Nice local campground great for getting away for a quick, easy trip. The electrical hookups are nice, the sites are well maintained, the restrooms are always clean and the playground is great for kids. We love to take the trails around for exploring. There isn't much in the way of shade at the sites, so definitely bring your own, but the views when the sun comes up or goes down are gorgeous. Big Soda Lake is great when it's not crowded. Sometimes it gets so busy you can't even see the lake from the shore, skip it then. You can also go horseback riding at the stables here too. The quick one hour tour was great! We also really like the archery range. Lots to do here depending on what you're interested in!

Pros-Nice, safe, well spaced, reasonably priced, great location to access the best of what Denver area has to offer. Beautiful park, and lots of activities within the facility to entertain! Cons- no shade, wind, Bandemere racing sounds. Donโ€™t pass up this chance to camp at this location!

Beautiful area, because itโ€™s right next to the mountains, a nice view of ranges and a giant Home Depot. Moderate road noise and other engine noises. Big 5th wheels and class Aโ€™s welcomed, didnโ€™t felt very welcomed for tent or small campers. I was in a small camper, we like to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. $25 a night, water is available but far from some sites, vault toilets, I wouldnโ€™t stay here again for โ€œcampingโ€.

It's surprisingly quiet for a campground that's essentially next to a major highway. The campsites are far enough apart that you don't feel like you're in a sardine park, and the view of the city is mostly blocked by the flood control dams. There are hiking and bike paths in the park, and you're also close to several MTB trails outside the park. Red Rocks is very nearby if concerts are your thing. The only reason for 4 stars is that not all campsites have water, so you'll need to fill before you get here or use their fill station which is pretty slow. Overall I would recommend staying here if you're looking for something near the city that feels like it's not in the city.

Great campground for the whole family! Has 50amp hookup but not full hookups. On sight fill up of fresh water and a sewage dump that is free to use. Excellent location for day trips to Denver Zoo or shopping; just be prepared for the new attraction around town, Denver Traffic. Has showers and bathrooms that have soap and paper towels. Camp host on sight. If you reserve a spot it comes with your park pass. Also have great hiking, bike, horse trails. On sight horseback riding lessons, archery range, and lake to visit. We will definitely come again.

We love this place....in nature but still close to town. I wish the camp host would be more struct with the quiet time rule after 10 pm though

Loved this campground! It was my first camping experience. The grounds were very clean, lots of outdoor activities to do on site, and very quiet/ private. Only complaint is that we had to pay for showers ($1.75) and didnโ€™t see that advertised on the website. Other than that, canโ€™t complain!

Stayed in an RV. Beautiful spot to camp with lots of grass and hills around. Not full hookups but thereโ€™s a shared dump and water station. We saw a guy dump his toddlers poop right in the grass, which was super gross. Otherwise, good spot!!

You do have electricity but need to have your water tank full . There is a dump station and they have a few water stations just not hookups for campers.

Often Sold out, must reserve camping weeks in advance to stay here. But if you are persistent you can often get a campsite on short notice for a day or two. Great place to stay with running water available, hot showers and flush toilets. Close to Morrison, Golden and west side of Denver.

Nice CG. Spacious, good views, decent site spacing, certainly not crowded in Oct. No shade trees. Reasonably priced (these days!) at about $35/ night for 30amp back-in site. Water fill station on perimeter entry road, and spigots around park; 2-vehicle dump station on perimeter exit road. 2+ miles from E470 exit. This is NOT a Colo. State Park; it is a City of Lakewood 2800-acre open space park with lakes, trails, campground & RV park. Lots of outdoor activities are available in park.

Have been using the group loop for 6 years ... Great in town campground. Not that it is next to both 470 & 285, so you can get traffic noise. Also note that there is significant light pollution and nearby interchange lights. The group loop does not have much vegatation nor does it have trees, but does have its own restroom next to the loop, 2 water spigots, 5 picnic tables and 6 electric hookup spots. Can be quite windy and no available cover. As long as you are prepared it is an easy spot for in town camping, our cub scout pack uses it every year.

It's probably pretty nice, but I wouldn't know. I've tried to go camping there a few times now and it's always full no matter the time of year. Probably won't try again.

Great park outside of Denver. Inside Bearcreek state park. Near red rocks state park. Lots to do in and arround the area.

Let me be clear: this is a Campground, Google, so there are no "rooms". There are 46 campsites, a rentable yurt, and 3 tiny rentable cabins. The campground is almost treeless. There is potable water. The campground is bounded by a bike path and a couple of hiking trails along Turkey Creek. Check out amenities for Bear Creek Lake PARK (vs. CAMPGROUND) on the website,

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ New favorite park! I can't believe there are beavers here! Incredible scenery, good atmosphere for a peaceful walk. Lots of wildlife! We saw frogs, beaver, muskrat, giant fish, all kinds of birds, absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to go again! Also, was there early Saturday morning, and it wasn't...
