I
very
rarely
review
places
however
I
feel
this
one
is
long
overdue.
After
more
than
a
decade
of
doing
very
little
in
terms
of
exercise
and
fitness,
combined
with
a
job
that
requires
long
hours
of
sitting,
I
knew
it
was
time
to
get
off
my
backside
so-to-speak
and
give
something
a
go.
I
had
developed
a
keen
interest
in
muay
thai
from
watching
numerous
videos
in
the
couple
of
years
leading
up
to
actually
trying
it
myself
and
so
the
next
step
was
to
ignore
the
nerves
and
find
a
place
that
I
felt
comfortable
and
enjoyed
training
at.
Despite
not
being
the
closest
gym
to
me,
I
decided
to
give
Southside
Muay
Thai
a
go
from
reading
positive
reviews
and
gee,
am
I
glad
that
I
did.
I
had
never
been
a
gym
member
of
any
sort
before,
so
like
many
say,
it
was
a
little
daunting
walking
into
the
gym
for
my
first
time
at
my
trial
lesson.
I
had
no
idea
what
to
expect.
I’m
not
sure
what
I
was
worried
about
though!
The
coaches
politely
introduced
themselves
and
current
students
who
had
clearly
been
training
there
for
some
time
helped
me
out
with
all
the
basics
and
made
me
feel
very
welcome.
Fast
forward
and
I’m
now
in
my
5th
year
of
training
here
and
that
friendly,
welcoming,
no
ego
culture
is
what
Southside
is
all
about.
The
trainers
are
great,
and
whether
you’ve
got
absolutely
zero
experience
with
Muay
Thai
or
many
years,
the
classes
are
such
that
you’ll
be
catered
for.
The
gym
has
multiple
classes
a
day
for
6
days
a
week,
so
for
shift
workers
like
myself
it’s
still
easy
enough
to
get
to
my
2-3
classes
a
week
that
I
like
to
do.
I
have
also
had
a
great
time
training
alongside
my
kids
who
have
attended
their
kids
classes
at
the
same
time
I
can
train,
which
is
very
handy.
My
8
year
old
loves
his
classes
and
his
trainer.
The
staff
at
Southside
have
also
been
incredibly
accommodating
to
me
during
the
last
couple
of
years
with
the
impact
of
the
coronavirus
which
I
am
very
grateful
for.
Lastly,
I
think
Southside
truly
caters
to
everyone,
regardless
of
age,
gender,
fitness
level
etc.
Many
may
think
that
joining
a
muay
thai
gym
means
that
you
have
to
fight
or
spar.
I
would
say
a
large
number
of
the
members
at
Southside
however
are
there
for
primarily
the
fitness
side
of
things.
Muay
thai
training
has
to
be
one
of
the
best
cardio
workouts
out
there
in
my
opinion!
Conversely,
if
you
are
looking
at
a
bit
of
contact
and
sparring
etc,
Southside
has
some
of
the
best
boxers
and
muay
thai
athletes
to
learn
from,
you
just
have
to
look
at
their
results
when
they
compete
to
see
that.
If
you
had
have
told
me
5
years
ago
that
I
would
be
training
at
a
muay
thai
gym
and
even
had
a
crack
at
entering
one
of
their
friendly
in
house
sparring
days,
I
wouldn’t
have
believed
you
but
the
gym
has
made
all
of
that
possible
for
me.
Give
it
a
go!
