I did not find this store as gourmet. Vast majority of items here you can find in regular stores for much better price. Salad bar has nice options but it’s so so overpriced. Selection of cheese is not great, deli is overpriced as well.

My wife's family has been shopping at Brunos for over 50 years and have been loyal. We moved into the neighbourhood 11 years ago and looked to continue shopping here and we did. When the pandemic hit, we doubled down doing all our shopping here to keep things local, however were consistently disappointed in the poor quality US beef, not high quality at all and "Brunos Own Hotdogs" which are NOT homemade, but rather boxed cheap hotdogs, but charges 12$ for 5. But we looked past it. However last week I had enough. I went in to purchase some lunch meats. When asked if they to provide me full slices of "Brunos Own Roast Beef", they said NO. They were planning on slices the ends of the roast beef for me, the dried out, not rare pieces. I asked to speak with the manager as they charge 18$ per pound. I mentioned that in all deli's they would cut from the inside to the outside and either sell the ends as ends at a discounted price, or throw them away. She said, no we will not do that as that would be waste for them. This is craziness, poor service and simply another sign of greed. I am very disappointed. However, I now have all my family members not shopping there, therefore they lost a ton of business. We now go to Caprae & Suidae Butchery a few blocks away with GREAT meats, service and high quality. Thank you Bruno's for showing your stripes.

Just bought what was supposed to be medium ground chuck. We wanted it for burgers. In a word, it was horrible. The meat even before cooking was completely dry. I've never seen meat like this. Unfortunately we purchased 22.00 worth. Have a few more burgers to use up. Will probably just put it on pasta sauce to hide the dryness.

Horrible customer service experience with their butcher counter, manager in particular. Brunos has been my go-to for meats for years. Today I purchased two rib steaks and noticed they had a distinct foul smell upon preparing them. Never before have Bruno’s steaks had any smell they are always odourless. I brought the steaks back to the butcher counter and the manager disagreed about the smell. He made no effort to replace the meat or resolve the issue but just refuted my claim that they smelled bad. I returned the meat and will not return to Bruno’s in the future. I went down the street and purchased two rib steaks from another butcher that had absolutely no smell.

Lovely products but I will not be shopping produce from them since so much of it is packaged in plastic and Styrofoam. It is time for stores to be more environmentally conscious!

Bruno's is a excellent community specialty grocer with a very good selection of meats, fish, deli and produce. I stop there regularly for their wide selection of barbecue herbs, ribs, spices and sauces. I recommend them highly over chain grocery stores.

Bruno's is a great source of butcher cut meats and fresh seafood without the snootiness of Pusateri's! The have an amazing prepared salad selection. There is fresh produce available and great selection of better quality Italian pasta and canned goods. Need a unique cut of meat, or something special, ask for Patrick in the butcher area. He's the best!

I stopped into the Avenue Road location on my way home from work. Everything I bought I was disappointed in. The mandarins were full of seeds - like nothing I had ever seen, the blackberries were mouldy (my bad for not looking more closely, their bad for having them on the shelf for 9.99), the kumquat's were tasteless - and I bought 2 containers, as I was excited that they even carried them, the organic raspberries were also, 100% completely devoid of flavour. The 2 pack of poppy seed Montreal bagels were stale and the rye bread was out of date. Again, my bad for not looking, theirs for having it on the shelf. And there you have it. Bruno's USED to be a great store, many years ago however, and is no longer. When I compare our supermarkets here in the GTA to anywhere else in the world, I am completely and utterly left sad and embarrassed.

The service here is excellent. Advice from the butchers is always given kindly and in great detail. We especially love the marinated vacuum sealed chicken.

Bruno knows his meat, fruit and vegetables. Top quality. I know him from back in the early 1980's. He was a butcher at a large chain supermarket. He opened a store in Woodbridge on Nickel Gate before opening his Avenue Road store. And keeps growing because of exceptional quality at fair value.

Great small grocery store. Pricey for items that you can get at other grocery stores but good deli/butcher and nice seafood.

Smalle boutique grocery store with good selection of meats and prepared foods. Has all of the basics and then some on top of that. A little small so quantities not large but restocked often so never really has empty shelves - even during the holidays. Only potential drawback is that you pay for the convenience and quality; it is more expensive than your average grocery store.

Just waited on hold for +26 minutes with the Avenue location, after asking someone on the line if they have their mason jars of chicken consume in stock. No response 26 minutes later - hung up out of frustration. Thanks for wasting my time.

We typically visit Bruno's for the meat and fish. While we never had complaints about the quality of the meat...the service at the meat counter leaves room for improvement. There is an older "gentleman" working there that consistently wakes up on the wrong side of the world. Rude...abrupt...high handed. Ruined my experience. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the fishmonger is a 6 out of 5 - everything you would expect in a client interaction and then some!!

I’m very impressed with the Customer Service that this store has routinely given me and the variety of various foods they sell. The people who work in this store really know what they’re talking about and want you to leave with the best possible choice of food(s) that you came there to buy, so that you genuinely enjoy what you eat at home. While the prices at this store may be a bit pricey - at the "End if The Day" - you will KNOW you and your stomachs got the Best Bang for Your Buck!

Butcher either lied or doesn’t know the product; neither is good. He ‘upsold’ me to this steak (from a AAA dry aged rib eye) saying it’s was ‘the best’. I specifically asked is it Canadian; there is zero reason to support US beef industry. Was assured it was Canadian, but with US grading to show how good it was. Thought I’d try it. Well, I was curious; turns out there is no such thing as Canadian graded/labeled USDA beef. Countless studies w American consumers show there is no taste difference. Personally, this particular steak was very tough ; sometimes it’s just the animal not the grade, so that’s not my ‘beef’. Know what you’re selling, advise customers in good faith, and know your suppliers. As a separate issue, Canadian AAA ribeye is 20% lower price per lb., but I knowingly paid more. Would not do that again. Should have stuck with the usual.

I bought some bagels yesterday, but found out they were all moldy when I had breakfast this morning. At first, I didn’t want to bother returning them for just a few bagels. However, I felt that this was a serious issue and the store should be aware of it in order to ensure the food safety of the community residents. But when I got to the store, the service stuff seemed to encourage this kind of thing often and said without any apologies. “okay, we will give you a refund. Four dollars. Cash or card?” It’s a pity. I am disappointed with their attitude!
