Chicken Swiss came out and was very quickly sent back. Chicken had a very odd taste to it despite assurances it was fresh. The chicken was served in a very odd looking mushroom coloured sauce with a very orange cheddar melted in it. That dish should NOT be on your menu. If you're going to give your chef free artistic rein, then either make sure you know what's being sent out of the kitchen, or check their ID when you hire them to make sure you haven't just hired Derek aged 9 The upside to the visit was that in record time I was served another dish (mince and dumplings) that would've been hard to get wrong.

The Keel Row is a lovely family friendly pub, dogs are welcome in the bar and children have their own play area indoors and out, also a lovely beer garden for warm days. The food is amazing a good choice of menu options and all at a reasonable price. You will always get a warm welcome from Sharon and her team

We live locally but rarely eat out. We were passing last week and decided to go in for some food. I am gluten free and a vegetarian so eating out is very difficult. But they had a good GF menu. I ordered a cheese and broccoli pasta bake. It came with home cooked chips and salad and was really nice. My partner got the steak pie, which he enjoyed too. My daughter got the chicken nuggets. They were proper chicken breast so really good. They have a little play park for little ones out the back and they have a play room inside too. The staff are really friendly too. We would definitely go back.

Every year our walking club has its end of season meal here. It's a first class place with excellent service, beautiful food and, very, efficient and pleasant staff. The most important thing though: without somewhere to park our coach, we wouldn't be there, in the first place! Suffice to say, there IS parking! Well done to everyone for making our, once yearly visit, such an enjoyable one!

Been meaning to try the keel Row out for sometime, as we've heard a lot if good things about it. Friendly staff, excellent service, beautiful Sunday roast. We shall definitely be returning and the kids absolutely loved the play area.

We booked a table for 12 people tonight & the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The lady serving us realised we had a couple of fussy diners & altered a kids meal & a burger to suit them. Really friendly, chatty staff, lovely food & very responsibly priced. This is our second visit & will definitely be our ‘go to’ place in the future.

Great pub/restaurant went as a family of 4 with including two young children. There a little play area with a ton of toys to keep them entertained. The food was fantastic I had the corned beef and potato pie and it was choc full of corned beef. Stayed and had a coffe as the children were occupied playing. Just wish the weather was nice so we could have played in the outside area.

Bit disappointed after I had read such glowing reviews. Lovely staff and very nice place but I would say the food was on a par with other places I've been to. I had a turkey lunch but I'm a bit unsure about the turkey. It was quite thinly sliced and the yorkies were obviously frozen as everybody's was exactly the same. Auntie Bessie I guess. It was ok but I won't rush back.

The owner 'Madge' is great, friendly, helpful and runs one of the best pubs in the area. Family business with daughter running kitchen, great food. Decorated for Halloween and looking good, looks even better for xmas, lots on too. Child and dog friendly with good disabled facilities too.

Exceptionaly friendly staff with a good sense of northern humour. A good range of food and well presented and priced. No specific recommendation re the food as it is all good and we have never been disappointed.

Clean and well-presented dining area that was quite quiet for a Friday evening. Nice food, cooked well. The steak of the mixed grill was a little gristly in places, the rest was excellent. Steak and ale pie was good. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food prices were reasonable.

Attended a small function here recently. Brilliant service from Sharon and her team. Food was lovely and they were very attentive to my sisters dietary needs. We often call in for a couple of drinks on a Friday. Wish it was my local. Friendly and welcoming place

Very busy at lunchtime, but much more pleasant off peak. Range of food good and reasonable prices, however mince portion was a bit miserly with dumpling and 'pie' was just a puff pastry lid placed on a dollop of filling on plate...no pastry base or pie dish! Beef roast (£7.95, 2023) was very tasty with proper mash, but carrots had been steamed too long and had no flavour...I suppose you can't get good prices and good quality. Traditional decor and good draft beer made for a convivial environment. Best to avoid peak times as it gets very busy.

I came for a family meal. I have been here previously and the food has been good. However, for some reason the Sunday dinners are not as good. To start with I had potato skins. They were nice except for a big one where the potato was black. It was obvious it wasn't burnt but the veg was off. To be served with this was very poor on the part of the kitchen staff. Next I had the lamb. The flavour was lovely but the meat was so fatty it was hard to cut. Also, the veg were soggy. Finally for dessert I had the chocolate cake and custard, this was delicious. Unfortunately, some of our party had one of the cheesecakes. It was basically just cream with an odd flavour. So, overall, the starters and the cake and custard are the best but the main course should be avoided until something is done to massively improve things.

A fantastic little pub. Food is spot on and the service is incredibly quick. Can't complain about anything and can only recommend it to others.

Absolutely brilliant and can't recommend enough. The ladies were so welcoming and couldn't do enough. The place is absolutely stunning as well as cozy. Food was delicious and an absolute bargain. Even the toilets were spotless and smelt fab. Wish we'd found it on day one of our trip and we'd have been on multiple occasions.

We had a group of just under 30 booked for a birthday meal, 1 of which was gluten free. All food was so nice. I loved how the gluten free meal looked exactly like the other meals so the person who needed it didn't seem an odd one out. The service was on point! All the staff were so helpful and lovely, easily approachable for any last minute changes and all help too.

My partner and I eat here often , the menu is extensive and the food is exceptional. The pub bar area is dog friendly with a separate large dining area for those who prefer . The staff are welcoming and friendly . I would highly recommend the Keel Row.

We were originally going to another pub for a meal but it was closed so my daughter suggested the keel row my belly was rumbling so that's where we went was told best to book in advance as it was very busy which is a good sign but they directed to the bar we found our seats good selection of bar snacks or great food ordered from the menu from putting our order in to our starters coming only about 10 mins which I thought was good as it was packed the food was excellent and the staff were great nothing was to much trouble for them so all in all lush food great staff great place to eat and great prices I will definitely be going back

It was very busy when we went but managed to get a table in the bar. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff were all busy but still had time for a smile and a chat. Cosy homely atmosphere and dog friendly.

Lovely dog friendly pub with amazing food. My hubby chose mince and dumplings and it was just the way he liked it. Mince over a beautiful fluffy dumpling. I had steak and it was cooked to perfection. Staff are really friendly too and there is plenty parking

Had a wonderful lunch at the Keel Row today. Food staff and location couldn't be faulted. Prawn salad was the best I've anywhere! Hang on, we will be returning some time soon.

The food was nice but what spoiled it for us was the younger server we had. She came across as not wanting to be there and everything she was asked was a real chore. It was one of those rare occasions we did not leave a tip. Just wish we had the other young server as she looked so bubbly and attentive to the table she was looking after

Got take away Sunday lunch. Very nice indeed! Really good prices also without compromising on quality or portion size. It's just like a home cooked Sunday dinner...without the dishes. Definitely recommend
