Here's my take on the recent price increase. I never thought twice about going to a movie when they were below a certain level. Then that level was broken. I had to really think of I wanted to go. The few extra bucks didn't affect me but it was about value for the dollar The more I said no, the less I went. I feel like steam will be this soon. A good place. Clean and good service. But I no longer not think about going. And soon my dollars will go elsewhere Oh and bring back the big sheet!

This is a place to come and relax, sure it's a bit dated but it is quite clean. It is a nude bath and depending on your level of comfort, it eventually becomes normal. The staff is very friendly and will explain how things work if it's your first time. The massage from Sergio was amazing and I felt so relaxed afterwards that after I left and came back to my hotel room, I slept like a baby. When I make it back to Denver, hopefully soon, I'll be dropping in for some relaxation.

Lake Steam has always been clean and welcoming. They provide a safe and therapeutic environment. I haven't tried the massage therapists yet, but I am looking forward to it. The new remodel is awesome. The dry sauna, steam room and hot tub are so welcoming. They provide days for men and women. They seem to be LGBTQ+ friendly. There is adjacent parking and it is easy to get in and out. The staff is friendly and answers questions easily. I will be back and recommend this place to relax.

This is a pretty barebones operation. Everything (seems to be) is original to when it opened. Don't expect to go with a friend and chat anywhere outside of the locker room. You will be shushed. Overall, even for the age, it is quite clean and comfortable. It is not co-ed so make sure you are going during the appropriate hours. It's pretty small. There is a single hot tub, a handful of showers, one cold shock shower, one hot and dry steam room. Parking is around back. Get there early. Sweat, relax, enjoy!

Awesome experience and a great little bath house. I've been to several sento and onsen in the Tokyo area and had a favorite Korean bath house that I visited when I lived in Dallas. This felt like a very quaint bath house since it's only a single sex bath house and rotates that on days. The main dry sauna room is very large and has multi level seating areas with access to buckets and cold water on tap. The wet sauna is rather small and can only hold about 10 people. Same with the hot tub, it's small and can only hold about 8 people comfortably. Lots of places to lounge and cool off while relaxing. Overall a good experience and will be back again.

I think the steam bars in and of themselves are great! I love that there’s a place where people can come to soak and steam publicly. My review is actually about my massage therapist, Cynthia, who honestly I did not enjoy my massage with. She actually tossed (threw) my arm under the sheet! I think the baths themselves are great! But just be really clear about what you want for your massage so you got a massage therapist who works for you.

Such a gem! I had the reflexology massage w Cherie and it was amazing. So relaxing and what an amazing value. The place is not fancy but it’s clean. And if you know what a Russian/Turkish bath house experience is like, you won’t be disappointed. I do wish they had a couple more room options but I’ll be back 😊

OK I've been here a few times and have loved it. The dry steam room is perfectly hot. Gets me sweating and tomato red. It's very spacious and the cold water taps in that room are genius and put to good use. Love stretching out fully and laying down. The steam room can be full sometimes, so on rare occasions you may need to wait your turn. It's a really great steam room, Again great heat. I like the Eucalyptus spray in there too. It's good for when some of us musky men are in there haha. Hot tub is good, don't really go for it honestly. I'd say it's relaxing. The jets are good for tissue relaxation. The showers have soap dispensaries which I also really like. Oh! Also friendly front staff. M you are always so nice!

I went to this place during my visit to Denver, it was interesting. The staff were friendly especially the front desk guy with the glasses. If you are wondering if this is a bath house or not, it’s not. Or not a typical one at least. You pay about $30 to enjoy the sauna the steam room, the Jacuzzi, the showers. A bathtub and they give you a locker. After you get in, they give you a towel and it’s a cloth optional place for sure . So you would enjoy watching for the most part. Or maybe some light touches the max ha ha. If you want to add a massage or body scrub exfoliation you can for a decent price. I did it and it felt so good. The massage was good at self and doing it in public was also fun. But if you are in Denver, you should hit it and give it a try.

Clean facilities. Cold tub, hot tub, sauna and steam room all provide a restorative oasis. Highly recommended for athletes! Don't forget your large water bottle and shower shoes!

This is not a high-end spa palace! If you want a great, deep-tissue massage, whirlpool, dry and wet sauna. This is the place!! No frills, expresso, or juice bar. Just the basics at an affordable price.

New management has spruced the place up a bit, which is nice. I enjoy the freedom to soak, steam, or use the sauna sans clothing in an environment where nudity is the norm. I would prefer if all those using the steam room kept their hands to themselves and off themselves. I have used massage services several times and have found the therapists to be quite good at their work.

Had a pretty good experience for my first visit. The locker rooms and other common areas were nicely kept. The sauna room was at a perfect temperature. The steam room is pretty small but it leaves you feeling refreshed. They have recently added a cold plunge bath (it's just a big rubber maid container) no one really occupied but it was to have that option. The gentleman who was running the desk was very kind and went over the basics with me. You are provided a large sheet and a small hand towl. Locks for lockers are also available to rent for $3.00 or you can take your own lock and just use the locker free of charge) There were two vending machines in the locker room, one was snacks, the other a nice variety of hydration drinks. The drink vending machine took cash or card. I can't wait to come back. This is a really nice place to just get away to.

This was a pleasant surprise! Clean and affordable spot with a touch of history. Regular sized steam room, large sauna cold with potable water, cold water tub, hot tub, a few lovely places on tile to lay down post heat and several massage options. Lockers were solid too. Remember, either be fully naked or wear a full bathing suit, no halfsies.

Always an enjoyable experience. If you want a schvitz where no one will bother you, this is the place. Family run, not corporate, fair prices. The eucalyptus-infused steam room is the best!

A wonderful place to rejuvenate after an arduous hike! I left feeling so relaxed. Ultra zen. Very nice to newbies too. 10/10, I will gladly make this a stop next time I’m in Denver! Just make sure to check whether it’s a women’s day or men’s day before you visit.

A classic! I love going here at least a couple times a month. This place is a gem, and as they undergo renovations I believe it will only get better. I love seeing all the women who have been coming for decades, and I hope to become one of them eventually. :) Also, it's a good place to get a nice massage at a VERY decent price!

Clean, unpretentious, amazing value! So nice to relax and rejuvenate among women all enjoying the hot tub, cold plunge, sauna and steam room. The salt scrub exfoliation and massage were extras well worth the added dollar a minute cost. I brought lunch and enjoyed it in the simple but clean break room. Don’t forget a lock and your birthday suit! I will be back.

Hidden gem! Old Denver at its finest! Love this place. JC (Jessica) gives amazing massages. Co-Ed night on Tuesdays is a great opportunity to introduce friends to the steam and sauna ritual in swimsuits. I’ve been enjoying Lake Steam’s Ladies days since 1997 and I am grateful to new owners for keeping the baths open and making improvements! Favorite and best place in town. To me, similar to Russian and Turkish baths on lower east side in NYC but right here in Denver!

Amazing spa that has been apart of the denver community for generations! The staff os very kind and welcoming of newcomers, me and my Friend were given a walk through of the facility and we even got a massage. I highly recommend this spa to anyone looking to unwind in a quiet relaxing environment.

Need to start going here more often. Great bathhouse on Colfax. Only suggestion I have is please offer an easier way for patrons to fill larger water bottles. The provided cups are small, and my large water bottle doesn’t fit in the sink. Come with your water bottle already filled!

I’m new to Lake Steam and I love it. On the one hand, it feels like a trip back in time; and on the other hand, it’s the best because it’s transporting you to another time. It’s nice to relax with like minded people, no phones / distractions, in a warm, friendly, and inviting space.

I love these old-school holdouts!! They do something right, do it well, and do it consistently. I get it.....guys being naked round each other sounds strange in the U.S. But check your unfounded biases, do something great for your own self-care, and enjoy something special. This place is legit.

Since you are getting numerous reviews and requests for a weekend day for women and you say the post COVID attendance wasn't enough to warrant a weekend day for women -- how about doing a pilot to open Sundays for women and see if the attendance goes back to the pre-COVID days. There are so many women who want to come on Sundays (including me) that it might be worth a try to see if this would work again. Try it for three months and then see how it goes. You never know unless you try it. Thank you.

I had a great experience here, and I’ll definitely be back! They have a hot tub with a cold shower next to it, a sauna with cool water to dump on yourself when you get too hot, and a eucalyptus steam room. They have showers with soap dispensers as well. The days/times are divided by male and female (I went Oct 2022). Massages are available as well as a salt scrub. I got a 15 min scrub by Charlotte, and it was incredible. I hadn’t felt that relaxed and pain-free in a long time.

Lovely old school European Bathhouse in the heart of Denver, made me feel like I was back in Finland where I had a similar experience with the bathhouses there. Staff are friendly and helpful to old and newcomers alike to help them with the bathhouse experience. LGBTQ friendly as well. Will definitely be coming back over the winter months to warm up and relax from the cold winters we have here in Denver.

Really loved paying 30 dollars to listen to Russians yell inside of a concrete sauna while getting splattered with sweat as they smack each other with bushels of leaves. I would have been okay if I just left, but having to pay to be subjected to that, so now I'm leaving a review . Other than that, it's a wonderful spot... I've been coming pretty regularly over the last 2 years but they just let these people run rampant on Sundays with no regard to the other patrons. It will be a while before I go back. Try Havana Spa or Indian hot springs in Idaho Springs.
