😠 I had the worst experience at this LCBO and WILL NOT be returning! Today me and my mother went to pick up some things for a friends party for the long weekend, and unfortunately had to deal with a very rude cashier, even though we were not at her till. She decided to scream at my mother in the store... People often mention selection, store, location, cashier, staff, mother, LCBO, small, rude, good,

This is a micro location of the LCBO. It is handy if you passing by Empress Walk as a pedestrian or as a subway rider who will go through the North York Centre stop. It has a cross section of the best selling products and sizes from the vast selection found in other LCBOs like Bayview Village and Summerhill and also online. Some pre-chilled drinks are also availavle. The LCBO's website can let you know if what you want is available before you head here. Cheers!

Very small LCBO location. Good only if you live in the area and are looking to pick up some common items. There is a larger location just south of here at Sheppard if you are looking for more variety.

Despite the lengthy cashier line, my wait was unexpectedly short. This store consistently boasts a comprehensive inventory. The customer service was commendable, and the store maintained a clean environment. Even on a Friday night around 9:00 pm, all aisles were fully stocked.

Disorganized and rude staff. Even with a small queue of customers, the cashiers don't even bother to signal for the next customer. They're fine with just chatting away with each other despite making eye contact with the customer. Avoid this location if possible.

They have one standard cooler I go for in the fridge. My other goto is available. Not a wide selection but convenient location. No real complaints. Can't expect a full variety everywhere. They're always stocked with the original gin smash which is my latest fave so we're on good terms ;)

Fairly limited in variety, especially in the beer fridge. But given the limited space and prime location, the convenience and access trumps the negatives.

If you need someone to yell at you for closing a fridge door you didn't realize they were using while you were having a conversation on the phone then come here, you won't be spoken to as a person.

Very limited selection compared to other LCBOs. Micro sized store doesn't hit the spot for me.

I went to this location for a return and was asked why I wanted to return. They then requested for my ID. Upon my initial purchase I used debit. They returned my money in cash. The whole affair was utterly ridiculous, as were the representatives.

Had a generally good experience. The two women assisting had different vibes – one seemed a bit high and sad, while the other, possibly the store manager, appeared angry

It was my first time at an LCBO. I wanted to buy red wine for a vegetarian meal with a friend who enjoyed red wine. Knowing little about wines, I wasn't sure how to make a selection. Scott asked all the right questions and suggested Pinot Noir. I went into the store feeling lost, and I left the store feeling great!

The store manager is both approachable and professional when posed questions by clients. Staff are awesome, and the Empress Walk location always has a great selection of beers and lagers , both imported and domestic brands.

Everytime i have visited a certain staff member is always rude. I think she has been working there for a long time. She will approach you and act inconvenienced that she is helping you even though shes the one who approached you. I would say try to avoid her but it is a small lcbo and she seeks you out. Just a warning to others going to shop there.

I usually go in quietly. Get what I need and leave. This incident happened on May 18, 2023 at around 10:55am at the Empress LCBO location I go in to buy some liquor, I knew specifically what I was going to buy so I go in and get it, I go up to the cashier, I have earbuds on, greet the cashier, pay for what I bought, card goes through etc etc. After the sale goes through I ask her for a bag (I'm not going to be walking the street with a bottle of liquor) cashier says she asked me before (from what I recall we had no interaction other than hello), but my earbuds were on and I may have missed it. I Apologize, remove my earbud and respectfully ask again. Anyways the cashier said I was disrespectful (I was stunned) left wanting to speak to the manager but had work in the next hour so couldn't stay. Please LCBO don't ever treat your customers the way I was treated today. Left the store feeling like garbage. THAT'S NOT VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This is a good store for a non special situation. They have the basic in this unit that's smaller.

One of the few lcbo stores off the subway line in north york. Selection of hard liquor is limited as It's a small store. There is a large selection of wines however and a few interesting choices for beers as well.

Doesn't have a big selection of wines, especially organic wines. Very very small. Better know what they have before going and being disappointed.

  • 3/5 Kristi B. 2 years ago on Google
Small and clean with a decent selection. I wish they prioritized local microbrews over imports and major beer companies in their fridge.

I had the worst experience at this LCBO and WILL NOT be returning! Today me and my mother went to pick up some things for a friends party for the long weekend, and unfortunately had to deal with a very rude cashier, even though we were not at her till. She decided to scream at my mother in the store because I picked up a bottle to buy, and unfortunately left my ID at my boyfriends house. She requested to see my ID, and when I said I didn’t have it she began to raise her voice — to the point where other customers were looking at us. She left my mother in tears when she left the store; not only did she belittle her, she made it seem as though my mother was trying to buy alcohol for a minor, which could not be farther from the truth. After calming my mother down we returned to buy the bottle, now having my mother grab it instead of me— and though we went to another cashier she still succeeded at being rude once again. After being told we could not buy the alcohol, we asked the reasonable question of “if we could return to buy said bottle” to the cashier who was serving us, and Denika chimed in once again in a rude tone saying “not at this LCBO you won’t”. After this we called for a manager to which she asked for him to “explain to this woman why she can’t buy alcohol for 18year old”. After explaining to the manager that I was not 18, he calmly explained the law to us and ensured we knew why this was happening. I understand that working retail is hard, as I have done it before, but that does not excuse Denika’s rude attitude. If she had calmly addressed us we would have left calmly, however, she made us feel as though we were less than her, as well as making my mother feel like she was doing something wrong. I commend the other workers for being so kind and understanding, but I cannot help but be disgusted by the way Denika treated me and my mother today.

👍 I don't drink but this LCBO is nice and spacious with lots of selection, and they provide wine tasting at certain times. There's also a refrigerated section where you can buy drinks already chilled, such as beer.
