👍👍 Loved the duck Bao! The two we got were really filling and had so much flavour. The same goes for the ribs rice box. What I loved the most was the flavour of the cabbage, there was a lot of "wok hei" flavour to it that I don't find in many places anymore People often mention duck,

*update* looks like the google site has been updated to just Pear, the Chinese restaurant, and after going today for their BOGO opening special was shocked to see how many Baos there are for under $10 normally, as I recalled it was only 2 Baos at that price when they just started. The menu didn’t make it clear there were so many and so I didn’t try it before, but pleasantly surprised. Will be back for Baos. ....oh wait, or was it an accident and they gave us two extras by mistake?! Bao itself is legit. Took a star off for finding bone in the duck, and while I understand how hard it is to debone but Baos shouldn’t have bones. Updated to 4/5 stars. *update* we ate it two days in a row and both days we had stomach aches so...not sure if it was too greasy or if there was something else... but dropping back to 3 stars ——- Review below for Upper East Food Club 3/5 stars: Wanted so badly for this place to be good, but this is nothing like ‘Annex Food Hall’. Such a long opening timeline, and yet this place is extremely confused of its own brand. The layout is most definitely designed pre-COVID and they should have changed right away, but clearly didn’t. There’s a lack of plexiglass in the kitchen and I’m worried about sanitary cross contamination. The mishmash of shops range from expensive desserts (cakes and bbt) to mid-priced sushi and affordable Chinese food, as well as a flower store at the entrance. Stores definitely lack signage or name tags or prices at this point, so maybe it’ll get better, but at this point I can’t see myself revisiting despite trying everything. Looks like some of the original places promised pulled out but can’t remember which ones.

The bao burgers are super tasty with an amazing fat to meat ratio! This made it juicy and delicious. The buns were soft and fluffy! People have been coming here for the rice boxes, but I feel the bao has been underestimated here! Definite contender for this amazing eatery. There wasn’t much in terms of service, but I didn’t get any bad vibes from the staff here either. I would still come back just to fill up on that amazing duck bao and lamb bao! Great job! And so happy you’re in the neighborhood! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for more amazing pics and content!

This is one of my favorite spots when I’m craving for delicious baos! Located inside Upper East Food club, Pear serves a variety of fresh and fluffy baos. They have vegetarian options as well, so there’s something for you if you’re not into eating meat! What I enjoy the most is how soft and airy their buns are, you can tell it’s made fresh! I usually order the duck bao, but decided to try their new pulled pork series! I got the Texas BBQ pulled pork and Thai sweet chilli pulled pork as they’re only here for a limited time. The filling was very juicy, tender and I liked the Smokey flavour it had. Between the two, I probably prefer the Texas BBQ one, but both were tasty! Overall I wasn’t disappointed and definitely recommend giving them a visit if you haven’t!! IG: AYENOMZ

It looks like they’ve changed their recipes, in the past the toppings were nicely marinated and taste great. Went today and it looks like they’ve changed to a cooked meat add sauce to it model. Very disappointed. Went from 5 star to this.

Cute place to order food or desserts. Mschi machi drinks was a popular choice. Cafe bora don't have their crepe cakes always in stock.

At first my friend and I walked past the store front because we were looking for Torched Press Sushi but the sign said "Upper East Food Club...later on we found it that this place actually holds a few small shops - Torched Press Sushi, Machi's bubble tea place (sorry, I forget the real name), some scrambled egg sandwich place, and a Chinese Bao wrap. All of these are take out places but they do have a few seats for ppl to sit and eat. I'm not sure what their policy on that is though at the moment. Overall it was a clean set of stores.

I love my bao, and when I came across Pear at Upper East Food Club I knew I had to stop by and give it a try. Overall my impression was pretty meh. The aesthetic of the restaurant was pretty cool which got my hopes up. The bao itself was just okay. I ordered the duck bao as I had seen many people mention it in their reviews. The bao bun itself was nice with good texture. But the filling with the duck meat was very underwhelming. It was greasy and lacked the flavor punch I was expecting. On top of that I had found bones in each of my buns. $10 for meh bao is unjustifiable to me.

Their baossss, omgggg, the signature duck was so delicious that my partner and I came back for seconds. If you love peking duck, this is a must try! Also, their rice boxes is very reasonable, food is very flavorful and portions are great for the price. Sustainable packaging too!
