I felt I was in a progressive Seoul bar - and wouldn’t have know the difference. This place is a Toronto North Gem.

While searching for a Korean restaurant that is close to the subway, I came across Han Ba Tang. It’s for a family gathering with some seniors and a kid. We made reservation for Friday night early dinner around 6:30pm. I really liked the vibe but the music was slightly too loud for the older folks to have a good conversation. The food was great - a bit more of a pub style. Although it wasn’t easy to order for some who don’t eat spicy food or meat, and allergic to crab 😅😅 we managed to order some yummy dishes. I really liked the rice balls and the fried cheese was really good as well. By the time we finished most of the dishes and wanted to order more, the house was full and we had to wait for the additional dish a while. The waitress was quite apologetic since they were understaffed. I’d be back to this place maybe have some food and some booze as well. The vibe was quite “alive”. The washroom is located in the basement so it’s not wheelchair friendly. There were also a few kids at the restaurant. I’d say it’s ok for kids - plus they usually love fried food anyway. 🤣🤣🤣 Public parking is available at the back of the restaurant.

Went last night for the first time in a long time. Always loved this place. They do amazing fusion Korean food. Traditional korean with a lil north American twist. I use to always get the Korean tacos but they now do bao's, we got the pork belly & they were so good. Had to get the kimchi fries because they are the star of the show. Highly recommend this spot, their drink specials (every day of the week) are really good. Service is always friendly & efficient

Ordered take out for pick up and everyone loved it. It was our first time trying korean jokbal. The skin and meat are super delicious; combined with the sides wrapped in lettuce, it was perfect! We also got the seafood pancake, spicy rice cake, and truffle cream rice cake which were all decent.

Food is too greasy, not spicy at all. Some dishes have better portions than others. Didn’t really try anything that stood out or was amazing. I’ve had better Korean food elsewhere. I get they are trying to be unique but missed their mark. Some items on the menu were weirdly paired or just super basic. We were told upon arriving that there was a 2 hour limit which was a turn off. And their drink menu was not impressive. I asked for a basic margarita ($20) and they didn’t seem to know how to make it. It was pretty awful. I don’t think I will be returning here at all. There are better places around that with better food and no time limit.

This was another food & bar hopping adventure along Yonge Street with a group of friends. The place was virtually empty indoors so seating was not a problem; outdoor patio seating was full. To begin with, one pitcher of cold Sapporo please! The Kimchi fries w/Bulgogi (crispy potato fries, gravy, kimchi, herb mayo, green onion) was excellent and the Seafood Pancake (shrimp, squid, chives, pepper) was prepared to our liking. Our server was friendly and attentive! Street Toronto P parking is available, if you can find an open spot.

Ordered spicy pork hocks with mussel soup and rice balls to go. Paid $63 in cash for everything, and I think the portion size is pretty generous for what it pays. Mussel soup was kind of salty and didn't look like it was made fresh because the overcooked green onions were sitting at the bottom of the container. But the overall quality of the food was decent. I ordered level 2 spiciness for my pork hocks, but I think I could try level 3 next time since it wasn't that spicy for me. Parking is extremely limited, especially on weekends, as it is one of the busiest areas in North York. One thing that I would like to mention about the service is that the server who handed over the food didn't even say "hi," "thank you," or "goodbye" as if I was invisible. Do they not acknowledge you unless you dine in and give them hefty tips? They should learn the basic courtesy for their customers whether or not they tip.

They have mild version of Korean food which I really appreciate. Highly recommend the corn cheese and the rice cake. The chicken wings also tasted good. Price is reasonable.

Meat Woaw Bun was delicious, juicy and succulent! The meat was very tender and flavourful. I would highly recommend getting the Seafood Pancake as well! It's super savoury, crispy and tasty. Unfortunately, the Corn Cheese was a complete L. There was no cheese pull and the cheese looked curdled. It's not pleasant eating it when it's not hot anymore.

Seriously the best delivery food I’ve had!! Portion was perfect (not oversized and just the perfect amount to fill you up for a meal), taste was amazing and the food was pretty warm although it took a bit of time to arrive. I would definitely love to dine in here sometime or order again! Absolutely exceeded my expectations.

Amazing staff, service, and taste. If you are ordering a spicy jokbal, and you can handle buldak noodles just fine, then choose the third spicy level because level two was mild for me.

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!! We got their Combo A which comes with pork hocks “Jokbal”, and a side dish (we chose Spicy Noodles “Mak Guksu”). Their Spicy Jokbal was so flavourful, came with meaty pork hock and tender skin that was packed with collagen! Level 1 spicy was perfect for us, and the portions were incredible for the price. Their Spicy Noodles was also very delicious, it came with a spicy-ish sweet sauce that mixed with buckwheat noodles, shredded cabbage and lettuce. Jokbal and Mak Guksu is such a delicious combo!

Worth trying/ Have returned. Hands down one of the most flavourful spicy sauces I've had, and it's not too spicy either. Small focused menu, get the main thing here, which is their jeokbal. We had both spicy and non-spicy version and the plain version was just that - very plain. Service kind of slow and you have to constantly work your neck to make eye contact. Prices are standard, expect $25-$35pp with a beer. Jul 2022: Same amazing spicy jokbal. Wish they would use the same spicy sauce for their deobokgi or use it on stir fried chicken. It is large so enough to share for 4 or for 2 with leftovers. Don't think rest of the menu is worth much tho. Doesn't take AMEX.

Great atmosphere to come with friends or family for Korean comfort food. Food was a little cold when it arrived (fries and soft fried crab). At the time of visit, the place was not very busy.

Everything was well-packaged and the staff was friendly! I think this place serves the best 족발 (jokbal) in town :) I'm usually sensitive to the smell but I decided to give it a try after my family suggested. It turned out to be much better than the ones I had before! I also really appreciate how they took the time to provide detailed instructions (shown on the container) as to how to fully enjoy their dishes!
