Love this place. The food is exceptional. The staff are awesome. The drinks are always good (and varied if you drink ales). We liked it so much, we got married here and have just celebrated our first wedding anniversary here too 😀

I hadn't really been to the embankment a lot before. A couple of drinks in the dispensary. However this time went for main part. The food was pretty good for a pub, the classics with some extra options. Pretty tasty when you just want some point grub. It's a castle rock pub so the beers were a really good selection. They have live entertainment at weekends plenty of room away from that if you don't fancy it and a giant beer garden.

This Castle Rock pub is great. Lots of space and lots of outdoor space some of which is covered for rainy days or shade for sunny days. We went with friends for a Sunday roast. Food took quite a while to come but when it did we totally forgot about that. It was amazing and huge! Good value for money. There were so many different veggies, roast carrots and potatoes, mash, green beans, broccoli, red cabbage and then a huge piece of stuffing, Yorkie and the meat. And one of us had the veggie option which looked good. My husband made the comment that he’d have liked it on a bigger plate but then we decided that we actually liked it all piled up as you kept getting surprises as you went down through it and the food stayed hotter. The beers at this pub are brilliant. They have a huge range of craft beers, real ales and more. We sat in the conservatory to eat then moved outside for a final drink in very slightly cooler air. The staff were friendly.

A very good Sunday Lunch. The pub is part of the Castle Rock group so the food is usually good. The portions and quality of food is on average a little better here than some others from the same brewery. The beef was tender and not too fatty. The roast potatoes were excellent. Another dish purchased was the Brie Wellington which was good. I'm not a parsnip fan but the shaved parsnips were actually rather nice. The only reason why I have given this 4 stars is because the outside could have been a little cleaner as there were a number of cigarette ends strewn around the beer garden.

Have only been here on match days, but the beer is fabulous. Brilliant atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff and door men. A lovely place to have a drink. Haven't tried the food yet, but I expect it is very good.

Nice historic pub ( it used to be the old Boots pharmacy social club) serving about 12 real ales and ciders and plenty of others on tap. Friendly staff. Serves food. Allows stop overs but be sure to ring ahead. There’s a computer system to input your vehicle details. Do this on arrival or risk being fined! It’s about a 15 minute stroll into town. Recommended. 🍻 🍎 🍏 🥘 🚐

I booked the conservatory for a small family gathering and it was just perfect. Really cosy with strings of twinkly fairy lights, and super warm despite it being January! The buffet food was lovely and we really enjoyed having the space to ourselves but also having easy access to the bar and the excellent choice of beer. Thanks to all of the staff who were so hospitable and helpful.

My favourite Sunday dinner in Nottingham! As well as the rest of the menu being lovely. Amazing atmosphere, dog friendly and nice beer garden. Couldn’t recommend more, the staff are so lovely and really helpful. What more could you want. 10/10!

This was once the boots social club but now is a lovely restored friendly pub. It has a photo of the original boots dispensary on the wall. A good beer garden and conservatory, as well as plenty of room inside. It gets very busy on match days!! Run by Castle rock brewery which has all the usual range of real ales you would expect. A reasonable range of food too. Will definitely come back again on quieter days.

I am bound to be bias as my wife and I had our wedding here which was obviously the 2nd best day in both our lives (so far) However we have always had great service the regular food is awesome and one of the many reasons we love going. This also benefits from being like all the other Castle Rocks in Nottingham in that it serves a large variety of different draught. It is stupidly busy on Forest match days but don't let the que for the bar put you off the staff know exactly what they are doing and you can been seen too in a matter of minutes. The great outdoor seating means the pub is perfect no matter the season. The building is also an old Boots Pharamacy (hence the decor) so if you haven't been go I've attached some photos of the wedding day incase any of you are looking at this review are considering it as a location for your function.

Lovely building. Like a pub and registry office all in one. Great for small weddings, as it has almost everything... car park, history, small area for photos outside. However, was a little let down on the food. Sour dough toast, which was like a rock. And brocoli that was crunchy.... to the point of being almost fresh. Staff were very casual too. Nice staff mind... nothing wrong with them, just not smart. Not quite wedding....

This is a pretty nice looking venue. The servers are polite. Plenty of beer and spirits served. Pets are welcome and there are rooms for large parties, if needed. I ordered the Sunday roast and it tasted fantastic! Beef, mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, cabbage, green beans, roasted carrots and Yorkshire pudding. You WILL be full!

Nothing really wrong with the place just need the bar management to be different on Match days. Waiting 35mins to get served is not really good enough. Just a bit of advice from another bar owner maybe have a bottle only section, and only have one lager one cider on and a member of staff just keeps pouring lager not serving. It will speed service up loads. Like I said still a great bar

Went in for a pint after cricket so arrived later in the evening. Very quiet when we arrived and managed to get a table but a couple of beers were out (it was later in the day) and not coming back on. Filled up really quickly with cricket fans and had a good atmosphere. Staff served everyone quickly but still a small queue at the bar because of number of people. Really nice outside area and seating. Good beers and worth visiting but if you don't like crowds avoid times around football/cricket.

Great selection of cask beers on tap. Helpful friendly staff at the bar. Beers are good value. Historic building with charming character. Great function room upstairs. Just a really friendly and welcoming pub.

This pub is in a formerr Boots Pharmacy and is an historic building. It has an interesting and varied menu and the staff are very helpful. I have taken my walking group here several times as the Embankment pub is just yards away from the River Trent where some excellent waterside walks can be enjoyed. Ask the staff if you can see the upstairs rooms which are amazing and used for weddings. A very interesting venue.

Lovely building, with an option to sit in the bar or lounge area. When we visited there was a party upstairs which was loud (not the end of the world though as it was a Saturday night!) but not the usual range of beers available

Would give five stars, it's a lovely characterful place, however have arranged to meet a friend here Sunday evening only to discover it's closing at eight🤔 I get that it's quiet, but there's an expectation that a pub will be open a little later. Staff are nice I will return. Parking bays for bikes, which I could put my small motorcycle in.👍

Best Sunday roast I’ve had in ages, portion was massive and all of it was delicious, the slice of stuffing was especially tasty, would highly recommend

We booked two tables of 6 for a meal after training. We actually had more people at training than we expected and turned up with 17 people, but the staff were extremely accommodating despite also hosting a wedding party. We were given the whole conservatory to ourselves, which was especially kind as Forest were playing and the pub was about to get very busy. Our waitress, El, was excellent. She made sure to take our food order so that we would get it before they got too busy. We didn't wait long for food at all considering they had the wedding party as well. The food was also absolutely excellent, with plenty of vegan options. 10/10, absolutely recommend.

I had the pleasure and honour to photograph a wedding at the embankment today and it was fantastic! The upstairs wedding facilities are beautiful and very elegant. The team are excellent at organising everything so that your wedding day runs smoothly and professionally. Everything was timed perfectly and the wedding was a huge success. Thoroughly recommend The Embankment for any couples looking for a well planned wedding with delicious menus, great service and plenty of options for your special day.

Pub just on the river Trent, so well named. Lovely historic place with great character. Like most pubs, it has a wide selection of alcoholic liquids, most of which are lovely. Staff great. Does food if that's your thing.

Service was a little slow and had to check where our food order had got to. On arrival it wasn't entirely hot....but it was excellent quality. The staff were also pleasant. Would have been 5 stars if we hadn't waited so long and the food was hot but would definitely go again.

This is such a great pub! The history of the building is nicely represented and the staff are friendly. The beer choice is very good indeed and the food is incredible. Check out the Sunday roast and you won't be disappointed, I assure you! The staff are really good at taking into account dietary requirements such as vegan or gluten free. Highly recommended.

The Embankment is a spectacularly beautiful, very large pub to the south of Nottingham centre, between the station and the Trent Bridge cricket stadium. A good place for cask ale lovers, and a great venue for hanging out for a couple of hours. Friendly staff, wonderful, extensive outside seating area, and not too loud. What's not to like?
