LOVE the climbing in this DIVERSE GYM, but they NEVER CLEAN. I've been a member for years now. Very well constructed with a VARIETY OF WALLS, slabs, overhangs, arĂȘte, chimney, and crack. Primarily set for TOP ROPING and bolted for LEAD CLIMBING, with additional large BOULDERING area, kids climbing, and FITNESS/TRAINING room. NEW ROUTES are continually being set and they're Grade-A. The front desk staff are always cool and friendly. The only trouble is that THE PLACE IS ALWAYS DIRTY and they haven't vacuumed or mopped the floors in literally many months. I thought that after the Covid-19 shutdown things might change, but since I returned in July (now December) I don't think they've cleaned the place. Sent e-mails to corporate with no reply. Left too many comment cards. Talked directly to staff and nothing has changed (management doesn't seem to come around much anymore, and removed their contact info from the website). It stinks seeing old Band-Aids and balls of hair on the floor and the clouds of chalk in the air. I'm continually surprised, considering they charge $20+ a day for visitors and $70+/month for members. You might think they'd care more about health and wellbeing during a global pandemic, but alas.

I’ve been climbing here for almost a year and I love a lot of things about this gym, but the number of kids programs that happen during peak hours is becoming an issue. I was hoping to get an endurance workout on an auto belay the other day, but they were all in use by kids in one of the gym’s climbing clubs. There were two staff members with the kids, but instead of actually belaying them, they just let the kids dominate the auto belays. The gym has two dedicated spaces for kids, one upstairs and one downstairs. There are tons of open autobelays upstairs with child friendly routes. Please sequester kids to these areas when it’s busy in the gym.

Go here!!! Great staff & loads of classes to help you improve your technique. Auto belays are available on your solo days. Yoga classes are included with monthly membership, as well as discounted prices on technique classes offered. They even provide courses to help you transition from indoor to outdoor climbs. The community is great - you’re bound to make friends along the way. Can’t say enough good things. Check out The Spot!

Tons of great climbing routes for bouldering and top rope/lead climbing. The largest indoor wall I’ve seen. Very impressive. However, the staff have not been the most welcoming or helpful. My first experience was so bad I almost didn’t return, but I continued to return. The staff seemed better, but compared to every other climbing gym I have been to from CO, to SF, to LFK, this gym had the worst staff. As much as I love the numerous routes with a wide range of styles and difficulty, their bouldering rating system is the worst I’ve seen. They attempt to utilized their name The Spot and uses red spots to indicate the rating system, but the system is overly complicated and could easily be simplified by just using one red spot with the V rating labeled on the dot, instead of counting the red dots, seeing if there’s a line or a plus through them and then figure out what that indicated just put the V rating. I shouldn’t need a guide system to read the rating of the routes.

We have been coming to this gym for a long time, through multiple names and ownerships. Ever since Spot took over and COVID era ended, this place is almost impossible to utilize for training unless you have odd hours off. The kids programs are everywhere. They have dedicated spaces for kids upstairs and downstairs (often empty), yet they still have super young kids at peak hours "climbing" in the main Bouldering area. It seems really dangerous as they don't have the best spatial awareness. In general there are youth programs taking up many routes and the workout area during times when the place is already a zoo from regular clients. I want to love it still, but it has unfortunately become a pretty unpleasant experience due to the chaos.

The Spot climbing team takes precedence over all other members. I have seen the quality of the gym and its treatment of its members degrade since it was converted from Evo. I usually do not mind the Spot team overcrowding the bouldering area, although this would probably deter many others as there usually are small children running around with minimal supervision. The route setting is great and interesting enough to divert my attention. However, the gym has started to block off the ENTIRE lead wall from 5:00 - 7:00 pm some evenings and have removed multiple auto-belays. How does the Spot justify reducing members' access to climbing routes so that their climbing team can train? If another rope climbing gym were to open in the Louisville area, I would immediately switch.

My daughter found the summer camp empowering and fun. Now whenever we pass any type of rock or boulder, she explains to me how she would climb it. I highly recommend this camp.

In response to the owner: looks like Google maps doesn’t allow me to reply directly to your reply so I hope you get this! I’m providing feedback on your routesetting. I gave this gym one star because the route setting is subpar, so much to the point that I cancelled my membership (been climbing indoors for 11 years now and am a routesetter myself). The owner asked for feedback to give to the routesetters: - the routes don’t have good flow - there is not consistent difficulty throughout each individual route. A v1 could start with jugs for the first few moves then suddenly you’re asking the climber to depend all their weight on a sideways pinch. You throw moves at grades that butcher the flow and confuse the overall grade - the uneven setting kills the rhythm of the climb, with some rocks seemingly turned the wrong way that makes the climb awkward. A v8 I was projecting tried to utilize a crimp that’s meant for a slab wall on an overhang, with no larger footholds to center your gravity on - there’s a difference between challenging and awkward. Not to mention lack of footholds at locations that would make sense
there were footholds but at the wrong areas. It wasn’t a challenge of trying to figure out where my center of gravity should go, the footholds were just placed so incorrectly that the problems turned awkward. I understand that climbing outdoors is very awkward too, but indoor gyms are supposed to be a place that fosters a passion for rock climbing for beginners and offers a place to train for the rest. Routesetting is crucial to your gym and ultimately what made the original spot climbing gym so successful. I hope this gym steps up its game, and has a checking system for its routesetters. I would recommend bringing in route setters from other successful gyms and having them pass on their knowledge. Maybe have them climb your routes and provide their feedback in real time. If routesetters just do what they like with their climbs and do not receive feedback and improve on it, your gym will struggle to retain its climbers, like it did with me.

My favorite climbing gym. The vibes are chill, energy is great, and they change up the routes often enough to where it gets mixed up but not so often you can't work one route for a bit. I love the separate kids sections, and the auto belay options for when I don't have a climbing partner. The bouldering section is my favorite, and the staff is super chill. 5/5, great gym keeps me climbin. Also, as a sensory sensitive individual, this gym is amazing. The lights aren't too overwhelming, the music isn't too loud, and it's usually not too crowded. Even when it is kind of crowded, The layout helps keep things spread out so you don't feel like you're on top of other people.

I've been climbing at this gym since it opened, and both before and after it's acquisition it's been the best gym in the area. Great bouldering, great toprope, and a nice big lead wall.

Just canceled my membership after joining years ago when they opened I took a date to the gym where I had been a member since they (Evo, now acquired by The Spot) built the place about 5 or 6 years ago.  She had her own gear, but hadn't climbed in a year and needed a refresher on belaying.  I was told by Zack that I was not allowed to show her anything safety related per their policy, that she should have signed up for a class.  He then followed us around the gym and confronted us again.  I backed off so he could check her off and proceeded to fail her, but wouldn't tell her what she did wrong.  Each gym has slightly different things they are looking for which are more preference oriented.  I had to climb the few autobelays while I could belay her.  It was rude and embarrassing for both me and my date. I canceled my membership in private stating I was not OK with the way they were treated.  On my way out with my date, he confronted me on not understanding why I was frustrated.  When I tried to explain it to him, he argued with me in front of my date. My experience with their other employees there has been completely different, as well as over my 20 years climbing at a dozen other gyms.  Since they are running a business, and we vote with our wallets in the US, I will be joining another gym.  A friend who has climbed for years at both said the routes are much better at G1, so maybe I'll give that a try.

HVAC has been broken for years and there is no concrete plan for fixing it. It's plenty comfortable in the winter but if it's any more than 50 degrees outside and sunny the temperature indoors quickly drifts into the upper 70s and there is little air movement outside of the bouldering gym. The gym itself is fine, the setting is good and there is a lot of options. It's just not worth it to me to pay $80/month to feel like I'm climbing outside. I cancelled my membership and switched to G1.

I don't understand any of the negative reviews. I think most of them were outdated, because the routes all feel amazing and I have made geniune friends with some staff, they are all amazing people. Never had a bad experience here and I've been going for circa six months.

Love this gym, setting is always consistent and the staff is super friendly. I find it to be pretty clean and there are lines on all the walls for people of all levels to enjoy. Lots of classes for beginners both indoor and outdoor and the kids seem to be having fun in their classes and camps! I'm not a huge fan of how they grade their Boulder problems, but honestly it isn't too big of an issue.

Awesome place for individuals and whole families of all ages. My wife and I moved to the local area and we brought our 7 year old and had a blast. I and my wife even ended up buying gear and will be starting a family membership. The staff is SUPER helpful and really nice. The facility is very well kept. Also have a fitness area upstairs. they have a kids area and childcare. They sell plenty of gear and snacks and drinks.

My third time climbing ever was at this gym and it could not have gone better! The auto-belay stations were convenient for when you’re not climbing with a belaying partner. My favorite place was their bouldering section. I didn’t expect to like bouldering as much as I did. They had a lot of cool routes; I got to traverse horizontally and tried my hands at hanging full-body. My climbing partner was knowledgeable so I felt at ease as a beginner. If I had gone by myself, I think it would’ve been a much more intimidating experience. Everyone who was there seemed very at ease with their surroundings as if they’ve been climbing since birth. In fact, there were a few families with little children at the bouldering walls. My ego was slightly bruised when I saw a kid half my height fly up the wall on a route that I had painstakingly completed 5 minutes earlier. I’ll definitely be back to try my hand at more bouldering routes.

Giving a three star rating for the following reasons. I’ve gone to the Boulder location a few times and the staff there are absolutely rude. Maybe it’s been my luck that the two times of gone there they had bad front desk staff. My only other complaint is they limit the amount of times your guest can go. For example I can’t take the same person once a month. They only allow guest a total of 3xs. I don’t know why care. I was considering switching to the spot but I think I’ll stick with my current gym since they always have great staff, it’s never super crowded and they don’t care who and how many times I take my guest for my monthly free pass.

I’m a member at Movement, but considered moving over to this gym chain since this particular location is closer. I called in, spoke with a woman named “Sasha”. Explained that I can’t get a buddy pass from a friend because I don’t know anyone here, but my wife and I would like to check them out and see if this could be the gym for us. I don’t want to pay $50 to check them out when I already have a membership and can climb free elsewhere. She understands, and says just come in and I can get free passes to check them out. Great! I get there and the parking lot is packed. For whatever reason 30+ bikers are having a meet up and hogging up the gym’s parking, which doesn’t seem right
Anyway I go in, get a tour from the actual Sasha (a male, not who I spoke to on the phone - seems like the staff is pretty immature and doesn’t even give their real names over the phone?) and then they say ok you can climb, but you have to pay $10
what? I tell him that not what the woman I spoke to on the phone said and I drove all the way over here. “Sorry but she shouldn’t have said that” is his only response. I just left, drove onto Movement Boulder, which was way less busy, and even offered members a free beer after climbing as a way to celebrate being open 14 years. I’m not even mad at Sasha, but The Spot should really just empower their employees to help people check them out and grow membership. I don’t care about $10, but I do care about spending my money at a place that cares at least a little about customer service. I honestly wonder why I even considered leaving Movement after the bizarre experience I had here tonight and the 5 star experience I had at Movement Boulder. The difference between the two could not be more apparent. The only positive thing I observed was a free EV charger in the parking lot, which is a really nice touch. This was just a very disappointing experience and a complete waste of time. I hoped this would be less busy and a relaxed atmosphere, but it’s just as crowded as any other climbing gym in the area. I’ll happily keep on spending my thousands of dollars at Movement instead - it’s a no brainer.

The staff here are fantastic and super helpful. The gym is well kept and maintained. Great place for a beginner to learn, I would strongly recommend taking the ropes class with Alex. He's a great teacher that works with you and encourages you along the way. The gym is broken up with about 70% of the gym dedicated to ropes with some auto belay machines with the other 30% being bouldering. They have a lot of gym equipment upstairs for training as well as a yoga room.

The $50 membership initiation fee that’s not listed anywhere on the website was an unwelcome surprise. Bouldering was a bit disappointing- the walls were pretty sparse so there weren’t a lot of climbs, and many of them lacked ratings. Top rope was good, walls are much taller than the gyms in boulder, and lots of autobelays.

Great for kids! Our 3yo has been going to classes, and we've been really impressed - especially with the great coaching staff. He previously took lessons at another kids-specific climbing gym in the area, and this is sooooo much better.

Great climbing gym with top rope, bouldering and even a kids section. Was a solid discount on Friday which was great. Friendly staff with good amenities. Lots of climbing space for all skill levels and ages. Highly recommended.

I really wanted to love this and leave a positive review, but... I've NEVER climbed before. Anywhere. And the intro classes are not at convenient times for me. I was hoping that the staff would at least take 5 minutes to show me the basics - for safety sake if nothing else. But nope! He was barely engaged while working to find me shoes that fit and I filled out the waiver. When I started asking about where to go, etc. (cause I've never been here before, remember), he reluctantly got up, showed me the walls and kinda (not really) explained the dot system...which still doesn't really make sense to me since I didn't even see dots on many of the routes. He pointed in the direction of the bathroom and lockers as well as said what is upstairs, but never bothered to walk me around or anything. Honestly, I get better service at the grocery store!! Very disappointed...Might be different at one of their other locations, but I'm reluctant to even try at this point...and certainly not feeling like I want to shell out money for private instruction. Also, while I was there, there were ZERO other females. It was very uncomfortable and did not feel women-friendly at all! They need better staff and more intro class times throughout the day and week. If you know what you're doing and don't care about service, it might be fine...

So good I came back and got a membership! They have a fairly robust Boulder area, many top rope and lead climb, plus a few auto belay. The upstairs gym area is phenomenal. Everything is clean (obviously chalk dust is everywhere) and tidy, people are chill and staff are friendly. They play decent music as well, think Spotify-top 40-poptronic. Edit: still great, still worth the membership 👍

Favorite gym in Colorado. Super chill staff and lovely yoga studio & multi-functional space upstairs. The team is constantly laying out new routes so you don’t get bored

Love this gym and the staff. It can get crazy crowded and people aren't always looking out for each other so be sure to proceed with caution but the routes both bouldering and top rope are well set and test my limits every time I come. I highly recommend getting a membership if you plan on going 2-3 times a week. The gym upstairs is small but has all the necessities. Come send it!!

I have been a member of these gyms for a year and a half, and I advise anyone interested in climbing NOT to come to the spot. Every single weekday the gym gets more and more overcrowded and it is getting to the point where I may stop climbing here all together. There are larger gyms that can handle this number of people, the spot is not one of them. This goes for all locations. They're all way too crowded now...

My wife and I went here today and brought two friends with us, this place was a BLAST!!! We were all pretty much first time climbers and have never been to a place like this, it was so much fun and we are definitely considering a membership! The staff was great, very friendly and informative! This place is HUGE and great for all skill levels, even completely beginners like us. The vibe was amazing so chill and encouraging, literally we are going to sign up...I'm also excited to see what this event coming up on March 12th is all about! It's funny that going in to this place I knew nothing about climbing but after leaving we are all hooked and want to be a part of the rock climbing community, everyone is so cool! *** UPDATE *** WE are now members!!

I havent been a fan of the spot for years, but last night took the cake. Their so called bouldering 'comp' turned out to be nothing but an overpriced climbing session, where only the open/pro category mattered. First, while going over the comp rules, the MC stated that the "beginner climbs are just for warm-ups and hopefully no one is actually pushing hard on those." Excuse me? Isn't this supposed to be a friendly climbing community that supports all levels of climbing? Then, this so called 'comp' didn't even recognize the winners of the beginner thru advanced categories. Because if they're not pros, who really cares, right? We're all just "here to have fun." Don't label it as a competition and have competitors track their climbs if you're not going to freaking do anything with it. Why charge $50 a head and not at least celebrate each level? Oh, right. Profit. Greed. Nice. I ended my membership with the spot a few years back (I originally joined when the gym was Evo) and I am so glad I left. Looking forward to future competitions elsewhere -- where everyone matters. Peace out, spot. I won't be back.

It's a great gym, big improvement on the original. Very nice workout area and doesn't get their AC fan combo handles hot days pretty well. Love the auto belays and the boards.
