Aston Hills Golf Club

Golf club

👍👍 UPDATE: 13/1/23 Nothing has changed since we last played the course about 12 months ago. The course was presented in excellent condition. The greens, fairways and bunkers were all manicured. A great course to play in summer. Reminder that it does have excellent drainage and is still okay to play dur... People often mention excellent, golf, Hills, play, great, greens, Aston, Great,

I have found the Aston Hills Golf Club to be extremely friendly and accommodating. The facilities available to its members are really good. The course itself is both a challenge and a joy to play.

Aston Hills Golf Course is on Bald Hills Rd at the eastern margins of Mt Barker. The extensive clubhouse allows dining or relaxing after a round of golf near the bar. The clubhouse has a pro shop and allows panoramic views of the course. This is a popular course during the week and more so on weekends. Itis a chance to meet a number of interesting people.

UPDATE: 13/1/23 Nothing has changed since we last played the course about 12 months ago. The course was presented in excellent condition. The greens, fairways and bunkers were all manicured. A great course to play in summer. Reminder that it does have excellent drainage and is still okay to play during winter. UPDATE: 4/2/22 Aston Hills Golf Course is a short 20 minute drive up the SE freeway from the Glen Osmond tollgate and located in a very peaceful gumtree setting. We played the course about 9 months ago...... a lot has changed!!! Our playing group agreed that after playing the course for over 15 years it was presented in the best condition ever!! Fairways were manicured with a full coverage of couch grass…… we had excellent roll with the ball sitting up beautifully after every shot. The undulating greens have significantly improved …… full coverage of grass with excellent roll. The bunkers were all well maintained. The course has a great layout with the majority of holes requiring you to drive your ball into a position that gives you a full second shot. We had an excellent conversation with Acacia in the Proshop. She was very welcoming and added to our wonderful day out. We look forward to our next round. Be sure to add Aston Hills to your bucket list of golf courses to play in South Australia. Please read my previous reviews. UPDATE: 9/4/21 For a “hills” course it can be best described as undulating but not having any steep rises making for an easy walk. We play this course a couple times a year. As usual, the course was in excellent condition. Probably the best we have played on it. The ball sat up beautifully on the couch fairways enabling excellent roll....... placement of your drive is all important. The greens have subtle undulations and had great pace...... they had just been rolled. The strategically placed bunkers and water hazards added to our challenges! We had a great day out. We look forward to our next visit. UPDATE: 8/5/20 This was our second round of golf in 2020 but my first update. We’ve just come off some very wet days. The course was in outstanding condition……….Drainage is excellent. The greens were particularly good because they had just rolled them as we were playing. The fairways were beautifully cut with the ball sitting up. There was excellent roll. Aston Hills is the best course to play in the Adelaide Hills area during the wetter months of the year. Ben was again very welcoming in the pro shop. We had a great day out.

Course conditioning as of late is the best I’ve ever seen it. Beautiful fairways and greens. Twilight green fees are excellent value. Thoroughly recommended.

Great golf course, well maintained. Its challenging and forgiving at times. Great green fees and buggy deals. I seem to always play well there for whatever reason. Last game was for free with their 5 round for free card. Do yourself and your hadicap a favour and head on over there

Any business that is still thriving with what we are going through with COVID-19 deserves a medal. This is a long standing club that has evolved through many changes and is still going strong. It is a beautiful course, well maintained and so picturesque. Every new day throws up a new challenge, but the Aston Hills team are evolving to all new challenges and owning them... Times are a challenge, but golf is a welcomed outlet. Thanks to all staff for their commitment.

Great course. The greens had just been cored, and sanded. But did not detract from our game.

Yes this is a well kept and organised place to play golf but BEWARE of the hidden costs here... they include a DISABILITY SURCHARGE for those who bring their own motorised carts of $10, make sure you bring you own clubs as club hire is $30 a round and if you like a beer, make sure you get one whilst on the course, as, magically, after your round of golf the price increases from $5 a stubbie to $8 a stubbie. Apart from these gripes it really is a beauty. The pro shop sells balls pretty cheaply as well
