I had the misfortune of contracting Acute Altitude Sickness on my Kili trek and was pretty sick when we checked in to Researchers Rest. A wonderful warm place with craftmanship, lots of wood trims, and nicely appointed, simple, clean, comfortable rooms. The living room has hundreds of books in the library. The manager Eddy treated me like family, took me to clinic and hospital, stayed with me for the duration of my treatments, and simply took great care of me throughout my stay. The cook Joseph was excellent and also treated me like family and made special dishes for me to consume in my illness. I cannot praise the staff enough for their excellent care of me - a stranger to them initially and family by the time I left. The Rest is in a genuine Arusha neighborhood, and the staff was very accommodating in driving me wherever I wished to go. I recommend the facility and staff very highly.

This place is a hidden gem in Arusha. Outstanding food. Lovely, intimate setting. Charming rooms. Impeccably clean. Warm staff. And so reasonably priced. I can't wait for my next trip!

Wonderful place to stay. Our group only stayed for one night, but it was a great way to end our trip to Tanzania! The rooms are nice and clean. The home cooked meals were amazing! My personal favorite was the cearal we had for breakfast. The staff is amazing and the property is beautiful. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy good company, I recommend staying here.

Off the beaten path, literally, the Researcher's Rest House offers clean simple rooms with wonderful meals. What makes it an extraordinary place to stay is the eclectic mix of people who stay there. Some of the best dinner time conversation. The management is also incredibly helpful and can assist with everything from travel planning to the best shopping. Highly, highly recommended.

My favorite BnB or hotel or guesthouse in the world. Super comfortable living room with a huge library, comfy chairs, and a nice view of the yard. The cooks are excellent; better food than you'd find in Arusha. They do laundry and it's not outrageous. And the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.

I spent a single night at the Researchers Rest before doing a one-day safari at the Arusha National Park. The room was great and the food amazing. After a long flight from the US it provided exactly what I needed - a nice place to relax, shower, sleep and prepare for my trip. The food was amazing. Freshly prepared with plenty of fruits, grains and meat. Another couple staying with their family had some dietary restrictions and I saw the care that the cooks took to ensure they got what they needed. They made an individual lasagna for a vegetarian. The common area is where I spent most of the afternoon enjoying the view of the yard and talking with other guests. My room was booked as part of a package deal through Peak Planet.

We stayed here before and after safari. It was a perfect, idyllic place to recharge before and after the trips through the national parks. Eddy and Joseph were so friendly and made us feel at home. Eddy also cooked us two amazing veggie dinners and drove us to the airport on our last day. We had such a great stay here and would definitely stay again!
