👍👍 Strudel and stroll walking tour was very enjoyable. We got to make our own strudels at the start and went on an easy walk around Hahndorf village learning it's colourful history then came back to a warm, cooked strudel! Highly recommend if you are visiting Hahndorf and the Adelaide Hills. Great hist... People often mention tour, Hahndorf, Sharon, history, walking, great, guide, Highly, town, recommend,

I’ve been to the town a number of times but have a renewed appreciation for the pioneering spirit of the people that came before to build this town of hope and prosperity. Our tour guide, Amanda was fun and knowledgeable about the town. Was cool to learn about her connection to the history! Highly recommend this tour for anyone with a fascination of history and how the town came alive. There is a real level of grit and determination from the men and women that gave us what we can appreciate and enjoy in Hanhdorf today. Thank you for this tour that generations can preserve in time 🙏

Our family did the Hahndorf After Dark Walking Tour as part of the Great State Experiences voucher which teamed the walking tour up with a German food experience beforehand at the German Spoon. Sharon (a local) was an incredibly well versed guide with riveting stories, such that we were reluctant for many of them to end. The tour was an hour and a half but I could easily have spent a few extra hours listening to her stories about the history and founders of Hahndorf. We have been to Hahndorf many times to take walks and eat the food but the tour taught us that there’s so much more to do there with many free activities and community events available. We will definitely be back to do those suggested activities. The history of Hahndorf is truly worth discovering.

Informative and enjoyable stroll. Sharon shared some interesting history on the arrival of the first settlers in Hahndorf in a fun and entertaining way. Our strudel experience and lunch at the Hahndorf Inn was lots of fun and delicious!

My husband and I went in a tour this morning and really enjoyed it. We learned a lot about Hahndorf that we had no idea about. Sharon was friendly, energetic and engaging. If you're interested in Adelaide history, definitely have a look.

Be careful of your dates before you book. Out of excitement I accidentally booked the wrong date for a tour for my mother and I. My first trip to South Australia, and our first trip to Hahndorf. I emailed the company within 10 minutes of the booking, requesting the correct date. I found out the correct date was booked out, and the next available option was after I had left SA, so I requested a refund. There is a 20% cancellation policy, which normally I wouldn't complain about. However my mistake would not have cost the booking of another couple for the day in question and would not have caused a loss of money to the business. I was charged the full 20% cancellation fee. If this was my business, I would have completed a full refund out of good faith (and in my line of work, we are often faced with mistakes of customers orders that we wave such fees with good faith). I emailed a response saying I was disappointed due to my quick emailing with the issue, and the response was "I never like it when I have to pay a cancellation fee either." Not a professional response. I will not be booking with this company again.

Always loved Hahndorf and this walking tour adds to the wonder! Sharon gives you a wonderful insight into the history of settlement and interactions with the indigenous people. The story of the settler women that walked to the Plains of Adelaide is amazing. Suitablely paid tribute to by a yearly rediscovery walk. You'll discover things that were, quite literally, underneath your noses but never even noticed. However, the these small treasures are easily accessed and provide yet another reason to visit again. The tour we did covered just the Eastern end. There are others which all sound just as intriguing and we are keen to do more! Highly recommended Cheers, Q.

Our group of 4 knew there just had to be more to this beautiful town than the Main Street so we booked a Walking Tour with Sharon and we were so glad we did. Sharon shared so much history and many fabulous stories with great passion. We laughed, learnt then ate. Bonus with many discounts she gave us too. Would have loved to have gone on the night walk as a follow up but ran out of time.

A fantastic walk, we enjoyed it so much and will definately be back soon to do another. Lorraine was so knowledgeable and happy to share stories with us. It was a great opportunity to learn about the founding families of the township of Hahndorf. If you have read Hannah Kent's Devotion, this is a must!!!!

Sharon was wonderful. She was able to accommodate our kids and manage/redirect their ceaseless interruptive questions and it really made our stay in Hahndorf so much more interesting and appreciative of Hahndorfs past. Thanks Sharon 😊.

Amazing night on the Hahndorf After Dark Walking Tour 🔦 Dinner at Haus was lovely, no photos but everyone enjoyed their selection from the menu 🍽️ Our tour guide was a descendant of one of the founding families of Hahndorf, her personal connection to the history of this beautiful town adding so much depth to the experience. We learnt about the architectural history of the town, personal stories of the descendants through reenactments and gained an empathetic view of the struggles of those who made the choice to move so far away from their home country of Prussia. We also heard a little bit about Hahndorf's first nations people, the Peramangk people, who called Hahndorf: Bukartilla. I have certainly gained a new appreciation of the place and I can't wait to go back during the day and see it with a new perspective. Sharon, who typically runs the tours was very helpful with me organising this group event for the community centre I volunteer for. It was an amazing night and I can't wait to do another walking tour through you soon!

10/10 and a must-do while in Hahndorf! Secret laneways, settlers stories, twists and turns at every corner. A highlight was the special night presentation inside the Church we got married. As 'locals' we learnt so much during this experience, and unearthed treasures in the mainstreet we never knew existed. Sharon is oh so knowledgeable, and her tour was well considered and interactive! Highly recommended!

Our after-dark walking tour in Hahndorf with Sharon was an enlightening experience. Sharon's knowledge about how the village came into existence was truly impressive. Her insights into the history of the colony, and the reasons behind their journey to this far-off land, made the tour both educational and captivating. Sharon surprised us with a nifty travel projector, adding a unique and visual dimension to the experience. Sharon's passion for the roots of Hahndorf shone through, and her enthusiasm was contagious. She was a pleasure to be around, and I couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable and engaging guide. I recommend taking a tour with Sharon to explore the rich history of Hahndorf.

Sharon was an absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable guide. She gave us lots of information and history about Hahndorf both from the history of the town all the way to the current day. I had a great time on the tour, so much so that I'm taking my parents over for a holiday and doing the strudel making tour this time. Thank you very much Sharon!

Sharon gave us an entertaining and informative tour of Hahndorf. In an easy walking tour we learnt about what drove people to leave their homes and cross the ocean to South Australia, and all that it took to build their new lives in the hills above Adelaide. With access to areas that are closed to the general public we got an appreciation of Hahndorf that extended well beyond its beautifully preserved colonial buildings. Highly recommend spending some time with Hahndorf Walking Tours.

I booked the 'Strudel and Stroll' on the Friday before Christmas. The guide, Sharon, is helpful and informative about the local history. Being able to make your own Strudel was a nice novelty, and my family enjoyed sharing it afterwards when I took it as takeaway.

My family thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour. Sharon was so knowledgeable about Hahndorf and shared a lot of interesting stories. We even got to feed Jimmy the pony! Luckily it stopped raining for the 1.5 hours we had so the carrying our 10-month-old around wasn't stressful.

We really enjoyed the walking tour and streudel making. Sharon had so much in depth knowledge and we got to see places you can't normally see. An easy walk and a very pleasant couple of hours. Highly recommended.

Wonderful walking tour of Hahndorf, with Lorraine giving some insights into the history and hardships of the founding people of the area. Terrific strudel making class as well and it tasted yummy too. Thoroughly recommend this tour if you’re in Hahndorf.

We booked the Hahndorf after dark tour, very last minute on the day of the tour. This was not an issue for Sharon who turned up and essentially provided us a private tour as it was only my partner and I. Sharon was fun, personable and very knowledgeable of the Hahndorf history. It was great getting this history and then walking around the next day looking at town and understanding that.

This is locals promoting their history and educating tourists at it very best. We did additional strudel making option and it was a tasty and interesting addition. Highly recommend the walking tour.

My husband and I went on a night time walking tour with our Great State Experience voucher. We visit Hahndorf every year for our wedding annviersary but never had the chance to do a tour so this was a really great opportunity. There is so much to learn about Handorf and being able to experience it by night was truly exquisite. Sharon was a great guide and had plenty of stories to tell. We hope to book another tour during the day when we're in Hahndorf next.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We both experienced the 11am session and finished right before lunch. Sharon explained in-depth the history and events leading up to the migration of Hahndorf's Germanic ancestors. And while providing little interesting historic tidbits, Sharon answered all of our questions. Overall it was excellent delivery and easy to understand. Then the number of attendees was small, which was good and the walk wasn't extremely long either. Would absolutely consider partaking in more Hahndorf Walking Tours in future, brilliant work, Sharon!
