The staff are great, the breakfast was good, but the rooms are not private in the sense that everyone can hear everything. In order to have hot water, you need to turn on the heater, and wait at least half an hour, after which you will have about 1 minute of hot shower. So in order to have more than a minute long shower (or for two people to have very brief showers), you need to turn on the heater and wait at least an hour. The beds are quite short, so if you are more than 6 ft tall, your feet will hang over the end. I also found it rather strange that there is an extra charge for drinking water each day. It seems stingy to charge $50 a night for a room and then another dollar for water to drink.

I stayed there in July and I cannot recommend them enough! You get 10 times what you pay for! The owner were extremely kind and helpful, the dog they have is the sweetest thing ever and the place is surrounded by beautiful nature. Although it is slightly located further away from the center of Arusha they can easily arrange a cheap taxi or boda boda ride for you. Its a peaceful getaway from the bustling city, so you can sleep in Peace and wake up with the sounds of the Birds chirping. The breakfast was enormous and SO delicious. The owner even went out of her way to get me a plant based meal so I can enjoy eating cereals in the morning. It honestly felt like a family and I trully believe that this is the best place to stay to start your Tanzanian Adventure. Do not hesitate and just book your stay in this beautiful gem!!

It is a wonderful home away from home. We enjoyed our stay at lovely Simones and Chris' house very much. They did everything to accommodate a perfect stay. Their funny dog Simba is just adorable and is friends with every visitor. The garden is a perfect place to unwind and relax. also don't miss out on Simones cooking skills, we were treated with delicious dishes at night and with an amazing breakfast every morning. We will definitely come back once we are back in Tansania!

Decent location in Arusha. A bit expensive for what you get tbh. Some rooms share a bathroom. The beds are very small. Very friendly dogs though ☺️

Chris (host/owner) and the two housekeeper girls made my stay very pleasant. Breakfast was always ready early in the mornings with fresh fruit, coffee, pancakes, granola and yogurt, and omelette. The host also helped me by coordinating and helping me to join a safari (“joiner -group” version) with his associate. The experience with the safari went beyond my expectations too. The house was very clean (inside and outside) and had a nice warm decor. I love the fact you can cook your own food or have the girls cook you a lunch/dinner. The two dogs were also fun, playful and sweet too. I will miss the staff and the dogs at Utamaduni House. If I come back to Arusha to do another safari, i’m definitely coming back to Utamaduni House. We liked them so much, that we actually cooked a Filipino dish for them the day we left.

The place is quiet and secure. Simone and Chris are really welcoming and friendly and they helped us a lot with organising our tours. You will have nice and clean rooms and a extraordinary good breakfast. You can also eat dinner and lunch there and it's also really good. We enjoyed it so much that we came back 2 times after leaving. 5 stars for sure

Let me put it that way – it felt like home. I had a very warm welcome by the owners and really enjoyed staying with them. The House is nicely furnished, I love the mix of Scandinavian- and African styles. The two lovely Tanzanian girls, working in the house, will also serve you a super nice breakfast and dinner. Dinner can be booked separately for about 8-9 dollars. In case you need a transport, the owners will arange one for you. Also the wifi is working well in comparison to other Tanzanian places. Don’t start comparing western standards to the one of Africa. In case you also will need a Covid Test, you can do it in MT Meru Hospital (24h).

Very welcoming atmosphere: came late in the evening, and we were offered a very tasty homemade dinner, could order drinks and beer. We were leaving early morning at 4 a.m., can order take-away breakfast of your choice. Nice rooms, decorated. Located rather far from center.

An unbelievably great place to stay in Arusha - quiet and secure. Though a bit far from town, I enjoyed the peace and quiet here and the wonderful hospitality. Close to Njiro Complex which had several restaurants and ATMs, as well as a supermarket just down the road.

We originally booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 6 nights. Amazing place with a large living room, dining room and garden you can use as you please. Chris and his staff are very friendly and helpful. Its a bit further away from the city centre but great options nearby (Njiro complex), or easy to find a tuktuk/motorbike.
