Littleton Museum is a great family-friendly place, with a 1860s and 1890s homestead and farm to walk around, through, and enjoy. The place spans over 16 acres. Some employees dress in period-appropriate clothing and show how life might have been like at that time. When visiting yesterday, we saw a blacksmith and a gardener at work. The farm had a variety of animals, such as chickens, pigs, and cows. Littleton Museum also has indoor exhibits to enjoy. There’s much to see and enjoy. I highly recommend going.

Just a great place to go for a fun afternoon out. Good for young families with kids, or seniors like us. We were a little concerned about a visit in January - thought the outdoor farms might be closed for the winter, but everything was in full swing at the 1860 and 1890 farms, as well as the blacksmith shop where several nice gentlemen took us through what they were making at the forge. The history exhibits inside were great and enjoyed the newer theater where you can watch videos about the museum and Littleton history.

Incredibly charming historical living-farm and museum. The museum has a wonderful collection of Littleton history and artifacts as well as more contemporary artistic exhibits. There’s even a whole section dedicated to the kiddos. The farm has a multitude of livestock and several gardens scattered across the complex. It’s October and there was an entire field of pumpkins with a super cute little display set up for pictures.

We did not know anything about the museum before reaching there, we had no expectations. To out utter surprise it was an amazing exhibition hall, cum museum depicting the industrial history of littleton. Most importantly the two farms are part of this museum. We loved the experience of wandering around two farm houses ffrom 1860 and 1890. I would definitely recommend visiting this museum for educational program or a visit. There are plenty of parking, easy accessibility, and restrooms for everyone to enjoy this museum maintained by the littleton city council.

Love this experience. Took a leisurely walk through the farm. Saw a horse, pig, cow, chickens, lambs, all in a farm setting. Toured the 1880s house and blacksmith barn. Such a cute place and great for kids.

I took my 2 kids and we had a blast. Its free, but they accept donations. They have piglets right now who are very cute. They also have an exhibition on mining in Colorado. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

From someone who has lived and worked on a farm, and around multiple farms, this is not how to treat farm animals, they too like to have clean and fresh hay, and clean stalls/pins. Not only feed and hay, but they like to graze throughout the day too, I’m just not quite sure they’re actually getting the care they require. The staff there were nice, and polite, the information about Littleton was interesting too, and they had quite a bit. Overall though, if you’re wanting an authentic 19th century western vibe, check out an actual farm. Most farmers would be excited people took an interest, especially a chance to show the younger generation farming/ranching.

Had a great afternoon here! I'm not a museum person so wasn't expecting much but we spent hours here - the animals and homes were so fun to look at. The staff was so friendly and taught us so many interesting facts about the time period! We will definitely be back and checking out their summer camps!

I was a lucky chaperone for my child’s kindergarten field trip. We were all so excited to visit this living farm. When we arrived Ms Angela gathered us into a room to provide information. She proceeded to say where things were on the farm by pointing, however we were inside the building and not familiar with “over to the right” or “all the way to the left”! I took my group out to the farms. We had no idea where we could and couldn’t go, and they must have been short staffed because we only saw 2other staff members, who seemed to busy to answer any of the curious kindergarten questions. As we gathered near the entrance to leave, the woman in the front told us several times, this wasn’t the entrance or exit for field trips. It was for “the public”. She did not even attempt to hide her irritation with our group. They had a stack of one page maps on a table. My group (4 kids) asked me if they can have one to show their parents where they had gone. I thought that was a great idea and said yes. Well, Ms Unfriendly gate keeper of maps was beyond irritated huffing and puffing. Ms Angela comes up and they proceed to whisper to each other and roll their eyes. They told the kids, “why do you need a map, those are for the public when they arrive”. Well, Ms Angela, we were never offered a map. We paid to visit this place and if you are not comfortable with kindergarteners please do not allow this age group. You successfully made my group feel unwelcomed.

Great experience. Lovely staff and facilities. They have live reenactments of metal working and knitting in the 1890-1900s western era. Photos are attached, thanks.

What a hidden treasure. The museum is fairly impressive for being in a small town like Littleton, and the adjacent old farm buildings and fields with horses, pigs, cows, sheep, chickens, geese, etc. make it a super cool place to visit. Awesome place to take kids. We also got to see a demonstration from a blacksmith making key chains. All this, and no admission charge at all. Truly a gem in Littleton worth checking out!

An excellent destination for an enjoyable afternoon outing awaits you at this place. It caters well to both young families with children and seniors like ourselves. Initially, we had some reservations about visiting in January, as we were unsure if the outdoor farms would be closed for the winter season. However, to our delight, everything was bustling at the 1860 and 1890 farms, along with the blacksmith shop. We were graciously guided by several kind gentlemen who showcased their craftsmanship at the forge. The indoor history exhibits were remarkable, and we particularly relished the newer theater where we could watch informative videos about the museum and the history of Littleton.

We love the Littleton Museum! Every time we go the experience is different with the fun and quaint farm as well as a gallery that hosts constantly rotating exhibits. A great place to bring our kids and a free resource for the community.

Not sure how it is funded but if tax dollars are used it is a great place to allocate the funds! Hun experience for the entire family. We loved the animals and history about the area. The best part is it is no cost except thru donations.

I really like walking around, it's a cool place. The only downfall is that people refuse to follow the rules(photo attached). I'm so in love with the Turkey 🫢

Great small museum to learn about Littleton in the 1860s and 1890s. When the historical actors are there it's a lot of fun for the kids. Free to the public too. Definitely worth 90 minutes or so!

Wonderful free resource for entertaining kids. The animals and buildings outside delight and it’s great to see the blacksmith in action. Don’t miss the indoor exhibitions either as they often have local artists, crafts from native Americans that are beautiful and insightful

This is the most amazing historic living farm/museum ever! Friendly and informative staff, special demonstrations/events almost daily. Friendly farm animals and a working forge as well as two historic houses from the 1890s and 1860s. Perfect for families and children.

A great little museum of Littleton and life on the pre-1900s Front Range. There are an 1860s and 1890s farms and a blacksmith's shop. There are new lambs (June) and piglets are due soon. The 1860 farm also has longhorn cattle and turkeys. Make sure to take advantage of the very friendly docents. Buildings are open when docents are available. The best time to visit is probably in the morning. The indoor portion has a children's corner where they can explore a 1900s kitchen play area and "set type" on an old newspaper page. Other kid-friendly, hands-on exhibits. Besides the main exhibit of Littleton history are two large rooms for rotating exhibits.
