Nice water bottles, accompanied by a delicious Royal burger. It was fresh and tasty, it also looks like they make their own chips which are really good. Excellent lunch spot on a sunny day!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, banging vinyl tunes by the live DJ, super tasty food with heaps of vegan options, and a wonderful assortment of beverages including a number of local craft brewskis!

Showed up starving with a few minutes before the kitchen closed. They were kind enough to fix us up with a couple of tasty burgers. Chill vibe, great tracks. Will be back!

This could be the most amazing little bar, they have great food, nice drinks, normal prices. I love the intention with the music and the live djs, but it's just so loud. It drowns out all hope of general conversation, and to be frank, the music is no where near good enough to demand the patrons full attention. If I may suggest the sound levels be adjusted for the size of the venue and the atmosphere of the patrons, that would be wonderful. There are clubs for loud music all along this road, I don't think you need to try compete, we like you for your small bar vibes.

Delicious food (try the jalapeno poppers), good selection of drinks (and a great place to get mulled wine). Loved the atmosphere, great for a date. And the live DJ added to the whole experience.

A very welcoming little bar, always has a small selection of 4 great independent beers on tap that they rotate regularly giving you something different to try, tasty burgers, and chill tunes to enjoy while still being able to speak with your friends - always a great place to visit.

Can't believe the house gin is as premium as Archie Rose! The staff are soooo hot and competent. Just wish they'd play more Massive Attack and Crystal Castles

Had my birthday party here, the staff were so kind and were assisting us every step of the way. The food supplied was fantastic, I could not speak highly enough of this bar. Strongly recommend to anyone thinking of hosting an event or party to come here!

Such a pleasant bar in the heart of Erskineville for those wanting a little more quietness away from Newtown. Nikki and her team were very welcoming to our DJ crew to perform our records on a Saturday daytime while reserving the main tables thanks to the typical quiet crowds. The vegan burger is also certainly worth ordering considering the price difference and taste compared to the standard meats!

Really love the vibe of Hive Bar, have only ever had a great experience! They have several vegan things on the menu which I love, and when they open all the windows and you can sit right on the ledge, it feels like the perfect balance between down to earth and downright classy

Been wanting to pop in here for ages & finally got the chance. So glad we did, extensive cocktail menu was just what the Dr ordered. Friendly service & if not in menu, just ask, they'll find a solution. Would like to buzz around here again soon.

General nice place, happy hour and some vegan friendly food options. Would I come here specifically to dine in? No, not really - but I recommend this place if you're passing by and want a drink. Be prepared to wait a long time for food, I've been here twice and each time had about a 40 minute wait. I'd recommend the cheaper sides and burgers as the expensive burgers in my opinion are a little overpriced. But the food was nice, and I enjoyed the friendly staff.

Great local hang out. I've been a number of times. Expect something regular and something special. You won't be disappointed getting a seat near a window and watching the erskineville crowd pass by.

The Bob's Burger and Jalapeno poppers are to die for. The staff are friendly and the DJ Lochlan Holland is always playing good tunes. With the little time I have off I always try to make it here.

This is a great bar in Erskineville. Friday night the DJ's playing some cool relaxed tunes. The venue is intimate and buzzing. Amazing selection of vegan/vegetarian items on the menu and cocktails made so professionally. Then there's the staff who were all so welcoming and helpful. Our group had a really enjoyable evening here. So worth the 5 stars I'm giving it. Would recommend to anyone.

I felt very disappointed in the vegan options. really lacked creativity and all the dishes needed more flavor and sauce.

I went yesterday sunday september 1st because I spent the friday night with my girlfriends and we loved it, but the man who was on the door yesterday was so rude. He just look at us and told us they were a lot of cops around ( why he said that? I dont know) Then he saw my bottle of water and told me I hope there is not alcohol inside and repeat there were a lot of cops around. I told him is just water because is a hot day today. Then he told us the pub was full. If we want to get in we should go upstairs. We went upstairs and was nothing, the music was downstairs and there was a table for 6 people empty. He didnt offered us nothing. Just warnings and warnings. If you welcome foreign people like that at the first sight is so wrong. Just look at us and I dont know what was wrong with us. Or what was wrong with him yesterday. ??

Perfect for people watching from big open side window at about 6pm summertime (visiting from Brisbane staying Newtown - came across while walking so only our 10 cents worth). Great vibe and friendly staff - Wife’s champers was fresh from new bottle, my Pale ale (Shenanigans off tap on special) was very insipid however - no criticism of this lovely bar though!
