Bad food, worse service. Server was super weird. 3 times while taking our order, she was starring off into space while we said our order. We’d have to repeat ourselves because she wasn’t listening, not sure why she’d say “so what would you like?” Then immediately stopped listening. Food didn’t really make up for it. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes and when she brought me plain, I told her the mistake and she walked away, coming back saying all she could do is give me a side of chocolate chips. Like what? Why not just give me what I ordered? Both our orders of pancakes were ice cold so we barely touched them. Some of the worst coffee I’ve had. Glass of water smelled horrible, like the glass had never been washed, smelled like swamp water.

Overall experience and food were good, customer service was okay, however, there are couples things we didn’t like. First of all, most of the tables were not clean, there was still spilled maple syrup, used napkins and glasses etc. Waitresses ignored us for a while, but to be fair we were not sure if the order has to be made at the counter or they usually come and take the order, so after waiting for a while, we just went and ordered at counter. Pancakes are served with butter portions (in small plastic containers), one of which was already used, the lid was open and no butter inside, kinda killed all the appetite.

The omelettes are huge and so much flavour. Cooked fresh, with fresh ingredients. The server made the the experience even better. Great place to have breakfast.

Ordered a BLT sandwich and the lettuce wasn’t washed properly. Disgusting. I touched it with my finger and wiped it on the napkin it was brown. Other food was ok it looked clean but if they are not washing the produce then who knows what else is going on in the kitchen. Won’t be going back.

I understand it gets busy but I’ve been to other breakfast diners and have gotten better service. This was not my first time eating at sunset grill, the food is good. This time my food was cold and when I told them they just reheated it, the pancakes were hard because they REheated my food. The server we had did not do a good job, took long to bring over water when asked and also didn’t give enough cutlery. She brought the bill and the tip was not added, we were going to leave it at the table since we were paying cash but when she took the money to pay she did whatever amount she wanted for tip. Tip was not deserved tbh and I will not be going back to this location.

The place has friendly servers is a bit small but good 👍 will be back the food was good.

Bad experience, would never go back here again. Our order came out wrong twice. The waitress told us toast came with our order but ended up charging us extra for it and said she couldn’t take back. Manager is rude and got our bill wrong. We would have tipped 20%+ if they admitted their mistakes and removed the extra toast charge. Which would benefit them way more than the $2 toast plus giving good customer experience but ended getting 0% tip. Edit: Thanks, Susie, for looking into the issues and resolved the problems.

Excellent location here. The staff are courteous and fast and the food was fresh and delicious.

Great friendly service! Brittany my waitress was a ton of fun! At first she forgot about me & tried to escape out the backdoor but by the end of my meal we really hit it off!😂🤣 Got the Meatlovers wrap & it was great. Only downside is it has potato in it and your given a side of home potatoes. Be better if they let you sub that for a fruit bowl, salad or yogurt for a minimal fee. Will certainly be back! Otherwise Brittany may cry lol!😂🤣

Dined in on Jan 2nd morning. One white waitress helped me. I ordered medium rare steak. Steak was rare (what do you guys think) and COLD inside (picture is attached). I Informed waitress and she saw it, said sorry, was willing to take it away and EXCHANGE another one for me. 30 sconds later she said chef pan fried again to make it up?!?! Really???? Steak was completely chewy after that but i did not show anger in store since there are other customers.... After I paid tip, she asked me to order medium in the future.....that's very poor customer service....

Amazing place, Penny was our waitress and her amazing attitude made this a special moment. And they treated our puppy like queen!

We just had a very pleasant lunch experience today at the Lodestar location. The food was great, but Penny made the experience so much more fun. She is cordial, confident and efficient. Oh, how could I leave out that she is extremely witty. We laughed so much. This lady is FUNNY.

Visited this location again. The waitress got my order wrong. I paid for it anyway but I didn’t know for 3 piece of French toast is cost 11.5+tax. There is no fruit or wiped cream or anything. Just plain French toast cost this much is kinda unexpected. Anyway, probably won’t come back to this location again. I gave it 4 start since the owner is a very nice guy. Honest even my first visit the waiter over charged us 10 dollars since he gave us the wrong bill but he realized before we left so I think it’s ok. Too many little things go wrong every time. Had a great experience at this location! They do offer grilled cheese even though I didn’t see it from their menu. The manger at this location is simply the best. He was offering coffee for people who were waiting and even a bottled water for a kid. The waiter was very nice too he was checking in on us for a few time to make sure we have everything we need. This location is pretty busy for a Sunday morning so don’t wait until you’re starving to visit them.

First time to visit this place for sit down breakfast than drive thru take out. Good location with room for parking. Friendly service. Menu offers breakfast special during the week, Mon to Fri. Big plate can be shared for two people. I like that they have a patio to sit and have breakfast outside which feels like home sitting on your own backyard deck. I say am pleased to dine in this restau and will visit again .

Went to sunset grill the first time my friends recommended it. And I have been eating here since forever now. I love their chocolate chip pancakes. The waitresses are so friendly and the best part is they take requests without any problem and makes some changes accordingly. The atmosphere and the service is nice too. Will visit here again for sure!

The best place to have an amazing avocado toast. This is my go to place when I am lazy to make breakfast home. They are amazing hosts and provide excellent customer service.

We’ve started coming here frequently on weekends since it’s one of the few breakfast spots with patio seating in the area. Servers are always friendly and personable, even when they’re hectically busy. Food is good, highly recommend the strawberry cheesecake French toast!

Caught up with a friend i hadn't seen in a few months here and had a really nice brunch. Honestly, the food was secondary to the company. Actually, food was third. The service was exceptional. Our waiter, DERVON, was fantastic! He did all the things a good waiter should do but it was the genuine feeling of him enjoying his job or the connection he could make with people. He was funny without being intrusive and overall brought a good experience to a great experience. Good food. Great service.

Food was ok, eggs were overcooked though, and even though we got there pretty early on a Saturday morning they said they ran out of peanut butter? 🤣 Server also didn't seem very happy to be there or serve us.

You would think with all the rules and restrictions due to covid 19,Restaurants would take extra care to make sure that all cutlery plates and cups would be extra clean, today we were served coffee in a mug, the mug had someone’s lipstick all over it. When we pointed it out to the waiter he didn’t know what to say he was embarrassed.The cutlery also had smudge marks and fingerprints on it.Obviously this place is not doing their part. Worst place ever.Potatoes we’re barely warm.I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, we were both very disappointed.

It took them 50 minutes, 10:50 to 11:40 to prepare takeout sunny side up with bacon. Nobody apologized, just said they dint have a cashier. They should warn people about the wait!

It is nice cozy place. I always come here for my brunch mostly on weekends. Easy to park outside and always get the table right away. Staff is also nice and they give very nice service.

Good food. Service has some tweaking to do like checking up on the table after they got their meal and took a bite, but their returning from a hiatus with covid. Maybe we give them some time to improve

I have been coming here since they opened, Great food and vibes. The Manager always goes above and beyond making you feel like a valued customer. Great spot for breakfast that won't leave a dent in your wallet.

We have enjoyed many great dining experiences at this location. Before the pandemic all of our visits have been great...with the patio dining we have continued to enjoy our positive dining...always have had good service and excellent food. We have now been here twice within 5 days...Wonderful. With today's meal the bacon was done to perfection, nice and crispy...the guacamole toasted sandwich was out of this world. Really looking to dropping by asap for yet another yummy meal in your well set up outdoor patio.

Honestly by far the best sunset grill I have been to. The service is absolutely amazing and kind. The pancakes are so fluffy and the bacon perfectly cooked and not to mention the potatoes are just perfect. I have been to many sunset grills but this location without a doubt holds 1st place

Very kind staff. I enjoyed all freshly prepared foods except for the freshly-squeezed orange juice. For some reason, the oranges were dull and not naturally sweet as I am accustomed to. Perhaps just not a good batch?

We ate at the North York (Lonestar Road) location. Penny was our waitress & she was amazing! Super kind, friendly, attentive & helpful. The food was incredible...especially the crab cakes. Everything was hot, fresh & to our liking. The restaurant was bright & clean. We will definitely be back again :)

The Service was fast. Asked if food was ok. Their pancakes amazing!!! Anyone who loves pancakes that's the place!!! Their stake lunch/ breakfast that we had and I asked for well done to be cooked amazingly delicious!! Keep up the good work for the chef and the servers!!! 😀😀😀👏👏👏

honestly im a fan of sunset grill the food never fails to disappoint but the management here definitely disappointed me. my waiter was penni? penny? not to sure of her name completely but she was not enthusiastic and didn’t offer proper customer service, not only did i find she had a rude attitude to me but also to some of her coworkers and they seemed helpless so i am assuming she has some sort of position in management, i just think it’s always good to positive kind people in a work environment and she wasn’t one of them . she really ruined my experience here and if i do go back i hope there will be change.

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this location and was honestly astonished by the poor customer service. We waited over an hour for our food, all the tables that were seated with us and after us received their food and finished their meals while we waited. The waitress simply started avoiding us everytime we tried to get her attention to ask about our order. After an hour we decided to leave, I approached the waitress and told her we were waiting for over an hour she laughed and said "yeah". I said I wanted to leave and would have appreciated an update if there was an error made in the kitchen. I also told her perhaps moving forward she should follow up with the kitchen if there's a delay in an order being fulfilled or atleast acknowledge the table. She was incredibly rude, said she punched in our order and isn't responsible for the kitchen and what they do. She even said wow I forgot about your order, its not my fault, I'm new here and just made excuses, didn't even apologize. She then had the audacity to charge us for the 2 coffees that we had been sipping on for over an hour. So unprofessional. I get its just a sunset grill but we often go with family and friends for brunch and have good experiences. The waitress was so rude. I will not be visiting this location again and will definitely tell my friends and family to also avoid this location unless they want to wait hours for their food and be met with rude staff. Such poor customer service, honestly the owner needs to have a word with their staff, I get your a franchise and people just walk in and out but experiences like these will make someone not want to ever come back. Still mind blown with how unprofessional and rude this waitress was lol

Always stop here on our way through Toronto. Used to live nearby. Great wait staff. Always kind, courteous, quick. And the food is fine. Try this place out!

Came here for breakfast today with some friends. It was very busy and the service reflected that as it was a bit slow to get the order and food and bill, but our server was delightful and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Happy to come back regardless as the service was nice and the food was good! Tldr: busy Saturday brunch but tasty Saturday brunch

Eggs cooked perfectly, but I had to leave the potatoes. Potatoes are cooked through, but need to be browned. The flavour of the potatoes are overwhelmed by the quantity of oil and are unpalatable. The staff are very nice, friendly, and prompt.

Been here a couple of times. This time we were in a pinch for some breakfast and had great service with the takeout option and didn't wait long for it to be ready. It was delicious by the way. Super clutch

Some of the best staff I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. Such a warm welcome every time. Really great chefs in the back making the best breakfast wraps you’ll ever have, I highly highly recommend coming here for your breakfast and lunch. Yeah everything is 10 out of 10 here.
