We always make sure to stop at Banh Appetit when we visit Portland. The lemongrass chicken and beef are seasoned to perfection, and the baguettes are fresh! We've tried many other spots for this delicacy, and none of them compare.

9/30/23 - Visiting from VA was looking for Pho. When we came to order they said it wasn't in season yet and was nice enough to recommend another spot. I did go ahead and get a milk tea which was super good. I also loved the decor of the place. They say no dine in but there is 2 small tables outside. Very friendly staff too.

This is probably the best place in Portland to go for a banh mi. Great experience! It looked like a to-go place. Lots of phone calls coming in for to-go orders. The person manning the front recommended the "Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi". Such a great decision. The bread was soft, and not soggy from the ingredients. Very friendly service as well. If I crave a banh mi again - this place will pop up in my head!

Delicious Vietnamese take out spot. The food was terrific and the drinks were also wonderful.

Bun toppings were good, with the meat and small egg rolls on top. However, the rest of the takeout box was completely COLD cooked rice noodles, in a big clump. Is it supposed to be served cold? Not very appetizing. Needed some sauce on the noodles. It was cold and plain pile of sauce-less noodles. In addition, the cold noodles were all stuck together like glue and like bad spaghetti. And because they were cold, the consistency was hard and very dry, especially around the edges. I threw half of them away. The small container of light sauce wasn't nearly enough for the huge pile of cold noodles. Yuck! Not very appetizing, at $17 for completely cold and hard, noodles! The sandwiches are much better!

Best banh mi i’ve had. I went yesterday after a hard day at work and was greeted by the most sincerely nicest person and she was patient while i chose my order. I had the veggie banh mi and then went back and got the dairy free thai tea and went to heaven. i look forward to the next time i stop by (ASAP!)

You're not going there for the atmosphere. It's a bare-bones experience as far as that goes. It's a take-out counter with no dining in. That said, this place has some of the best food I've ever had in my life. I visited my son for lunch break at his school last year and tried this place out and was blown away. The 2 times I've met him for lunch since then, I've gone back. It's consistently great. Everything. Right down to the little sauces that come with the food. Excellent. If I lived closer, I would hit them up on the regular.

Absolutely delicious!!!! Will absolutely be going back. The Viet Iced Coffee was probably the best ice coffee I’ve had! So yummy. Also got the Chicken Bánh Mi, which was so good and such a perfect size and price. Def check this place out!!
