Love my early morning walks around the lake! The view of the mountains is incredible and if you are lucky you may even get a glimpse of a majestic bald eagle! Great for walking by yourself, with friends or with your dog! The trail can get muddy on days where we have had rain or snow so being good shoes. The trail is a dirt trail all the way around (about 1.5 miles once around). There is a pier too for those who like to try fishing!!

Nice walking trail around the lake. Ample areas to stop and fish for some bass. The dock is damaged/overfluded and not safe to go on.. Hope they fix that as many kids tend to climb over and play on it even though it's damaged and somewhat under water. Overall, nice quiet path to exercise or get your fish on.

The lake is beautiful. The trail around the lake is around a mile and is well maintained. There is an area with picnic tables under a gazebo. Plenty of good shore fishing spots.

There is parking for about 12 to 15 cars, but on a regular day, finding parking is super easy. They do have a trail around the lake which is well defined and easy to walk your dog as well. There is a lot of options for you to hobby fish here. Have seen so many people fish everytime we have been here. Apart from these two things, there is nothing else to do here in terms of entertaining your kids with any picnic activities. Overall a good place to walk around.

Usually nowadays it's pretty busy, but it is beautiful nonetheless. People go here all the time for photography

McKay Lake is a great place to explore nature. The well groomed trail that leads around the lake is 1.5 miles. You’ll find numerous rest areas, including a covered picnic shelter. McKay Lake is host to a diverse wildlife ecosystem... you’ll see a bit of everything, even an occasional bald eagle. Keep your dog on a leash, coyotes frequent the park at dusk and dawn. Parking off of 144th is limited on the weekends, best to get there early if your not a neighborhood resident. Bring waste bags for your dogs, there are no receptacles for dog waste.

Pretty little lake in the middle of Westminster. Has a one mile well maintained trail for walking and biking. Allows fishing and kayaks permits. The boating permit is free from the city.

Gorgeous easy walk around the lake. Peaceful and relaxing.
