Can't recommend enough. Definitely one of the best thing you could do for your kids is to get them physically strong and have them learn the art of self defense. It takes years to get to the Black belt but all of it is worth it. This place has one of the best coaches aka Sensei.

Hi am mohammad an i go to northern karate schools i like going twice a day or a week and i got to but some of the sensis and masters like David, julie, Brendan and some friends i see on the friday classes, and i see some kids are black belts and alduts are which i like.

My kids have been members at NKS Willowdale family since they were 4 and 5 years old and have had such an amazing experience. My kids are almost 9 and 10 years old now and am so happy at what they have been able to accomplish to date. I am continually impressed with NKS Willowdale owners and staff members who are truly passionate about martial arts and their dedication is evident in all that they do. NKS Willowdale is a tight-knit family that promotes learning, confidence and respect. When the pandemic hit almost 20 months ago, one of the things that impressed me the most was NKS Willowdale’s ability to quickly pivot to Zoom remote classes in order for the children to continue their training and maintain a consistent schedule that was very important for the kids’ mental wellbeing. From there, NKS Willowdale constantly tweaked and strived to make meaningful improvements each week clearing communicating to the parents and kids to their best of their ability given so much was unknown at the time and within the boundaries laid out by the government. NKS Willowdale truly set the gold star standards and would highly recommend to anyone thinking about enrolling their kids.

I had the pleasure of dropping by their BJJ class. The professors and the students are awesome folks. Kind, respectful and talented! I learned a lot from them and had a great time practicing and rolling. Very big and diverse class: women and men, young and old, white to brown belt. I would love to drop by again when I visit Toronto next time.

I train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at NKS, usually five times per week. Arther and Mark are fantastic instructors, and they both play a modern, technical style of BJJ. There's a great variety of training partners here, and the gym has a wonderful culture / atmosphere. Everyone is very welcoming, and people frequently stick around after class for some extra rolls, or to exchange tips for different techniques. The mats are cleaned regularly. The change room has a bathroom and a shower. If you train BJJ or you're interested in starting, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try.

By far the best activity I've enrolled my child in. The teachers are the most caring and kind individuals. The school is more an extension of our family than a business. I highly recommend this dojo for a place to learn karate.

This Dojo was extremely welcoming to me. The community is amazing which really speaks to the atmosphere instilled by the instructors here. The instruction here is also second to none, both BJJ instructors are very technical, knowledgable and very approachable and personable. The facility is extremely well kept and is just overall a great place to train.

It's not easy to do something well, but what's truly difficult is doing something persistently well. We have been students of Northern Karate Willowdale for 5 years now, and we are always impressed by the high degree of attention we receive each class. The senseis here are highly skilled and very patient. Truly one of the best places to do martial arts.

I transferred to NKS Willowdale from another dojo about 8 years ago. This dojo is exceptional for several reasons. First and foremost is the teachers' commitment to the success and personal growth of their students. Shihan Manalo and his team have a genuine personal interest in all their students, both young and old. The dojo has a large number of families training together, which really says something about the family atmosphere. I believe Northern Karate is the premium martial arts school in North America, and the Willowdale dojo is simply outstanding. Highly recommended.
