Always a very congested fishing spot, but the patience normally pays off. There are a great assortment of fish here and some fairly decent sized catches. There are elevated docks and a path all the way around the lake. It is a very nice setup to have available to the community. I believe gates close at 22:00.

Covered picnic tables. Portapotties in key areas to get out of the wind to warm up. Until spring, the winds off the lakes gets pretty brisk. Ample parking. Great to just cruise around the lakes.

While the lake is known to be great for fishing, it is really over fished at this time. I also wouldn't recommend this to just walk around or take a jog as there are a lot of people fishing here who just seemed off and perhaps homeless. I believe that as of April 1st 2019 there is now a 10 dollar fishing fee because of how over fished the lakes are. While this is pricey I do hope it is true as the lake is just pressured way to much and there is basically no catch and release happening. I would recommend this to anyone trout fishing with a fair bit of patience.

Nice paved walking trail and the area is well maintained, lots of pretty sights and ducks. Trail goes right along the Platte shore. Peaceful for a city trail.
