My experience going in an Abstract Adventure was transformational. The entire experience helped me build confidence, deepened me connection with nature, and gave me a sense of connection with myself and others that I still feel today. As a self described “city girl” I was nervous about going on a hike. While I am fairly active, I’m from a lower elevation city. Sarah was amazing at pacing the group on the hike, and it really allowed us the opportunity to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of nature. She was encouraging and motivating. I am NOT a painter! This was my first time ever using paint and canvas, and I’m so glad to have had Sarah as a guide. She was able to give options and guide the experience without comparison or competition. I love the abstract style, as it helped me tap into feelings and colors in ways I wouldn’t normally. My painting isn’t perfect, but I left feeling more creatively open and proud. I recommend Abstract Adventures to hikers, nature lovers, artists, and creative people of ALL levels. I will absolutely go again when in Colorado.

I did a hike & paint experience with Sarah in September 2022 and had the absolute coolest experience. Sarah is such a patient and affirming instructor and helped me feel confident in my newbie painting abilities. It was a really calming and freeing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique outdoor experience!

If you’re looking for a fun way to be out in nature, you need to experience the magic of Abstract Adventures! Sarah is wonderful at providing an approachable art class while you’re surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. Unlike anything I’ve ever done before and will definitely do again! SUPER beginner friendly! It’s a great way to tap into your creativity with such a supportive, encouraging teacher.

This is such a great way to connect with nature and get artsy! Our guide gave us excellent instructions and tips for painting as well as giving us fun information about the area we hiked. Highly recommend!

I had never painted before. Abstract Adventures took us to a beautiful location and helped me create my first painting. She was very patient with this beginner. It was a great experience!

Very relaxing experience. I have never been very artistic, but enjoyed the time with Sarah. She was very patient and knowledgeable with guiding me in the my journey as a first time painter.

Abstract Adventures was so much fun!!! It provided a great opportunity to stop and be present in nature as well as learn new art techniques. Sarah was really chill and approachable and great at walking us through a style of painting we hadn’t tried before. 10/10 would recommend!

Sarah took me and two other friends on an abstract hike last year and we all had an absolute blast. The hike was beautiful and she was consistent about checking in with how everyone was doing, taking lots of breaks when needed, and not rushing in order to enjoy the sights and sounds. The spot we set up to paint at had a gorgeous view, and Sarah had everything we needed. She guided us through the painting part, but loosely enough so that everyone could flex their creativity (even beginners) and the paintings all turned out completely original and awesome. She was diligent about leaving no trace, as well. Couldn’t recommend this experience more as a unique way to take in Colorado’s beauty!

What a great experience! 100% recommended. I learned some basics about painting while I enjoyed a beautiful and peaceful landscape with good company. I loved this experience and can't wait to repeat it :)
