First time doing any sort of hiking, and while pretty slippery, every spot was worth it

My husband and I just spent the day together at this spillway and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We hiked and waded through the creek and found secluded, intimate areas to fish, swim, and explore. Even though there were a good bit of people there, several other vehicles parked, we rarely ran into anyone else. Vibrant wildlife, as well. We definitely plan to make a family day of it next time and bring the kids!

Very scenic area but be careful on steep slopes to view the spillway stream.

Needs trash picked up and the ground around the picnic seating has eroded a good deal. But make no mistake, my family has fun scrambling around and exploring the area.

Nice area,plenty of parking in 3-4 different areas within 1/2mile. Clean most part did find some trashed near the steps picked it up . Really clean of majority of area that you can park and fish. can park and fish from bank, walkway, concrete steps Good. But spillway is very very difficult to fish from bank that was bummer but if would of had a boat would have caught some fish. Beautiful area to check out spillway and small creek

This is good place I go when I need some peace and quiet. Whenever I just need to sit and reflect. The only problem I have with this place has nothing to do with the location. It's the people that go there to drink and leave their trash everywhere. It's some of the most beautiful landscape but lazy ignorant people just can't clean up after themselves

I’ve lived in this area my whole life and love going to the spillway for fishing, relaxing or hiking. Lots to explore in Tuscaloosa!

So beautiful!!! Great place to go and relax or spend the day with family an kids!

Not very spectacular, but worth seeing.
