Great Korean restaurant. I usually order bibimbap takeouts, this time I decided to dine in. I ordered the veggie bibimbap (yachae dolsot) and also tried a bit of the fish katsu (saengseon), both of which are delectable! Another thing I love about Kayagum other than the food is the hours - they don’t close early and is a perfect place for night owls.

The service here is great and the food is tasty. I don’t know if it’s the BEST Korean food I’ve had, but it was pretty good! I’d recommend the army base stew and marinated pork. The place is really nice and spacious, so good for bigger parties!

Good food for a fair price. The portions were big and there was a big menu. Nothing had a wow factor but it was all good and consistent. There were also many great sides (kimchi, bean sprouts, pickled radish) that the staff was kick on refilling. Would go again

Good Korean restaurant with a nice patio area and lots of food options in their menu. Their indoor dining area is nice and roomy too although they always get busy. I’ve eaten/ordered pickup here a few times mainly for their corn cheese which is by far, my favourite of everywhere I’ve tried in the neighbourhood. I noticed that in some places, their corn cheese has more mayo than cheese and way too sweet. But here, it’s so cheesy and creamy and really good! I also love their banchan! They’re all so tasty and you get a variety too. They also change things up so you may not get the same ones every single time. Maybe I’ll edit this review again to add pictures of the side dishes next time I eat there (and there will be a next time.) There are better pork bone soup out there but I like that the meat is tender and still tasty, just not the best I’ve tried. Lastly, I enjoy the service. The servers are really nice and helpful, even when you’re just doing pick-up which I’ve done a few times during lockdown. Great neighbourhood restaurant overall! Will definitely be back!

Update: My 6th visit on January 30th for an impromptu dinner. In the past, I have ordered: stone bowl Bimbim bap and the Bulgogi beef hot pot with veggies and glass noodles. This time around, I ordered the Chicken Katsu. It was really good and a very big portion. The service was excellent; staff were friendly and attentive. I would visit again! The menu is not as big as before. Since covid the menu has changed and slimmed down to a few pages. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bad service and bad food. I asked for extra sauces, I didn’t get it until I finished food. For the kimchi pancake, it is even raw inside. The chicken rice it made me feel like the chicken is not seasoned, so it tastes so insipid.

Everyone ordered their own food, so I was shared a chicken teriyaki bibimbap. We also had corn cheese, which I had never tried before! The food is incredibly tasty and fresh! Before we got our food, we were also offered a couple side dishes. I notice a small button on our table that calls for service, making it simple to place an order and ask additional inquiries. This lovely night was really enjoyed!

I really enjoyed my meal here. Service is great and menu is full of great staples and wonderful surprises. Great place to go with friends and try out different things together. Price of items is good and portions are big.

Pretty good place. Always looked so crowded so we decided to try it today. Food was good as well. Avocado salad is great, just wish there was a hint of some citrus in there, it would have been perfect! They garnish the salad with some special sauce which tastes different but good. The staff are sweet and responsive even when its very busy. Overall, a good experience!

Such good delicious Korean food! And the servers are great and friendly. Not to mention fast and attentive. Atmosphere is perfect for casual eats. You have the privacy of a taller booth for all seating options.

Food is fine, service is great, price is kinda high unfortunately, effect of inflation. If you wanna satiate your Korean craving this is an okay place if you don't mind spend a pretty penny.

Long story short the staff were being really rude to me for some reason and it kinda made my experience less enjoyable. Food was okay! I posted a pic of the receipt for pricing and the dishes we got. The mini dishes of tteokbokki and the gapche glass noodles were good but the kkanpungii had a super chewy dough with barely any chicken inside, not worth 26$. My bf didn’t like the dough but for me If it just had less dough I would have enjoyed it. I just found it to be too much, seemed like they were trying to make the portion look bigger. Basically paid for dough. I’ve had it before and it wasn’t like that so not sure if this is there style or maybe I had gotten almost identical dish in the past, either it wasn’t for me maybe others would enjoy There was also confusion about the menu, if you look at the pics it states each dish comes with rice except a few, we had gotten a dish that didn’t come with rice but under it said a set of sides comes with but apparently it’s just for the top portion. It was the fact though that someone came to ask if our food was good we said yes just waiting for the chicken then I i had actually asked to clarify if mine came with the sides and she said yes but it never came. I asked another staff if it came with it she said “no” in a rude tone and walked away fast before I could just simply order myself some sides if that was the case. When i finally did order it, it took forever for just 2 sides- kimchi and bean sprouts- to come I did ask my waitress for more clarification and for some reason she told me someone was coming but nobody did , oh well When I was paying i forgot to add my tip so I took the card out and asked her to redo it so I can input correctly and she rolled her eyes at me so at that point I just gave 1$ and deciding ya I’m not coming back.

Kayagum is the BEST Korean restaurant in North York! That’s my opinion! I tried other restaurants there and I don’t want to mention the name but even the famous ones, I think Kayagum still wins in so many aspects! We have been to Kayagum multiple times. Because it is so good, I think we come here at least 1 time in 2 months. The foods are generally above average qualities! They offer a lot of varieties of side dishes and you can ask for another round of them as well. We love Kimchi Jigae and Dolsot Bibimbab. I love that the protein options in the soup like Kimchi Jigae can be substituted. The servers are nice, sometimes they are busy but they are always responsive and responding to our requests at the end.

This place was incredible! Came here after an event with my partner and we had a ball! The atmosphere was so lively and the restaurant was still poppin at midnight. Loved the warm lighting and cozy wooden interior. They also had a few good options for vegetarians which I loved. We will definitely be back again.

What a hidden gem. We have been to so many Korean restaurants in Toronto and this one by far has always surpassed our expectations. The service, quality of food and most importantly the taste is fantastic! We’re lucky to have this restaurant close by. My 91 year old Korean mom approves!

They are really good! I ordered Tteok Mandu guk, and Mini Tteok-bokki. The taste was really clean, fresh and tasty. They sent it with rice. I had a special request regarding giving a little kimchi or just replace it with rice and they were generous enough to add kimchi as well as rice along with one more side dish, which was so good, I couldn’t stop eating it! I’m very grateful for how kind they are and it clearly shows that they care about their customers. I’m definitely ordering from here again. I also liked how they were specifying if the food contains any meat and the options they have with replacing it in applicable dishes, it was very helpful for me.The food is tasty, the portions are also big and the service is more than amazing and I’m very satisfied and happy. You should definitely order from here!

We got the gamjatang (pork bone) hotpot. The soup taste was great but I thought the meat could have been more soft, like fall off the bone and have more flavor. I felt like the budae jjigae (wish it had more noodles) and kimchi soup were pretty spicy. Other than that service and the side dishes were good!

I ordered Kimchi soup with PORK. SO2 Kimchi Jjigae $17.99 1. Taste - perfectly sour, spicy and a little bit sweet. 5/5 👌🏾 2. Vegetables - Too mushy and soft. It’s like you’re eating baby pureed veggies.😬🤢 0/5 3. Main dish Serving portion - Very small 👎🏾 bowl and Just 3 pieces of thinly sliced pork. Couldn’t even find the little pieces when they served it. Yes, the tiny bowl contained a lot more mushy vegetables. Also, they forgot to add some tofu so they had to take the bowl back. Not worth your $17.99 ❌❌❌ 0/5 4. Side Dishes - I like their sweet potato and cucumber kimchi. The rest of the sides are nahh. Any refill of side dishes will cost you more 💵, BEWARE. ⚠️ 2/5 5. Staff - they’re nice and friendly. 🥰 5/5 I don’t recommend this one. 🚫 👎🏾 If you’re craving for Kimchi soup with Pork, go to other Korean restaurants.

late at night and felt hungry, Kayagum Restaurant is one of the nice Korean restaurants to drop by. Tried bibimbap with fried tofu (big pieces) actually, not bad!! It's not purple rice but lots of veggies that I like. Side dishes were ok too. Thanks!! It opens to 2:30am

Kayagum more like Kaya-yum! Food was not bad, sides were not bad, only issue is that they do not offer free side refills so beware. Service is also good! And the restaurant environment is very nice, modern and good for groups

We had a birthday party last month and it was great, restaurant is spacious and has a variety of choices. Everyone has the draft beer and flavored soju, the food went well with the drinks.

It was a good experience at Kayagum. I went on the holiday monday. The service was very friendly and quick. We all liked the food. The sides were all fresh. My parents liked the beef teriyaki and udon noodles (without soup). I enjoyed the kimchi jigae (stew). There is something for everyone and if you are not in the mood for Korean dishes or spicy dishes. I would come back for sure! Looks like kbbq is an option too. The only thing is the toliet was not functioning the best, so perhaps they could fix that. Other than , it was good.

I come here once every week/ every two weeks, the service is AMAZING. Maryanne / Marianne is an amazing server. The food and service is beyond expectation. I have recommended this place to a numerous amount of people and they’ve loved it. I would definitely recommend this place over and over if I could.

Such great food. My mum, a woman in her 70’s, has a recently acquired love for Korean food. Having not tried Kayagum before, I was hoping for the best for a delivery dinner together. We got the galbi ribs, beef japchae, and spicy soft tofu and beef soup. We got rice with ribs and soup, kimchi and bean sprouts as well. The taste was amazing. I couldn’t stop eating. The food was hot when it got to our home. Can’t wait to try in person dining when we’re more comfortable going out. Thank you!
