Very nice view even though it's foggy. Cooling weather. There's cafe on the summit for you to enjoy your lunch or brunch there. Easy to get carpark space. It's nice if you go during sunset too.

An overwhelming peak at a whizzing height of almost 730 metres above Adelaide. Amazing views all round. Not many tourists about and clear views on a clear day. Lots of parking spaces. One of the top attractions around Adelaide.

Worth driving to the stunning sunset scenic, within minutes from Adelaide city. Kids would love playing around. Be mindful of the edges when carrying kids. Would not hurt to check the sunset timings to plan your visit. ✅Parking available - $4.05 ✅Suitable for family, friends & couples. 📷 Photographic views 🥤 No open cafe (dated 14/04/22)

One of the most popular hiking spots in Adelaide for a reason! I have done the Waterfall Gully to Mt Lofty Summit hike several times (almost every week in winter seasons) and have got to say the restoration works that were completed in 2020 have made the trail safer, “easier” and more comfortable to complete. Surrounded by the picturesque surrounds of nature, the 7.8km, 2hr return hike can be challenging for some, but rewarding for all. Stop and enjoy the views on the way up, soak in the peacefulness of nature and once you reach the top take in the views of Adelaide and enjoy a quick lunch at the Summit Cafe. Located less than a half hour drive from the CBD this destination should be on the list for both beginner and experienced hikers! (Parking can be hard to find on busy days)

Our visit to Mount Lofty Summit was met with cloudy weather, obscuring what I'm sure would be a stunning view on a clear day. While the conditions were less than ideal during our visit, we could sense the potential this spot holds, especially during the sunny summer days. The $5.20 parking fee for a quick lookout did feel a bit steep, but we understand that maintaining such scenic locations involves costs. Perhaps a more flexible pricing structure for shorter visits could be considered. Despite the weather hindrance, we appreciated the accessibility of the summit and the opportunity to witness the natural beauty that surrounds Mount Lofty. We'll keep this on our list for a return visit, fingers crossed for a clearer day next time!

If you want to see an aerial view of Adelaide, then you need to go to this place. Beautiful view, especially on a sunny day.

Definitely worth the drive from the city. We hired a car for the day to see a few sights. Mt Lofty has fabulous views over Adelaide and beyond. There is a nice few points of interest at this site too. Short and long walks available too on the well sign posted hiking trails. Cafe and gift shop on site. Parking was a flat rate of $4. Ticket paid at a metre and left in dashboard for verification.

This was the end point of my hike. Started from the Waterfall Gully Carpark to the summit of Mount Lofty. We took about 90 minutes to hike to the submit and about an hour to return. The hike is moderately difficult but there are benches for hikers to take a break. Mostly walking on gravel but there are certain parts which are rather steep, especially at the beginning and the last 1.5km nearing the summit. Look out for the amazing birds on the trail like kookaburra. The summit is amazing. As it was cloudy, we could hardly see the city and the sea. Lots of informative display along the way.

This is one of my favourite places in the Adelaide hills whether I go there by 🚴🏻 hiking or driving. It is so rewarding when you arrive here either by hiking or cycling. And if driving it’s a lovely spot to see good views of Adelaide. Often there are koalas 🐨 and kangaroos to be seen nearby. There is a cafe/restaurant as well as a large gift shop with range of souvenirs. Parking is a flat rate of $4.

A really lovely spot to get a view of the whole of Adelaide looking across to the Yorke Peninsula... and it's free! Well, except for the parking ;-) You really can see for miles and miles... or km's & km's for those born in modern times. You even get the occasional bit of native fauna pottering around the bush.

Amazing! Best views of Adelaide and the ocean. Plenty of parking and places to roam. Nice big gift shop and decent cafe that serves a modest but yummy menu. Staff are also very friendly.

Beautiful views, easy parking though one of the ticket machines wasn't working not hard to use another though. Plenty around. Cafe had delicious hot chocolate and coffee. Few beautiful walks around.

Amazing view, the hike can be a little steep and challenging at times but when you reach the summit its all worth it. I had a nice pie and smoothie at the summit cafe after which was also really nice. Wildlife is a little more scarce than other trails I've been on but we still saw a few kangaroos. With parking near the summit its really easy to drive down and spend the entire day here :)

Been to adelaide many times but never to mount lofty. Fantastic views and koalas in the trees but unfortunately my photo missed them. Highly recommended.

A good view over Adelaide. Especially when it's not blurred. You can do lovely hikes. Even to Wildlife Park Cleland .

  • 4/5 Lauren R. 8 months ago on Google
Great view of the city from the closest distance anyone would want to come to Adelaide to be honest. Lots of great walking trails through here ans a lovely old estate hotel around the corner if you feel like splashing out. Probably not walkable from Adelaide though.

Went up to Mount Lofty summit and have a great view of Adelaide City and it’s surroundings. Tip, car park cost AUD4.00. So if u wish to save that, ask someone leaving politely whether u could have their parking coupon. The coupon is valid for 12hrs.

The day I visited Mount Lofty, I was lucky that it was clear, as I had a good view of the city and surrounding areas. Ir was interesting to read and find out the history behind the area, and I would recommend that anyone take a trip up the mountain for the view.

mountlofty Fantastic views all around. Walk trails to waterfalls, we did not have time to do. Cafe facility & toilets

  • 5/5 Kryz B. 1 year ago on Google
Mount Lofty is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Adelaide. The stunning views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking and worth the hike up. The lookout at the summit of Mount Lofty provided a panoramic view of Adelaide and the surrounding areas. It was truly awe-inspiring and made for some amazing photo opportunities.

Great views from the top of Mount Lofty Summit. Easy access, minutes from car park (you have to pay for parking). There is a cafe (which we didn’t visit) and gift shop at the top. Incredible views over Adelaide. Numerous hikes you can do from Mount Lofty Summit, we planned to hike to Long Ridge Lookout, but ran out of time. We will be back to do this. Would be amazing at sunrise/sunset! Would also recommend a visit to the Botanical Gardens.

I liked the place. Top of the city. A little cafe and souvenir shop were there too. Nice place to spend time for couple of hours.

Average scenic spot with a decent view. Nothing much here. Easily accessible by car or bus. Make sure to pick a good day to visit. You won't see much when foggy or on a rainy day. Their gift shop have an extensive selection of items. Great place to shop for souvenirs.

A beautiful but steep hike from Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty! Trails are in great condition and are very easy to navigate. I saw a lot of wildlife as it was getting dark on my way back down, which I loved.

  • 4/5 Dave D. 2 years ago on Google
Spectacular views of course! The views are well worth the hike/ride/drive to the highest point in the Adelaide Hills. Having the signboards that point out various landmarks down on the plain is very handy too. The water bottle fill-up station is such a wonderfully fantastic idea! I really do which the toilets were open earlier in the morning. We were hoping they'd be open at 8am but they weren't unlocked till 9am.

Mount Lofty Summit was an amazing view despite the cloud cover today. Parking was $4 & a very short uphill walk to the look out. The tourist info centre had heaps to buy as souvenirs. There is also a place to eat if the walk in has made you hungry

  • 5/5 Neven A. 2 years ago on Google
This place is breathtaking!!! Beautiful views of Adelaide from the top. If your up for a hike, there are some really enjoyable trails accessible.

Most beautifull views, food and beverages up top. Very interesting hike up, if your brave..😓😁 lots of nice shade under trees at the waterfall too. Give it a go!

Nice views of Adelaide city. And good for sunset. Better after sunset with Adelaide on lights. The summit can be accessed by road from the South Eastern Freeway at Crafers, and from the eastern suburbs via Greenhill Road and the Mount Lofty Scenic Route. The more enthusiastic can walk up the gully from Waterfall Gully, through the Cleland Conservation Park and from Chambers Gully. The track from Waterfall Gully to the summit is a 4 km uphill trek and one of Adelaide's most popular exercise circuits so the carpark at the bottom is often busy. The summit provides panoramic views across Adelaide, and a cafe-restaurant and gift shop. These are relatively new due to protracted disputes over appropriate development following the destruction of the old cafe in the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires. Kangaroos are often spotted on the trails leading up to the summit cafe.

There are nice views towards the sea but Piccadilly Valley is barely visible. There are short walks around the summit.

  • 4/5 Nick B. 1 year ago on Google
Nice view from the top. I ended up sending a drone off the top to see what the place looked like. Nice cafe too. Drinks are pretty expensive though at $5 for a 600ml bottle.

Great place for day trip and a short walk with a place to buy souvenir for your loved ones. You can also plan for a picnic if you want to spend a day relaxing. If you get lucky you can also see native animals like we did.

  • 4/5 Justan K. 2 years ago on Google
A fantastic view of Adelaide and surrounds. A cafe & souvenir shop are also at the peak. Unless your having coffee, 20 minutes should be sufficient time. Parking is by ticket, flat rate of $4.

  • 3/5 Asara S. 2 years ago on Google
There’s no Cafe open at the place even though it says it is open. Crowded in the evening because people come to watch the sun set. This place gives a great view of the Adelaide city. You can even see the planes landing and taking-off from the air port at the far near the sea. There’s ample enough parking too. It’s very cold at the top during the evening. The city looks beautiful in the night with the lights switched on.

One of the best activities I did in Adelaide. The trek difficulty is hard, with steep slopes, but is worth the sweat and pain. We started around 6.30 am from the falls and walked to the Mt Lofty Summit. The top of the mountains has amazing views and the feeling of conquering the mountain is amazing. If you love treks you must do this one.

  • 4/5 Hadleigh W. 2 years ago on Google
Brilliant views when the sun is setting but unfortunately when I went it was a little hazy over the city but the sunset was still pretty good. The best time to go and see the sunset is 8.30pm.

Great spot for scenic views of the city and coastal plains. Nice café also.

  • 5/5 Yoyo M. 1 year ago on Google
Nice panoramic view of Adelaide from here. Worth taking some pictures but nothing much with only a souvenir shop and a restaurant. Nice food from the restaurant and great view sitting by the floor to ceiling windows. Relaxing lunch with friends would be good.
