I have been visiting this clinic for years since they had an office by lakeshore. I had ok impression toward the clinic till recent. First of all, good luck on expecting your call to be answered. I tried to call the office 10+ times on a day and the next day, no answer. I had no choice but made a trip the office to inquire something. Further, I agree with one of the reviewer said that Reception staff needs to be retrained on client service. They seem like they are overwhelmed by work volume. Overwhelmed staff cannot provide outstanding client service to patients. In fairness, the receptionist( I think there is only one now) works very hard, and Dr. Shi is great. But I would recommend Dr.Shi to hire another receptionist, even a part time.

Iโ€™ve been lucky to have Dr.Shi as my family doctor for many years. Her work is outstanding. Very professional, kind, supportive and she really cares about well being of her patients. Highly recommended!

Dear Dr. Shi, I visited your clinicโ€™s walk-in and have never been so appalled/confused by the waiting room etiquette and waiting time. From my interaction with you, you seemed to care about me as a patient and did not rush me through my session. You seemed to want to help with my medical issue and looked a bit lost amidst the scurrying back and forth between the different waiting rooms for your patients. Before seeing you, I waited for an hour. Never have I had to wait for that long at a walk-in clinic. Expectations need to be set for walk-in patients. Suggest posting a sign at reception to indicate how long it would take for walk-in clinic patients to be seen by the doctor. Rooms need to be distinguished. At one point, room #1 appeared to be a play room for a child while a different patient was receiving a flu shot in there. It felt like you were overwhelmed and I thought I could make some โ€œtake-it-or-leave-itโ€ suggestions below for improvements to your clinic. I will not be returning again, but all the best to you. I had the feeling from interacting with you that you felt a bit stuck and may benefit from an outsiderโ€™s view point. 1. Hire an effective and highly organized office manager. Your reception staff need direction. 2. Hire a walk-in doctor while you service patients who have you as their family doctor. 3. Reorganize the space of your waiting room so seats are not so cramped and waiting patients have some breathing room. 4. Retrain your reception staff on client service. They do not seem happy. They seem like they are overwhelmed. Overwhelmed staff cannot provide outstanding client service to patients. 5. Do not take on more patients than you can handle for your family doctor practice and your walk-in. From my experience and reading the reviews on this page, you seem to schedule more patients for time-slots than one doctor can handle. 6. Retrain your patients with signs in English and Chinese regarding proper waiting etiquette and respecting personal space. I had several patients cut beside/in-front of me while I was waiting in line at the reception desk. This was surprising to me as it is already a small space!

I'm not somebody who feels the need to drop positive reviews, but after seeing the insane amount of negativity on here I just have to say, Dr.Shi is a very capable and highly skilled individual. I've no doubt in her knowledge and abilities, and having a trust worthy doctor is WORTH the wait. Personally, I haven't had issues with long wait times, although I can understand that it can be a thing for walk in clinics. But all that says is this place is popular, people choose to go. I believe quality of service is subjective to each individual, I think the doctor and the receptionist are very friendly. But we all know there are lots of unreasonable customers out there who think they are the center of the universe.

I have been visited this clinic for years. Dr. Shi is knowledgeable and patient( answered all my questions). She does care about her patients. They even have holter monitors and lung function test device at the clinic that will save you another trip to a medical lab. I booked appointment every time before went there, so waiting time wasnโ€™t bad. Highly recommended.

How did this clinic even get 2.6 star rating???? This is the worst clinic I have ever been to!! The recepptionist lady is rude and always talks in a rushing tone. In my two recent visits, I didnโ€™t even get to see Dr. Shi. I met with her assistant! WTH??? Even worse, this assistant didnโ€™t even do what she said she would do for me (1) sending prescription yo a pharmacy and (2) referring me to north York general. Geez!!!! How irresponsible!!!!! Why didnโ€™t the doctor seeing her patients herself???? Is her assistant licensed to give medical advice?????

the chinese receptionist working on Jan 21 2022 was extremely rude. She started talking to her coworker mid sentence as I was asking her a question. Then she cut me off before I even finished and hung up the line. This is not the first time I've experience poor service from her. The doctor is very nice but the receptionist seriously needs to brush up their attitude

Dr. Shi genuinely cares about her patients as a family doctor. I have been seeing her almost a year. The waiting time was reasonable and she always answer my questions very patiently. She also referred me to see specialists quickly as needed. Nancy works there as a registered nurse and she injects vaccines smoothly. They also speak mandarin as well as English.

Worst experience, totally unprofessional and rude front desk. Completely unable to do different jobs at the same time, she should be fired! Also they will make you pay 100 before you see the doctor, if you have a health card they will tell you they only accept walk in patients without a health card. Don't understand how you can be so irresponsible as a health worker.

I am a walk in patient and I have never seen a doctor as awful as her! she was siting there complaining everything, rejected to do the testing, all she did is force me to go urgent hospital and do not waist her time. Patient go to walk in clinic is all because of emergency, but all she said is , if you are not bleeding to death, you should with your family doctor or go to the hospital. So I think there is no point for her open an walk in clinic then.

Dr. Dawn Shi is my family physician since she graduated from her internship/residency at U of T / Queens University a long time ago. She is very professional, complete detail with no stone un-touch, humble and polite, understanding and practice great patience care. She refers to top-notch specialists if required. She is always there when I need her. She/her staffs responded at 11 pm during Covid because she/they cares. Her fees is very reasonable if not covered by OHIP as posted (not a great white shark). Please note all my visits are covered by OHIP, there is no extra billing fees. Her staffs are very nice and helpful but extremely busy crowded with patients. The best is to book an appointment online if not urgent, walk-in only if urgent. Thank you.

I've got to give a 5 star to this clinic for the medical services provided last week. All this happened last Friday. First, the doctor's assistant was so professional and so responsible when I had a virtual appt with her. And then I called clinic and left a message about the prescription Friday night. On Saturday afternoon I noticed that there were 4 missed calls on my phone. I called back and Nancy asked if I got the medicine and if I had any issues with it. Considering how crazy busy they are everyday, I was just so moved by their responsible and professional attitudes. Thank you Dr. Shi and your medical team! Catherine

I have to give some credits to Dr. Shi. She refers the best doctors to my mom for all of her problems. She is knowledgeable and is quite competent at what she is doing and have been fixing our family medical problems. She is serious when treating each patient with real problems. People may seem offended if she says no treatment needed. The reality is that you likely don't need it not that she doesn't care :)

Dr. Shi attitude was very arrogant and provided wrong information. I told her that she used to provide me the prescription for 1 year but she said she never done that...I told her that I can show her what was written on my pills container. And she didn't say anything after she saw it. She just asks me to come back every 3 months to ask for prescription so she can claim OHIP every 3 months instead of every year.

From the front desk to the doctor, this clinic shows no patience or empathy to the patient. No proper explanation is given, and they are so arrogant and impatient when you ask questions.

Very bad service from the receptionist. Feels like you owe them money. You can get much better patient care from other clinics who treat you as a customer and with respect.

I wonder why some patients make those inexplicable comments. I guess it is because of his own illness that makes him feel bad. Water Drop is a very good clinic. Dr. Shi is a doctor with superb medical skills and noble medical ethics. Our family, relatives and friends are currently living in Niagara Falls and Waterloo, but we still choose Dr. Shi as our family doctor. Although we have to drive more than 200 kilometers to reach the clinic, we are happy because Dr. Shi and her assistants are very professional and their service is impeccable. Our principle for choosing a family doctor is: the clinic can quickly and accurately diagnose the condition for us, and can quickly and decisively provide you with the next step of treatment. They have done very well, and we are very satisfied.

The Taiwanese women sitting in the front desk is extremely rude and uncivilized. Her unbelievable negative attitude and hates to patients discouraged every patient coming to this clinic. She is clearly not suitable to the job or any jobs in this planet. If u don't like your job, please resign and go back to Taiwan!

Not sure why some people are leaving negative comments. My first experience on this clinic is really great! Few months ago, I needed a family doctor because I just arrived here in Canada. Called them and had put my name on the waiting list. After 2 months, I got a call from them saying that they have a slot for me. And they immediately booked me an appointment to have my first general check up. On the day of my appointment, I just waited for a couple of minutes and had done every test and check up that I need to do. I met Dr. Shi and she is very nice to talk to. She listened to me while I explain all my previous medications then she nicely told me everything I need to know and what to do next. Her secretaries/receptionists are very accommodating too. Whenever my test results are out, they always leave me a voicemail about everything I need to know if I wasn't able to answer their call. I am very pleased with their service! And I'm glad that I chose their clinic. Thank you Dr. Shi and to your team!
