Unfortunately, I wish I could give this apartment company zero stars. I lived at Pines at Marston Lake for over a year and really don't have much positives to give. I typically do not write bad reviews but I want to make sure I warn people before they have an experience similar to mine. For the most part everything is cheap and within the first couple of months living there I had such a bad leak from the bathroom above us, we weren't able to use our shower for a few days, our microwave had to be replaced, our toilet had to be fixed at least five times, and our air conditioner also went out. (Our friends who also live here also don't have an operating AC unit and finally gave up and just don't use it) We had to call maintenance WAY more than you should while staying somewhere for a little over a year. Then, we had one of the most unprofessional experiences with management. Our car was parked near the mail room and our neighbor got video footage of the lawn maintenance accidentally running over a rock with a lawn mower and launching a rock at our vehicle, completely shattering our window. We had video footage and tried to contact management for nearly everyday for well over two weeks and the "person who could help" was never in and NEVER called us back. Still, to this day, has not gotten back to us even though we had video footage from our neighbor at the time, so we had to eat that 300 dollar bill that had everything to do with their lawn maintenance. Finally, the straw that broke the camel's back was the invoice we just received after our lease had ended. We had a dog, who is completely potty trained and not only were we billed for the enzyme treatment ($450 dollars) we were also billed an additional $150 for new carpet. Why would you get an enzyme treatment for carpet that had to be replaced anyway? This only shows that they are incredibly dishonest and have zero interest in being fair to their tenants. Along with not having many amenities at all, this place was more of a headache than any other apartment I've ever experienced and I've lived in over seven at this point. If you value your sanity and wallet, please find a better place to call your home.

I have lived here 4 years. For the most part its been relatively pleasant. The staff is helpful with most concerns and they respond in a timely manner and the maintenance is fairly good. However my biggest conplaint has to be the parking lot.It has become increasingly frustrating to park here. There are vehicles with flat tires and expired plates as well as commercial work vehicles parked here. Therefore if I arrive home anytime after 8pm I am having to circle the parking lot for up to 45 minutes before I can find a spot near my unit. After a long day of work I don't enjoy having to wait for parking spaces to open up. I do love living here, don't love having to worry about going out late at the risk of losing a parking spot.

Cars get broken into, theres no assigned parking, so your forced to park on the street, and far away from your unit, people don't listen to the one car per unit rule. For the amount of money thats paid to the apartments there should be at least one parking spot assigned to your unit.

I never got to leave a review for this apartment complex but I lived there from 2019 to 2021 so roughly 2 years. If you are looking for an honest review here it is... I would first like to say that the people who work in the office have always been nice, Daniella at the time was the person I preferred to speak to. She was always nice and helpful. As far as maintenance, I believe I only reached out to them once. Something was wrong with the toilet and they were able to fix it the next day. I can't say I was too happy about the exterior maintenance. When it would snow, a maintenance person wouldn't shovel the side walks until mid day. So I had actually slipped and hurt myself 3 times and my husband slipped 2 times as well because of this. Ice would build up easily and you would have to reach out to the office to have someone come out and have salt poured out. As far as the outside, yes the grass is kept nice and it really is a nice view. If you hate bugs, this isn't the best place for you. The ponds around tend to attract huge bugs and the lights outside your doors stay on, so you will have large amounts of bugs outside your door. I would have wished to have the staircases cleaned once in a while, I personally at some point would sweep the outside of my door and the walls since spiders would make huge spider webs and all these bugs would be hanging over your apartment entrance. Next, I would like to mention that you will be a victim of car break ins. In the 2 years I lived there, my husband's motorcycle was stolen, one of my cars windows was broken into and my husband's truck was also broken into. I know for a fact that there are watchers, they will watch you and your cars. I would like to add that there wasn't enough security, and if there was they obviously didn't do enough to watch out for the complex. The apartment itself isn't too bad, they are clean and never once did I spot a cockroach or bed bugs. The water pressure is good too. The bedrooms are spacious but the living room we had was small. Also, there isnt very many windows, so the apartment can appear very gloomy and dark. It's a bit outdated, if you have lived at newer apartments you can definitely see the difference. It isn't the worst place but I do feel like there is room for improvement.

The pines at marston is a decent apartment complex to live in. my boyfriend and i share an apartment with our two cats, and the biggest complaint would be the thin walls. they are very thin, i can tell you where our upstairs neighbor is in their apartment at all times. however there’s nothing the office can do about that obviously, just something to consider if you are thinking about a lower level apartment. also can hear every dog in the surrounding area. our apartment was very clean and definitely ready for move in, which was unlike some of the other apartments we’ve moved into. the leasing office seems very hard to get a hold of via email. the entire application process was done via email and i had no trouble getting a response back then, but since i have yet to receive a single email back. i had sent them an email to let them know about our 60 day notice for move out (in writing as the lease requires) and didn’t receive a response for 3 days. i called their office to see if they had received my email, was told they hadn’t received an email from me, and was informed we had to come sign a notice in person in the leasing office. had i not called when i did, we wouldn’t have known about it in time to sign with 60 days notice. that’s definitely something they should be letting their residents know considering we had gotten a letter on our door stating they require 60 day notices. parking is terrible. if you’re getting home after 5pm you will not find a spot near your building. due to this my boyfriend had to park on the street most days and had his plates stolen right off his car at some point. i’ve seen a lot of reviews giving similar info, so be cautious. we even had a guy stop us in the parking lot the day we were moving in to warn us about the car thefts and vandalism that seemed to frequent this complex. overall a decent place to live. if you are looking for an affordable basic needs apartment, this place will suit you well.

    1. I am a real person. 2. I renewed my lease here and chose to continue to commute to my job because of the experiences I have had with the maintenance staff and leasing office. Oxhana, Angie, a Diane are good at what they do and want you to live here. It’s evident at each level of this complex. The maintenance staff has even come out on Sundays with less than an hours notice to fix needs. These people actually care which I cannot say for really any other community I’ve lived at. Also, literally never had an issue with neighbors or hearing footsteps, all around rockstar community. 3. Seriously thank you for all you have done for me and mine.

I have lived here for almost a year and I can now say it has been the worst place I have lived. The leasing office has never been helpful with any issue I have experienced, and they have been extremely rude every step of the way. I’m sad because I loved living here, I love my apartment and the area is great. It has a very homey and inviting feeling to it, however the leasing office needs a major adjustment.

I have lived at the Pines at Marston Lake since 2015 and am very happy with this apartment complex! I’ve had a few minor maintenance issues over the years, but the Maintenance team is top-notch!! I have lived in apartments over the past 30 years and have never been in a community where the Maintenance team is this good. Seriously! They are very responsive and almost always come out the day that I have submitted a non-emergency work request (if it’s not too late in the day). Even on weekends, the Maintenance team is responsive. On a recent Sunday, my furnace fan went out so the AC wouldn’t work. I called Maintenance and they were here in about 30 minutes to replace the motor. The property is maintained very well. The lawn is always mowed and looks nice. When it snows, the sidewalks are always shoveled and the parking lots are plowed. The apartments are spacious and have nice amenities. My unit has stainless steel appliances, lots of storage and closet space, large balconies, and wood burning fireplaces. The office staff is awesome! They are responsive to questions and are always friendly and helpful. I’ve lived in places where the office staff regularly changes, but this place is not like that. People in the office know who I am and will say hello when I walk in. I feel a part of the community. I recently worked with Jamie, the new Property Manager and she was very friendly and helpful. Before moving here, I looked at more than 25 complexes and am happy that I made a good choice with the Pines. Thank you!

Lived here for two years, the master bedroom was MASSIVE. Same with the walk in closet! The washer and dryer being full sized was amazing! Moving from here wasn't ideal but we couldn't stay because of the rent increase. The office ladies were awesome, the work orders were always filled within 24-36 hours. They always left a summary of the work done, then followed up by a phone call from the office.

The parking lot is a mess. It is impossible to find a spot anytime after 5 pm. The lot is plagued by work trucks and cars that seem abandoned since they have flat tires and expired tags. Especially around building 9. With the snow plows taking up spots for snow, the situation is only getting worse. Overall the apartments look good. However the walls are relatively thin so you can hear dogs barking and neighbors walking and talking at all times of the day. Only gets worse at night. The hired security is relatively useless. Every time I’ve tried to call I get a voicemail and the one time I made it through to someone, they told me they couldn’t do anything about a dog barking. It had been howling for 8 hours before I called. People in the office are nice and seem to mean to do well, but I have yet to see any kind of action on any of the issues. Also got a noise complaint today about me being too loud after hours. I’ve been gone all weekend. Never had anyone tell me to quiet down so not sure where the complaint is from. Overall I would avoid this place. Cannot recommend to a friend. An enemy though.

Anything above 3 stars just can't be a real person. EDIT: JUST FOUND OUT THEY GIVE YOU A GIFT CARD FOR A 5 STAR REVIEW. ALL 5 STAR REIVEWS ARE PAID FOR. Typing this at 5am because I was woken up, again, JUST from how loud our tiny 120lb upstairs neighbor is walking... in their carpeted bedroom. It's like this entire complex is built out of cardboard. Expect to hear EVERYTHING, from every single neighbor to the side and above you. Police will not do anything about noise complaints either, which happens often probably due to how close this is to DU. Lots of inconsiderate people who clearly do not know etiquette for renting apartments. Avoid like the plague unless you like hearing your inconsiderate neighbors 24/7 and don't care about getting proper sleep. They also haven't fixed the toilet since we moved in a month ago.... it was a damage on the move in sheet.

It has been a pleasure living here but a big shout out to Joel in maintenance. He is the most friendly person and it was a great meeting him and welcoming him in my home. Took care of my maintenance issue immediately and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you for having a caring a friendly staff.

I had the pleasure of calling the Pines my home for 7-years and loved every day I was there. Excellent customer service with the leasing office; maintenance requests were handled swiftly and the employees were all incredibly helpful and kind; the grounds were kept clean and well taken care of - over the 7 years I was there they re-paved the parking lot a few times including fixing many pot holes, upgraded the ponds and public outdoor areas. Snow removal was always done immediately during bad snowstorms. Good communication via email and paper notices on doors. Friendly neighbors and I felt safe living there alone. Regular night patrols by Oculus. Great location to shopping (mall, shops, and grocery stores) and easy convenient location to main highways and roads. Pool is a little bit on the small size but still accessible and never too crowded and great to get some sun. Will highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a reasonably priced apartment with good amenities, great location, and friendly & responsive employees. Thank you Pines for a fabulous living experience and home over those 7-years!

It has been great renting here. Maintenance was a big factor in our experience. Anytime we had an issue, Billy was there very quickly to fix it. The views of Marston lake are really nice and the community here is respectful.

Nice community but moved out June 2023 due to rent increase. I'm trying to put my daughter through college and the raising of rent doesn't help

I’ve been here almost 2 months and I absolutely love it. Kerri and Joy have been so helpful during the application process I was due to have a baby any day and they made it easy for me to get into the apartment asap. This is the best experience I’ve had compared to all the other apartments I’ve lived at. I love the layout and space I pay for. It’s quiet and I feel very safe here. My son loves to go out and play the the duckies 😊 and ride his bike. 5star +

The team at The Pines is incredible. I feel very well taken care of. Joy at the front office is so pleasant to talk to and has helped me so much along the way. Additionally, Billy who handles maintenance, is very caring and compassionate and quick to respond. With the freezing temperatures this winter and many nights below 0, he has been very responsive to address run of the mill problems that can arise from such freezing temperatures. He’s really great. Really appreciate this community and feeling safe and taken care of when things arise.
