I had a great experience at Dermatelier. Front desk staff was very warm, friendly and attentive. The office is very nice and everything was spotlessly clean! Dr. Beach was so friendly and took her time in understanding my chief complaint, she was able to render treatment in the same appointment! Very happy with my visit. Will be back for follow ups. Super exciting! 100% would recommend.

Dr. Beach was amazing!! I had been turned away from other clinics telling me they could do nothing about my androgenic alopecia and that was not the case. Dr. Beach immediately had some possible solutions for me to try and was very knowledgeable about each treatment, what the recent study results were for women my age as well as having literature and handouts for me to take home that explained each drug or treatment type. Since seeing her I have had success with hair growth with the treatment she recommended and I am very happy that it seems to be working.

If you have to see a dermatologist for a serious issue and need to be seen quickly I would avoid these people at all costs. I don't know the doctor or great she is but the clinic STAFF who organize REFERRALS for this doctor waited 3+ weeks to let me know that a referral was sent BACK to my family doctor. Patients end up waiting months or longer to see dermatologists. Some appointments are critical in timing especially for cancer related skin issues. Having some incompetent secretary kick back a referral to this dermatologist for a senior has been diagnosed with a serious skin issue is JUST RUDE. Patients beware. I would not want to visit this place and I don't recommend anyone to be referred here as you might end up wasting precious time.

What can I say! Dr.Beach does it again. I had so many skin issues that several doctors had constantly told me I could never get rid of because they were "hereditary" but Dr.Beach is a major factor to my mental well-being. After the first appointment, I had dealt with unprofessional staff at the clinic but Dr.Beach had called me and did exactly what she said she would do, to help resolve the matter. I have a birthmark on my face that required removal due to a wart growing inside of it. She said she would find me a clinic that would help remove it and that she would have done it for me, had she had the tools. Now I feel horrible for even writing a negative review prior, but I guess some things worked out for the best. I take it all back and praise her for being god sent to people like me. Having a birthmark on my face had always left me vulnerable and people would ask and talk about it, thinking it was acne. I learned to live with it until now, in my 30s it has been acting out and causing me so much stress. I can't thank Dr.Beach enough for doing her best to resolve the matter. I'll be heading over soon to have it removed so I'm super excited. I owe Dr.Beach many many thanks. I'm actually in tears thinking how I no longer have to answer invasive questions from people who hardly know me, just because of the birthmark on my face. THANK YOU!!!

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Beach and her team. I'm so excited to start on my skincare journey! I loved the testing suite which was perfect and the bedside manner of EVERYONE was amazing. It is a little outside of my way, but I'm excited and glad that I have the lovely people at DA on my side when it comes to my skin!

DermAtelier is simply, the best. The establishment itself is welcoming; a bright, pure and calm ambience greets you upon arrival, and Amanda is extremely personable and professional. Dr Beach exemplifies the ideal medical professional. She takes every opportunity to educate regarding dermatological issues being discussed, in a straightforward, concise manner. She listens, assesses and then strives to provide as much information as possible, empowering the patient, offering various options and their advantages and disadvantages. She is committed, and ensures that solutions are discussed and understood throughout the appointment. Communication is exemplary - effective, educational and specific. Parking is nearby, including two GreenP lots within one minute walking distance. The GreenP app makes payment easy and fast, and DermAtelier is less than two minutes south of the 401 by car. After one visit to DermAtelier, you will look no further.

When I called Dermatelier to ask about getting a referral to the clinic, the receptionist on the phone informed me that all I would need to book an appointment is a referral from my family doctor. I had my doctor send over a referral, only for Dermatelier to decline it. When I called to ask why, I was then told by the same receptionist that I was not able to attend their clinic because I was located outside their Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). This has never been my experience with any health referral I've received in Ontario, but was told that this is specifically a Dermatelier policy. This policy is not disclosed anywhere on their company website, their contact forms, or even their socials. If this is truly the case, then receptionists should be informing people upfront about this very specific requirement before telling them to send over referrals, and clearly stating this on their website, instead of wasting people's time and the time of family physicians on referrals that will go nowhere. It's dishonest to advertise your services and your clinic as if it was open to everyone when in fact it's not - unless this is a policy that they selectively choose to apply to certain people for other reasons they are not transparent about. Regardless of what their policies or reasons are, people deserve more courtesy than being misled and having their time wasted like this.

I had a referral through my doctor to see the dermatologist here and I asked them if they were able to send me email as reminder for appointment a week before as I called in June and the appointments were scheduled months ahead and the receptionist told me yes. I receive a notice that they require me to pay $75 for not showing up to the appointment. I called them and asked to send me proof of their reminder and the receptionist asked for my email and said they see that I have been notified. I ask for them to forward it to me and I did not receive anything but they went ahead and charged me. I call them once again asking for proof that they sent reminder for the appointment otherwise I would take it up with my credit card company. Rather than sending proof (because they never did email me and lied) they call me back to tell me that they would consider my payment void but as a result my referral with them would be done and future appointments cancelled. I said sure go ahead because it seems they are a business that doesn’t value their customers and would rather operate with no sense of integrity or ethics and unjustifiably empty their clients pockets rather to admit when they are at fault. EDIT as of 10/24/22: I had to make an edit as I saw the response from DermAtelier. It wasn't a "mistake" about the receptionist telling me that on their end they were able to see that I was notified. It was lies. Lies in an attempt to justify billing me. I understand the PR work of responding to low star reviews and trying to save the image of the business, but do not try to do that by lying. It's insulting and very telling. If you want to be known as an ethical business, then the best way to do that is by operating like one.

I was referred to a dermatologist because I had some suspicious looking moles I wanted to get checked out. I chose Dr. Beach at DermAtelier on Avenue because of the great reviews. It was definitely the right choice! Not only did Dr. Beach check me from head to toe, but she took the time to explain and name each mole which was super interesting. She was quick and to the point yet warm and compassionate. You can tell she’s top in her field. Dr. Beach gave me complete peace of mind and I left her office feeling confident and relieved. The front desk receptionists were also lovely. I definitely recommend DermAtelier on Avenue if you’re looking for a dermatologist!

Dr. Beach is amazing. Very caring, knowledgeable dermatologist. Struggled with acne for years. Started seeing her about a year ago and its under control. She also offers cosmetic procedures and is wonderful explaining what she recommends and walking you through what is happening. So glad I found a black female dermatologist who understands black skin!

Dr. Beach is an amazing medical professional who takes the time to educate her patients and help them address their skin related concerns. I have seen a drastic improvement in the health of my skin after seeing her and obtaining the right creams for my needs. In addition to this nurse Elize is an asset to her team, she always takes the time to educate me on new skincare and helps me test it out. I have a full fledged skincare routine that works all thanks to the system Dr Beach has implemented via her trial room. The best reception team I have eve come across is definitely at this office, Amanda you are a literal gem! The products, education, support and trails room are all a part of the experience if you are a person of colour I would 100% recommend.

Contacted DA on Ave specifically for a LASER consultation to lighten a scar a month or two ago. I made it clear with the admin working there that I required laser treatment as I’d already used creams etc to no avail. on the area Booked an appointment ($50 dollars for a cosmetic consult mind you) I get there and the RN speaks to me for 5 minutes and basically says they don’t have laser treatments in the office & recommends I use some cream from their inventory??? Very unserious. The main reason I chose this place was to work with a Black dermatologist which as many of us know are limited in this city. But instead I just left extremely annoyed, why waste my time and money trying to sell me a service I didn’t ask for? Even more concerning their team is booking consults for services they don’t even offer. The only redeeming quality of this visit was that the reception was very friendly and kind and it’s a clean place but taking money from ppl for services you don’t offer is extremely shady and wack. That slot could have been given to someone you could actually help. Do better.

Following a my GP’s referral for a medical consultation, I had such a positive experience at DermAtalier I decided to opt for cosmetic services as well. In both cases, Dr. Beach was thorough, acutely knowledgeable, empathetic, friendly and answered all my questions. With respect to cosmetic services, she respected what I wanted addressed and the boundaries I set (no injectables… well for now). Elyse, the nurse/medical esthetician is knowledgeable and lovely. She also takes the time to answer all questions and concerns about my treatment. The front office team is equally friendly and welcoming. The clinic is bright and clean.

Dr Beach and her team of service professionals not only take the time to understand their patients needs but also work to establish trust and build rapport. The level of care and attention to detail is really refreshing and when you add impressive outcomes it just make it a worthwhile experience! It’s great to see her share her Black Girl Magic in this space!!

Love love love this place. I’ve had the most incredible experiences going to Dermatelier over the last 2 years. Everyone in this office is on top of their skills and a pleasure to interact with. Elise did such an amazing job with my laser hair removal and got me results that have me floored (with far fewer sessions than I’ve experienced at laser clinics in the past). Can’t reco enough.

As a young black women I had a rough go at seeing different doctors and dermatologists about what I’m going through all these doctors didn’t seem to care and everything was always rushed. I always make sure I’m on time to consider the doctors and the patients. I was even 35 minutes early for dr. Breach I was very excited to meet her as she is a women of colour I thought for sure she would understand what it’s like to not be heard or seen. You wait months to see these specialist the last thing you want is to feel rushed and for them to feel cold. You are coming to these people about your health you would think they have some care or compassion but nothing or the sort. I felt hurt to say the least and disappointed. She didn’t even give me a follow up to come back. I’m a new mom and lost all my hair from my eyebrows to eyelashes and now being bald it’s been a devastating journey for me and I got thee coldest shoulder from a pregnant doctor who I thought would totally understand. I was hoping from all these spectacular reviews that she was the one who would care and take the time but she didn’t. She was also very late for my appointment as I was on time and I still was rushed I thought she would at least make up for her time being late. It was definitely the worst experience for me.

The experience at DermAtelier is exceptional. The staff is warm and attentive. During my initial session, Dr. Beach assessed and clearly explained my options, including what to expect with skin recovery. I am extremely pleased with the results. DermAtelier provided helpful tips and products after treatment. I am grateful for care given to my skin needs and what it has done to improve my confidence.

I had a medical appointment with Dr. Beach after my family doctor referred me for a rash. The front office team were really nice and friendly, the office is stunningly beautiful and clean and nurse Priscilla was wonderful doing my intake. Dr. Beach reviewed my file with me and took a look at my rash and offered some good treatment options. Dr. Beach was very nice and I highly recommend. If I had extra $$ I would definitely go to her for cosmetic procedures (it seems she has a wealth of experience in botox, juvederm, etc.) Thank you Dr. Beach and team! See you for my follow up in December.

I received cosmetic procedures at DermAtelier with Dr. Beach. It was a positive experience; Dr. Beach was very professional, clear and thorough when discussing my treatment plan and knowledgable answering my pre and post treatment questions. She took her time during our visit, and I felt like my skin and face were in very skilled hands! The clinic environment and staff were very welcoming. Will definitely return to DermAtelier again!

I was one of Dr. Beach's first few patients in her new office in October 2020 and I cannot say enough to do justice to her practice, expertise and care. The staff is super efficient, super pleasant and they ensure a healthy and clean environment. Office is beautiful. But most important, of course, Dr. Beach knows skin very well. I couldn't possibly be more happier with the results. It makes me confident to have a doctor that actually listens to all my concerns, views about what I feel my skin would benefit from, rather than dismissing my thoughts and perception. She provides advise in a very concise and to the point manner. Although her office is SUPER busy, they manage very well in taking good care of everyone. Special thanks to Dr. Beach and Amanda!

I never thought that going to a Doctor’s office, could be a joyful experience – but it is – I don’t know how else to describe it! There’s a warmth generated in this office. Not to mention their, efficiency and kindness – it sets them apart. The physical office is spotless and well appointed. And the surgical tray – you’ve never seen gauze layed out the way it is here LOL. Yeah sure it’s a small thing and most people wouldn’t even notice – but I think it says a lot ! Oh yeah and the most important distinction is Dr. Beach – she exemplifies exceptional thoroughness, precision, and a remarkable knack for explaining things comprehensively.

I recently started seeing Dr. Beach and unfortunately I did not get the results that I had hoped for. I was prescribed creams for my hypopigmentation that didn't help the white spots but instead caused the surrounding skin to turn much darker (hyperpigmentation). I also did a PRP and micro needing which was ridiculously expensive and showed very minimal improvement. The receptionist is very pleasant and welcoming and the office itself is very nice. I felt Dr. Beach didn't really take the time to listen to my concerns, she was always professional but very distant. When working with clients who suffer from skin issues that cause insecure, more compassion and empathy should be shown and I just never felt that her.

January 31 2024 Replying to your response that’s great so what about the two times I showed up to my appointment that was booked and no one called me to tell me to re schedule until I showed up at the clinic and sent me back home after booking it again? What about my time wasted and gas getting there? No one compensated me for you guys wasting my time to come there without informing me until I showed up in person?I don’t see you guys covering my gas wasted when it was your clinics fault Or you guys going to act like you don’t know when that was cause I remember the dates! I have been with this dermatologist for almost 4 years now. The first two years I looked liked I was dying from a disease because she couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. Even tho I mentioned methotrexate that my friend told me was on and worked it took how many’s years for her to finally let me try it and what do you know it worked wasted two years of my life in pain and agony. I show up to every appointment I get notifications a week before my appointment. And I never got one in November but has the nerve to charge me 75.00 dollars because that was my fault? There was two appointments I drove to from border line Pickering and when I got there they told me I had to reschedule and sent me right back home but funny they can’t compensate me for the time and gas that I wasted? Very unfair and money Currently looking for a new one cause you can never get a hold of them and they can never try and reach out but yet you have to pay ridiculous the staff are stuck up and rude they think they’re pish posh all they care about is making you come there so they can get paid for nothing
