Hotel is nice and well maintained. Only one thing in the room to be changed is the bed. Its old and there is no life left in that bed. Staff needs proper training, i think most of the staffs are new joiners and trainees. Only Aneet from Front office with an awesome smile is ready to welcome everyone. Food is good. The management really needs to look into the issues as this is one if the best properties in Arusha.

The pool staff more than doubled the admission fee. I called the hotel and they said they couldn't fix it. Readers of this article, beware of the price. That may be a false price. We didn't eat pizza. You guys got Tsh 90,000 from me

Wonderful hotel located just outside Arusha, on an expansive landscape, with a scenic view of Mt. Meru. The staff are so helpful and always ready to serve you. The breakfast and lunch buffet was quite extensive with an assortment of salads, main dishes, and desserts.

Attended a reception in the ballroom organised by KiliFair. Staff at reception were very helpful as they dealt with 100s of evening guests plus numerous check ins. #KiliFair #Arusha #TanzaniaUnforgettable

If we had only stayed one night, I would be leaving a 5 star review. The property is beautiful and modern, and our dinner the night we arrived was delicious with excellent service. The view from our room was outstanding. However, by the end of our three night stay, we had some complaints. Room service was VERY slow. There was constant pressure to tip- we did not encounter this anywhere else on our trip. They would even bring things to our room in two trips hoping to get two tips. We were also given the wrong room type, despite us questioning when we arrived if this was really the room we had reserved. We were charged for a nicer room than we received. The worst part was that we ordered Chapati, and were told it would take awhile because they had to make the dough. But the Chapati they brought us was tough and clearly at least a day old. It seems they must have gone and purchased it elsewhere and sold it to us as though they made it fresh. There is really no recovering from that dishonesty and gross standard. We would not stay here again. If you’re only staying one night you might enjoy it. Just don’t order chapati, and make sure you are charged for the room you are given.

Good location. You can Mt. Meru from the room. The staff is very good. Gustov(?), the waiter is very nice person. We had a good talk with him and he gave good information about the Safari. Rooms are big enough, a nice garden, good pool area, and the best restaurant.

Stayed one night before a trek and one night after. Had both night’s sleep interrupted - first time by the TV suddenly turning on and blaring loudly somewhere between 10.30-11pm (it had been off all afternoon, no reason for it to do this) and then the second stay the in-room telephone rang at 12.15am. When answered, the other end hung up. When I dialed the front desk, I got an awkward “oops mistake” and nothing more. What hotel calls a room at quarter past midnight?? Agree with previous review, avoid the rooms on the front of the hotel - the blaring music doesn’t help the struggle to sleep…

Stayed through a company but I see rooms are often a couple of hundred dollars a night and are indeed very nice. Staff very polite and helpful. Unfortunately I made the mistake of believing the staff at the à la carte restaurant that my stay included the buffet restaurant for evening meal. A reasonable curry later (aside from the moths landing on the serving utensils) I was unexpectedly up for a completely ridiculous (and indeed considerably more expensive than many items at the à la carte restaurant) bill of approx US$25. Beware going to the buffet restaurant, it is way overpriced and potentially a health hazard.

DONT STAY HERE! It’s 1 AM and it’s the 3rd time tonight i’m in the reception because the air conditiining stops working and i wake up sweatinf. I’m hiking Kilimanjaro tomorrow and a hotel should be a place to rest, not to male you loose sleep.

Stayed at Mount Meru hotel in Arusha Tanzania for 5 nights. This is 4 star rated hotel and Trip Advisor recommended. Perhaps by Tanzania standards but certainly not by USA standards. At $230 USD per night, it is not cheap. Positive - breakfast was delicious with a different selection of dishes, restaurant on site had a good selection of dinner fare at a very reasonable price, gardens and pool were well maintained, nice view of Mount Meru from your room if facing front side of hotel. Negatives - there is a club that plays loud music at night near the hotel which you can hear from your room, read on for more negatives. 1. Security - everytime you step out of hotel, your room key card deactivates automatically. When you return, you have to go to front desk to reactivate card. Not once during the 5 days we stayed here did the front desk associate ask us to verify that the room number we told her matched the name on reservation or ask for our ID cards. This is a big security concern since anybody can give their key card to the front desk, say a random room number, gain access to the room. We voiced our concerns on the second day but still no changes were implemented. 2. Bathtub leaks water on floor - some rooms have a bathtub instead of walk in shower. Problem is, they only put a half screen on the front part of bathtub (no shower curtain). So if you try to take a shower in the bathtub, water floods the bathroom floor and all over the sink. Also it is a huge step up from the floor into the bathtub, which could be dangerous for children or elderly. Very poor design. Other people in our group expressed the same concern about their rooms. 3. Sink was very slow to drain and filled all the way to the top with water. Everyday before we left for our daily activities, we asked front desk to fix it. When we checked out 5 days later, it still hadn't been fixed. Seems to be a hotel-wide problem. 4. Towels one size only - Hotels I have stayed at my entire life have always provided 3 size towels (small washcloth, medium hand towel, big bath towel). This hotel only provides big bath towels. I asked the housekeepers and they didn't understand my request. The front desk was able to translate and get me different size towels. However when they clean your room daily, they will only restock big bath towels. 5. Beds are rock hard and so uncomfortable. They need to invest in better mattresses. 6. Air conditioning - turns on and off randomly. 7. Fridge temp - felt like fridge wasn't even working because the temperature was so warm. 8. Room door was very heavy to open. Needs fixing. 9. Asked for toilet paper - still didn't get 3 hours later. 10. The last morning of my stay, I received a rude awakening at 8am. Front desk associate (lady) called my room to tell me "Someone in room ### just checked out and she said you would pay for her extra room charges." Stop and think if that even makes sense. I was staying in a completely different room yet was being asked to pay another guest's extra room charges?? Turns out she meant to call the roommate in the other room. If front desk cannot even get room numbers straight, I don't know what to say. She didn't even apologize for waking me up and inconveniencing me, simply hung up the phone. 11. Tried to double charge invoice - my roommate checked out earlier than me and paid for her extra charges (room service and laundry). When I checked out several hours later, they tried to make me pay again! I had to ask my roommate to text me a picture of her payment receipt while she was on the airplane getting ready to take off. When I showed it to them, hotel management said "Our processing system is down today." Yes that is 100% believable. Had my roommate not sent me her receipt, I am convinced they would have made me pay again. I wonder how many other customers they try to double charge. Hope someone from corporate reads this review and will take action to improve everything mentioned.

We were here just for going to the pool and chill. The staff was not competent at all. We waitet 1.5 Houers for a pizza and we paid a lot for a deckchair and didnt even got one. In total we waitet 3 hours for the deckchair and they always said 10 minutes 10 minutes... We are very disappointed in this place! We will not come back.

A good hotel to stay at. The Executive Rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast had a lot of variety. The grass outside was well manicured, the garden area was clean and well maintained. Internet was useless, even after complaining several times nothing was done. The staff was very polite especially Annette, very professional. Hope they sort the Internet issues at this good hotel.

This hotel is located in the charming city of Arusha, which is located in northern Tanzania. The hotel rooms overlook charming views such as the view of the summit of Mount Meru, which is essentially a dormant volcano. The service, staff and restaurant in the hotel are very excellent.

An Exceptional Experience at Mount Meru Hotel! I recently had the pleasure of attending a meeting at Mount Meru Hotel, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The hotel's stunning location at the foothills of Mount Meru sets the tone for a memorable stay. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The staff members were incredibly friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met throughout my stay. The meeting facilities at Mount Meru Hotel were top-notch. The conference room was spacious, well-equipped, and provided a comfortable environment for productive discussions. The hotel staff was always readily available to assist with any technical requirements or last-minute requests, making the entire experience seamless. The culinary offerings at Mount Meru Hotel were truly delightful. The meals served during our meeting breaks were delicious and showcased a wide variety of local and international cuisines. The attentive staff members were attentive to dietary preferences and ensured that everyone's needs were catered to. One aspect that truly stood out was the attention to detail in the hotel's decor and ambiance. The African-inspired aesthetics, combined with modern comforts, created a unique and inviting atmosphere. The lush gardens and picturesque views added to the overall charm of the hotel. During my downtime, I had the opportunity to explore the hotel's amenities. The pool area was a refreshing oasis, perfect for unwinding after a long day of meetings. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing me to maintain my fitness routine even while away from home. I cannot praise Mount Meru Hotel enough for its exceptional service, attention to detail, and overall commitment to creating a memorable experience for its guests. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, this hotel truly exceeds expectations. I highly recommend Mount Meru Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and luxurious stay in Arusha. I look forward to returning in the future for another remarkable experience. Thank you, Mount Meru Hotel, for making my meeting stay an unforgettable one!

We stayed here between days we were on safari and our Kili hike. The good: staff was nice and hospitable. The food was great - breakfast was good and their room service food was outstanding (American food). There was a pool but we didn’t have a chance to swim. ATM is nearby outside the front gate of the hotel. Front reception staff are friendly. The bad: The hotel and rooms are pretty outdated with terrible wifi. FYI- request a room facing the rear of the hotel and not facing Mt Meru / front as there’s a bar/restaurant across the street that blasts music at night so it’s hard to sleep. Be very specific and repeat what you ordered from room service as there was some miscommunication on what we ordered or requested.

Lovely ambience. Service however is a bit wanting - it took us well over 30 minutes just to get our bill sorted and the place was empty. Still a must visit - beautiful gardens and fresh air

Food is okay , had late lunch so it was cold but I think when hot tastes better. Had butternut squash soup. The bathroom was clean. Spacious can accommodate a good number of people for conferences and dining. Swimming pool is bit small and inconvenient because it’s in the busy side of hotel near dining and conference. I did not sleep here .

Gated hotel with beautiful campus and nice amenities such as a pool, spa, and weight room. Street noise most of the night from my room. Good service. Too exclusive for my sensibilities.

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a google review. We arrived in our hotel room and found it to be very warm. We proceeded to turn on the A/C and waited patiently for more than an hour before concluding that the A/C was not working and the room was not going to be at a comfortable temperature. We called front desk and they sent maintenance, and eventually we were moved to another room. The other room had a working A/C, but the A/C would turn itself off every hour. Once it is turned off, i would call the front desk again and then maintenance would turn it on again, but the A/C to sudden go off again after another hour. You can imagine that this is absolutely frustrating for anyone who is trying to have a good night’s sleep and preparing for a good safari trip the next day. This is a failure to provide the most fundamental purpose of a hotel room — a comfortable place to sleep and spend the night. This is not befitting of any alleged 5-star hotel, regardless of location / remoteness.

Great place for short stay in Arusha. Modern place and good location. It has nice pool and restaurants. We used this hotel as our transit stay for safari trip. Good location too...pretty central and attentive staffs.

Stayed here before and after Kili hike. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and if you need anything, the front desk staff is very accommodating. Also, they have security on site at all times and I felt very safe staying here. Many of the rooms offer beautiful views of gorgeous Mt. Meru, as well. AND the pool is lovely! We also ate at the hotel’s restaurants, both of which were perfect. The buffet was plentiful, and the main restaurant has a great menu with wondeeful service. We were fortunate to have MZEE as our server and he is so amazing!! Knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and just a lovely person to interact with, he made us feel so welcome and taken care of! Highly recommend this hotel and restaurants to anyone staying in Arusha!

Clean and lovely place to stay. A very beautiful hotel with lovely restaurants and lovely garden views! Customer service is good and the room we stayed in was very nice with a nice view of Mount Meru. Breakfast Buffet was also very well prepared and kept us wanting seconds! Only thing I would say is sometimes the food for dinner was too salty and the wifi was quite slow in our room. Other than that a lovely hotel to stay at!

Fantastic hotel, with the best views to Mt Meru. We loved every meal there and the service provided by the staff, who always went out of their way to help us. I would give the staff a 10/10. Very grateful for their help.
