Just came back from a birthday lunch with my parents. Excellent, professional, and friendly service from Cynthia. We ate calamari, which were perfectly cooked, not greasy or tough as some other restaurants. My parents had the skirt steak and opted for potatoes instead of sweet potatoes, and the request was easily accommodated. I had the lasagna, which impressed me since the pasta is 100% home made (like grandma's). I liked that they used very tender beef rather than the usual ground meat. The portion was very generous. Chef Adrian came by our table, and my father ordered a seafood--clams, mussels, shrimp--pasta dish with the type of sauce he likes. All dishes were freshly prepared and delicious. This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we are in no way related or associated with the owners. I also appreciated the kindness shown to my father who uses a wheelchair. By the way, even the bread is excellent, and we had no issue with the bill

Go Saturday for their live jazz music. It's a nice romantic setting. The service is wonderful. Very attentive, knows when to approach the table(for those romantic times and wanting to be left alone). The food is great and the place is very clean. The restaurant is small and the owner comes out and help waiters if the restaurant gets busy. My girlfriend and I have been going for 2 years and never had a bad experience. NOTE: They only do dinner.

We held my husband's retirement dinner for 16 people at La Risata last evening. Vince was wonderful, helping me to select a few choices for a set menu, and accommodating the delivery of a special cake, and taking the group picture for us! All of our friends were impressed with the excellent food and the relaxed atmosphere. The service was terrific. It was a super evening. Thank you to Vince and his staff!

Bought Groupon for dinner. Great Italian restaurant! Fancy but cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious food, especially fried calamari which was tenderly cooked. Food portion was decent and the three cource made my big eater husband full :) Highly recommended for all Italian food lover!

Great restaurant that offered quality food. The service was fantastic and attentive. The waiter knew his menu and was very pleasant to deal with. Prices were reasonable and the portions were just right.

Lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Came here first when my husband and I were dating 14 years ago and just returned for his birthday. Portions are great, palate is clean and the service is delightful. Truly a hidden gem in North York.

We bought a Groupon to this restaurant and we're excited to visit as we saw an array of great reviews. We we arrived we were surprised by the elegant decor and how friendly the staff were. We ordered the lamb shank which looked like a turkey leg and pasta with smoked duck, in which I'm pretty sure wasn't duck, rather it tasted like ham. To our surprise the food was dull; no taste or flavour, very bland. For dessert we ordered a creme brulee and a tiramisu, which were not very good either. I'm not sure if it was a new cook or if we were expecting too much but we've been to far better Italian restaurants. The only really for the 3 star is the decor and the staff, otherwise I would've left a 1 star. Hopefully it was just a bad day.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. We ended up going here mostly because it was close by, but was not expecting too much. The food was extremely well done, cooked perfectly and authentic. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's definitely a place I would be excited to try other dishes at.

Had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant last night. Meet one of my friends here to catch up on our lives and have some laughs. What a splendid place we found! Terrific food, ambiance, and the wait staff was amazing. Always attentive but in a way that left us free to chat and not feel rushed. We will return most certainly and I would highly recommend this establishment to everyone.
