Awful selection, high prices and worse service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Empty when you walk in and nothing here is worth the asking price. Lad won't let me into a changing room with my wife to see she looks without the whole store seeing her. She says only boutique and luxury stores allow that. We were at Walmart yesterday and had no problems going onto a fitting room together. Avoid this place.

HBC has always been the best department store. Great brands and quality clothing at great prices. Their Bay days event is the best. Staff are friendly. Washroom are cleaning. Old Zellers portion returns on main floor. Nice nostalgia. Free WiFi.

This used to be a great Hudson Bay but they closed off the second floor entirely and squished everything to the main floor. The problem is that this store is no longer fully's stocked unlike say the one in Markville Mall. This store has become a shadow of what it used to be. It's almost looking like a clearance store.

Terrible experience here! I always like Hudson Bay, but I went to this location yesterday afternoon around 5pm (November 17, 2023) and I have never been so angry at a sales rep ever. She was working at the jewelry and watches section, don’t know if she’s assigned there everyday but she was absolutely horrible. First she messed up my Neo credit card application, did not give me the terms and conditions to accept and did not give me my temporary card printed so I can use. When she couldn’t solve the problem she sent us off to get help from other cashiers so she can tend to other customers. Luckily the staff were nice enough to help me out. I was there more than 30 mins trying to resolve the problem. Afterwords when that was done I went to her to get my discounts, she was telling me it doesn’t apply to all items, and if I didn’t receive enough discounts already. I means that is so rude! Totally pissed me off. She was lazy and was trying to leave me to half way saying she has other customers waiting. Am I not a customer too? Was I not waiting there too? This is not acceptable! I hope managers are looking into these reviews and get these people corrected!

absolutely appalling. this store is a humiliation to st. catharines. incredibly rude staff, the amount of arrogance and disrespect they treated my family with is unacceptable. two employees in particular, an old man with glasses and an old woman without. both on floor 2. this was on a saturday, i do not recommend this location to anybody. they do not deserve customers.

Absolute horrible service. I went furniture shopping with my friends. We sat on a chair for around 30 seconds feeling if it was the right fit for my home as lt looked very good. I was immedietly yelled at and told to get out. Later I went back and laid on a bed as I was searching for a new mattress. I laid down with my friend for 15 seconds before getting screamed at and kicked out by a woman named Barbara. Every other employee is rude but not as rude as Barbara. I do not understand this horrible behavior as I was not breaking any rules and all I was doing was shopping for a mattress and furniture for my new home. I am never coming back because of Barbara. You lost a customer and $2000 as I will not be buying the mattress.

I absolutely love the Hudson's bay! This store carries the best brands with amazing quality. The employees are great and the store is nice and fresh with a nice changing area. Always top brand shoes and clothing. Best time to buy is during there specials when you can catch fantastic deals up to 40-50% off. Customer service is also great! Never had an issue with returning an item.

I'm new to the city and I have had so much LUCK at this store. The clothes are of quality and built to last and the last time I was in....a lovely young lady came up to me and said the kindest sweetest things. She just blew me away. Thank you! I LOVE this store.

I am not sure how these stores expect to make money 6:00 p.m. on a week night they close their doors a lot of people are leaving work at 5:00 p.m. when you get there they are closed. We were just in a lock down for a year and a 1/2 and I would think that they would try to recoup as much business as they could now... Disappointing to see so many businesses closing so early... I get there might be a shortage of staff but there are still people out there that want to work..

I had an amazing experience there with Cindy , a salesperson. She is a lovely young lady, she is always very fast , professional and polite. I love Hudson's Bay . I buy lots of clothes and shoes for the whole family . I mostly shop online, but sometimes also in the actual stores. They have great deals and sales. It is always a great experience for me.

Bad Customer Service at The Bay I have almost lived in this area for 12 years and have shopped at Centrepoint mall and Hudson’s Bay for the same amount of years. The customer service has not improved at this Bay location - preCovid or post. It is still a 2 star rating because it takes forever to check out and pay at the cashier. Either there is lack of staff or the cash register is broken. Today, I waited at least 20 minutes to pay for a jacket. It was ridiculous. This bad customer service is in the Ladies’ wear and intimates area. I will be sure to avoid this location from now on.

It's one of the older Hudson Bay stores, which is why it's not as exciting. Many HBC stores are nothing to write home about, but this one has a whiff of terminality about it, like something almost on its last legs. Keep in mind things are still very tidy and neat, though as expected without a salesperson in sight.

Transparency: while I consistently seek the good in most everything, the Bay is no longer the wonderful shopping experience it once was. I visited a physical Bay store today, after 3+ months of miserable experience trying to buy and send... a $100 Bay gift card, online... to a couple duly registered ... In the Bay's official wedding registry... to repeatedly find... each time (and only after re entering all the info and pressing pay) that the Bay is consistently out of stock of their own Bay gift cards!?!?!? And calling the Bay customer service phone reps confirms they are based somewhere else in the world and have no interest or access tools to help. Finally, seeking in person support, I physically went into this Bay store, a landmark location in Toronto (Yonge+ Steeles). Even after I showed them clear screen shots of the Bay wedding registry payment screen, showing the out of stock gift card, for 3 months... there was zero interest to help. Why? Because they claimed this Bay store has no access to the Bay wedding registry! They suggested I go to ANOTHER Bay store, 'in case they had access' ?!?!? If none of this is making sense, imagine what 3+ months of this feels like!!! After declaring I'd escalate this, someone came from behind the cashiers to say she'd help if I could give them the registry #. I referred them back to the Bay screen shots which had been displayed to them this entire time, but none they found, had the registry #. The screen shots clearly did show the wedding party name, my name and my Bay rewards account #. So now, we had achieved nothing after 20 minutes into the in-store episode of this Bay-created and Bay-fueled fiasco. Minutes later, while I was frantically still fumbling with my phone to search for the registry #, yet another store person showed up, with a printed copy of the correct registry, and a Bay gift card. So 3 months and much aggravation later, with still zero explanation or empathy from anyone at the Bay, I paid for the $100 gift card, but now am on my own to get it, embarrassingly late, to the now-married 3 months couple, in Montreal. Respectfully, I will think twice about shopping at the Bay. .

I'm not sure who makes decisions at what is stocked in your store but they sure are dropping the ball. The Bay has nostalgia for me since it reminds me of being a kid in the 90s and going shopping there with my mom. But it's sadly becoming so dated and it seems nothing is being done to keep the store modern and afloat. For example, St. Catharines does not have a Levis store (the outlet mall Levis stocks all the low grade demin only). I went to the Bay to get some authentic Levis and the selection was so outdated. You pretty much only stocked high rise skinny jeans. Why not stock up on the trends, the wedgie jeans, the ribcage etc but in the real Levis denim with the leather patch. This would get some younger people back into your store and some more clientele.

One of the worst Hudson Bay I have ever visited to, on asking for assistance the employee tells me to go to another counter, rushed my order like I they were doing a favour selling me!! Not at all polite. I bought perfume worth 200$ & when I asked her any question she tells me I don’t have time I need to help someone else!! It was a horrible experience. Never coming back

Second floor and their washrooms are closed to public. Store has focused on selling mostly clothing, toys and shoes. All products are displayed on the first floor which makes it easier to navigate but also less variety of inventory sold.

Worth jewelry ever ! Worth staff I bought a 10K Yellow Gold neckless online and received it one month later. As soon as my daughter wore it, the chain broke and the stone fell out and she could not find it. I was told that it was my fault that I lost the diamond by The Bay's customer service. The employee was so rude and aggressive. In my opinion, the reason why a gold neckless breaks after the first day is its low quality. The store should take responsibility for the low quality of the product and at least take it back!

This store will close to the end of May/22. All departments are on the first floor. Olsen have amazing sale. Items for only $10 and $20. This nice top is paid only $9.99 + tax. Regular price was $129.00

It was a quick stop in... but I found some amazing deals!! This is a smaller location, and it was easy to navigate between the departments. 2 employees offered assistance during my visit, which was really kind!! Tbh, I would have given it 5 stars, but the cashier took 8 mins to serve me, while she chatted with another customer who was not making a purchase. It was a strange situation, and there were no other staff nearby to assist me. The cashier was pleasant with me, but made no apology for the unnecessary wait time.

Hudson Bay has been my choice for clothing in the past decades. The main reason is choice. Several brands offer their products at Bay and this allows you to browse different material, price points and styles and choose the one you like most. The rewards system is also a good one and I’ve been using it all the time. Basically you collect points with each purchase and you can choose to redeem them later. Hudson’s Bay is also good for replacing or refunding in case you don’t like what you want They also have an online store. You don’t have to necessary go to the stores although I prefer to try on what I want to get While the prices might be on the higher end, there are many deals and discounts going on throughout the year including bay days.

They have a central checkout now vs departmental checkout. I assume due to covid. Expect longer wait times...especially at peak times. Staff really tries!

Store very understaffed. Not one employee in jewellery and watches. Several showcases had three front glass removed so it's absolutely easy to steal! The rest of store was extremely old to the Hudson's standards. I can't understand how head office can allow a store to be in such condition. St. Catherine's deserves better

Dinosaur of a location, but given the financial status of the company, renovation not a priority. No real value with pricing, simply visited location to scout an item to purchase through Rakuten where at least I saved a buck or two compared to buying in store, free home delivery as well.

Service is terrible. I ordered a mirror on line and it came with a scratch in the middle (it happens, but here is the opportunity for the Bay to make it better and wow us with customer service) NOPE. I called the call centre and after waiting for over 30 mins, the agent sent me an email to take a picture of the scratch and while i was doing that he hung up on me. I emailed him my phone number along with the picture and waited patiently for a call back which did not happen, so today i tried the online chat function and they told me to call the call centre. I have now received 3 emails from the call centre saying they have resolved my issue and I still have a scratched mirror and don't have a new one, so clearly it is not resolved. Looks like i will have to return the mirror (note: Wayfair and the rest of their competition would not send me out in the middle of a pandemic to return an item that was damaged and that they had a photo of) and they wont send me a new one until they receive mine, credit me and i re-order (which means i have to call the call centre again to receive the free shipping). Really disappointing. Guess this is why the organization is struggling to stay relevant. Wake up!

They have an excellent selection. My favorite cosmetic counter has been Clarins. However. the last two visits to this counter have not been favorable. The product is still excellent but the service has been downright awful. The employee was disinterested in what l wanted and had poor product knowledge or at least no interest in displaying this knowledge. l ended up going to another cosmetic counter with a friendly, knowledgable employee eith a PERSONALITY. I bought over three hundred dollars of product, plus some free gifts. Multiply this by at least 20 clients who would spend at least $200. It adds up. l am not hard to please but l DO ask for attention when l am spending my hard earned money.

Department stores are hard to shop at when there is so much more online. However we went looking for a good deal on a duvet and nothing beats being able to make comparisons in person. You can't tell the difference by looking online.

I am shocked that a store like Hudson Bay deals with a crocked company like Forever 21. When you purchase an item from the Bay that is part of Forever 21 and need to return it, you have to mail it back to Forever 21. The Bay will not do refunds for their items. When you mail it back to Forever 21, they do not process a refund for you they just ignore the fact that they received it. I sent my items back by Canada Post and as per my tracking number it was received by them on September 2, 2021 this is now the end of September and I still have not received my refund. If you do order from them be very selective what you order so you don't lose out like I did. UPDATED October 18, 2021 I finally got my refund a month and a half later. This doesn't change my rating. I'm still not pleased.

I had an assistance from Albert whose knowledge and experience helped me to make the right choice in terms of quality and budget. I highly recommend to look for assistance from Albert if you need to buy a mattress.

I went in for an exchange today, and expected to be in-and-out, maybe waiting for 30-45 minutes max. Well. That wasn't the case. The line-up to get into the store was decent, about a 10-15 minute wait. But the cashier line up... OH NO. That took over an hour, and that was with 4 cashiers working, and one assisting from their high-end cosmetics/fragrance department. 80% of the guests had a ton of returns or exchanges. By the time I got to the front of the line, an elder lady with her mother cut the line and demanded to be serviced first - claiming that her mother was tired and didn't want to wait in the line. She made a huge fuss. I completely understand if her mother was tired and was unable to stand on her feet for a long period of time - I completely understand. However, the mother was sitting on her walker while the daughter was pushing her around. There were tons of elders (in wheelchairs or with canes or walkers ... etc) who were PATIENTLY lining up for the cashiers. Deondre, the cashier who had to assist this lady, was absolutely phenomenal in the way he handled the situation. He did not budge. He did not back down. He calmly asked the lady to please join the line up. If others can do it, so can she. If her mother was tired, she can sit (she was already sitting on her walker without her mask on), and take a breath while the daughter lines up. Some people might have found him disrespectful, but I was amazed by the way he handled the situation. He did not give special treatment and prioritize some customers over others. While this location may have "lost" the lady's business, they definitely gained mine, only because of Deondre alone.

Extremely disappointed with my customer service experience with the Bay. As a customer who has been an avid shopper at the Bay , I will now refrain from shopping at your store in the future. In short, I ordered all my gifts online at the Bay well before Christmas. When my package arrived it was missing an item. No problem, it happens. When I called the hotline number provided to state an Item was missing, the representative reassured me that it was on its way. Flash forward 2 weeks later and my missing item still not delivered. Called for the second time, the representative informed me that item was out of stock and they had to order it from a different location. Ok no problem, it happens. This representative reassured me this package would come in time for Christmas. Flash forward a week, still no package. I called back for a third time to have the representative say that if I wanted my item in time for Christmas that I would have to drive to Toronto to pick it up? I live in Niagara. Now I have to scramble to purchase a gift 2 days before Christmas. Representative while apologetic did not offer any solution to make it right. Extremely disappointed.

Honestly I enjoy shopping at the Bay but today I had the worst experience with an employee her name is Julia or Julie. I went into the store to return an order she made it look like I stole the product even though I showed her the receipt. I then purchased another Item, before leaving the store I noticed that the item had the safety tag so I went back she was there again and and I told her that the the tag is still attached and I gave her the receipt to check she made it look like I stole the item again! Another team team member who was standing next to her told her all you have to do is take out the safety tag she kept staring at the receipt and checking the date even though the other team member checked already and she gave me a very rude attitude she kept looking at me in a way that I am a thief and unwelcomed in the store. Honestly speaking I will be going to another location if I want to shop at the Bay again.

Do not count on curbside pickup. Called, called for 20 minutes, nobody answered. I went in and told the person at the door that I had been calling for curbside pickup for 20 minutes. She didn't acknowledge anything wrong with that and told me to go to the customer service. Once there, i also told the customer service associate that I had been waiting for 20 minutes for curb side pick and she also disregarded the act. They don't care. I was pretty upset at the horrible customer experience.

I give 5 stars to Beverly in fragrances department for her outstanding customer service in this Hudson’s Bay location. She helped me to do refund with my items which I ordered online and if she weren’t there I probably had to go to Yorkdale mall. I have to add that all of them were super friendly in that section with big smiles on their faces opposite to the other parts of the store! Hopefully the Bay will get to hire and train more staff like her and her team in the near future. Thank you Beverly :)

Since around 2015 the quality of merchandise seemed to tank. There is still great people and wonderful service, however it is not the same Bay we were used to before.

I will give The Bay five stars for some of their superb sales throughout the year. The negative stars are due to a very cluttered, confusing and unappealing set up of their inventory - especially their clothing inventory. And most of the staff are not helpful or genuinely polite.

Store is only on 1 floor now, but still lots of variety. Had difficulty finding the checkout but staff was super helpful so I gave 5 stars. The helpful staff made the difference. The clothes we bought were pretty good too.

Prices became way too expensive. Did not get any assistance from staff and the things I was looking for weren't on inventory. Easy to find stuff online

The best customer service ever, 2 assistants went through every part of ladies wear to help find what I was looking for. So gratefull that customer service still very much part of this store

Nice store as far as department stores go. Sales people were very helpful in finding items.

Location I visited at the Pen Centre in St.Catherines, most associates seemed racist and appeared to have an attitude. Was spoken to differently when I was waiting for a change room. I was waiting to cash out, I saw two available cashiers stare at me without offering to cash me out. Was overall an uncomfortable experience.

Just went to Walmart. When we were at the Bay my wife bought a bra for$53.99.While in Walmart same bra $29.97.No more shopping at the Bay.

The lady at the fragrance counter was really polite and friendly. It also helped that she knew her stuff! Found exactly what I wanted and cool gifts as well. The only downside to this location is the small size. Other than that the staff that I dear with were great!

I was very disappointed, I went there specifically for one or two items, the person in the department was not helpful in any way shape or form, so I will be looking for it when I am back home. I was very disappointed to say the least. I give it one star. Only because the other departments looked like they have been well maintained, and that is all I have to say about that!

I was in the store recently after many years. I needed to find a specific style of bra for the dress I'm wearing in my daughter's wedding. This is where I miss Sears...the lingerie department there was staffed with people who knew their product and would gather options up for you while you're in the dressing room. While in the Bay's lingerie department the one young girl there was like a deer in headlights when I asked if there was a larger cup size in that brand...all she said to me behind the desk was "we only have what's on the floor". I left the store.

Great workers, awesome clothes and shoes. The quality can't be beat! The customer service is EXCELLENT! No problem returning things, which is a big plus for a lot of people!

Typical department store....the selection of some products have improved over the last while. Bedding when on sale, can be a good buy. The biggest problem I found is that its hard to find sales staff..

Have an old Timex from my father and went there on Friday to have it repaired. Was informed by a pleasant clerk that I should return on Sunday. The watch repair man fixed the watch.Took 15 minutes.Very happy with the service.

The ladies in the perfume department were great and very helpful the ladies that are on cash are usually helpful in the other areas as well. I just wish the prices were a little lower on some of the items in the store

Prices on clothing are pretty high. Levi's jeans on sale for 70 and 80 dollars. Too rich for my blood.

  • 3/5 Janice H. 1 year ago on Google
This place always reminds me of Sears... the offerings seems geared towards older folks. Living in Canada with not many options for department stores this will suffice i guess but wish it were more like JC Penny.

I used to buy all my clothing at The Bay When they sold Karen Scott and Allison Daley clothing. Their clothing was fashionable and fitted me without having to have them altered at all. But I will now look into buying Olsen clothing there.

Hudson Bay will not exist much longer. Went to buy a mens dress shirt, they have one style by Calvin Klien and 5 colours for that style. What a joke. Shop anywhere else but the Bay. I'd give a negative score if I could

Was at the Centre point location and saw an instance of employee favoritism with certain customers. I see this very frequently at the Hillcrest Mall location. Persian customers know when certain sales people are working the cash. Its quite the scam they have going on. Untouchable, but quite the scam.

I love shopping at Hudson's Bay, but I HATE when I get my credit card bill... Tons of beautiful bedding from Hotel Collection, and great looking clothing for men.

The store is looking better than ever. New changing room area. Love the fact that the Christmas items are on the main floor. Staff was amazing. Welcome back BAY!!!

Ordered ladies boots. Received mens dress shoes. Now I have to drive a half hour to return them. Get it together the bay.

Sauntering through the Bay's first floor we were invited to partake in customer appreciation day as a charming Persian young sales lady was serving delicious Iranian pistachios and lemon cakes, cookies and water. I couldn't resist asking like Oliver Twist, "Please, Madam may I have some more" I also thought of the struggles in Iran where the woman are asking "Please give use more Freedom"

I called them but they didnt accept any price match . Can you imagine this is a big SCAM !! Please be careful with them . I never be back to Hudson'sbay

so i went this morning on Friday 25 October to Hudson Bay since its Black Friday , there's was guy wearing a blazer distributing gift cards to all the people and saying this is a 20 $ gift card for the first 200 customers and he gave the gift cards to the people in front of me and when he saw me he turned , i told him i didnt receive a gift card he smiled and went away !! i think because of shape and look he didnt give me the gift card although he had some of them in his hand !! this is unacceptable behavior !

Though it is a smaller and older location, I still find the item I was looking for. I will surely miss the store' convenience when the subway on Yonge and Steeles starts in a few years.

I've never enjoyed walking thru different brand names to find a dress. I almost never find something at The Bay. What I do find is way overpriced.

went there for online return, brought return items there (over 20 lbs). Store staff checked for roughly 20-30 mins then told me to go to shoppers for return (said it was sold by third party, thought the website said SOLD BY THE BAY). Carried the 20 lbs items to canada post, and they told me they cant process it for me- It should be done by The bay. Back to the bay again, same staff told me he can do nothing without checking with his collegue and asked me to go home with the over 20 lbs items and call THE BAY ONLINE. Ridiculous and intolorable customer service!!!!

Feels a bit empty (less stock) but still the pricing is good compared to quality and the sales associates are very friendly. Would definitely shop there again.

Their merchandise and service is too notch. Best department store for quality goods. Just wish they would quit moving everything around, specially in men's clothing. Love their sales because you actually save money.

  • 1/5 Dhara S. 1 year ago on Google
Very poor return policy. Don't deserve even one Star 🌟 looking at the most recent reviews, I think, the staff here now, is just not interested in selling or maintaining the HUDSON'S BAY reputation. May be , most of the people who do shopping here to get best quality, they used to get earlier ,are the most disappointed one ...with the staff behaviour of WHO CARES.

  • 1/5 Bailee S. 1 year ago on Google
If I could give it no stars I would. Staff are always so rude there, specifically a woman named Barbra in the change rooms. Going on about how my mother and sister couldn't help me zip up a dress because she is worried about customers catching the flu. Meanwhile she starts touching a random customer on the arm and back. Very unprofessional and rude. This is not the first time I've experienced this.

The assistant lady (Gity) at jewelry department was really caring and guided me all the way through my purchase with a beautiful smile. Superb customer service, so I highly recommend that anyone should stop by at her counter and buy at least a small piece of

After 5 years of posting my 3 star review - I have been asked to elaborate - I just posted 3 stars - can't remember why I posted average but my guess is finding an open cash on the second floor - now this is one of the last great department stores in Canada with quality products - I will revise my review to 4 stars had you replied earlier it would have been 5 -----__----_---- update 5 minutes later they are closing - I guess due to redevelopment - but why reply now? I will still continue to shop at winners and if I can find one the bay

I had the worst experience doing online order return . She starts to tell me that i have to go online and get a QR code before i could return it . And after shes goes on saying its so easy . Here let me show you . Like if im not capable of doing it . But what got me upset is that shes like when you buy from amazon you have to do it why not for the bay n im thinking in my head amazon doesnt have a store . Thats why we gotta go online n print the returns slips . Anyways worst experience ever. because of this i refuse to shop at the bay. Dont waste your money here. There is so many other store that sells the same things with actual customer service .

  • 2/5 Paul R. 10 months ago on Google
Although each department is on the ground floor, items are close together vs. spread out. The Bay should close this store - it looks like a bargain basement with high prices. Certainly not a location that I will recommend.

Thank you for your response. Altough after this long time I don't even remeber what was my rating about. But anyway If I had wanted ro give another rating it would be 1 star !! Because recently I got the worse experiance with my online order from the Bay.

Such a grim location that is so dated and dirty. Look at the ceiling the next time you are in there. Needs a lot of money spent on it. Looks like it was last renovated in the 70s... when using mirrors for walls was in fashion. It is just an unpleasant place to shop, with everything always messed up and not tidied up. There is next to no stock of anything, so a trip always ends in disappointment. The lighting upstairs is depressing and just makes you want to leave, rather than shop around. I think probably the worst location I have been to.

Wow. Evette at the women’s fragrance booth is the epitome of customer service. She is an absolute masterclass at making the customer feel welcomed and found exactly what I was looking for for my sisters Christmas present. If you are shopping for fragrances, men or women, look for her!!!!
