Ordered bunny chow, curry and rice, pudding and a wrap. The owner (I assumed she’s aunty Meg 😂) is super friendly, give us recommendations as this is our first time having African food. The portion is huge, and the food taste really nice! Bunny chow is quite spicy and oily(in a good way), if you are not used to food that are too salty, you can always ask for more tap water. The pudding balanced out the palate, compare to curry and bunny chow, it is a rather mild and not overly sweet dessert 🍮. Would definitely recommend to order a pudding after the meal :)

A little cafe style restaurant with exotic decor, located in a quiet lane away from the crowd. Super friendly service that gives you a family feeling. Food is good with a few unique choices, cannot tell if is authentic, but definitely worth a try. Dish presentation needs some improvement. Coffee is just average. The only downside is the high price, as $25 for a lunch size dish is too expensive, and $7 for a large coffee (not very large) is too high to charge. Taste: 4/5. Value: 2/5. Service: 5/5. Modest little shop with aunty meg our cook. She's very nice and welcoming with friendly hospitality vibe. She gave us a free samosa to try while we were deciding what to order. The food and portion size is okay. There are mostly rice, bread and curry dishes on the menu.

What a great find!! Ordered a Lamb bunny chow and I literally got goosebumps when I started eating it. Reminded me of home (Durban). I haven't had a bunny chow this good since I moved to Australia 15 yrs ago 10/10!! A taste of Durban!

Blown away! Such a beautiful experience of South African food. The lovely ladies were so helpful with menu decisions and the food did not disappoint. Lovely street side seating as well, which my partner and I really enjoyed.

Today we visited Aunty Meg’s kitchen as we were told by our South African friend that it was the best place to go to for authentic South African food. After having heard so many good things we decided to go check it out and can I tell you we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and the service, well I felt like I have known Aunty Meg for years! If you feel like trying a new place and love good flavour then you must add this place to your list! Thanks Aunty Meg!

AMAZING FOOD and honestly it felt like we were sitting at home having dinner with friends and family, to have bunny chow and curry cooked by a Durbanite was so good was honestly a taste of home with a lovely warm hug. Aunty Meg and her staff are so welcoming and to end the meal with a Donpedro was heavenly. Thank you Aunty Meg your restaurant will definitely be a very regular on our list.

Meg catered for my wedding in November 2023. Every step of the process was easy and good, she helped me design the menu and all the other elements required. The food was amazing!!! The best I had.

Aunty Meg’s Kitchen was an absolutely wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Walking in and being greeted by the smells and brands of home brought tears to my eyes.
