What seems like a lovely pub is tarnished by awful bar staff and a worrying lack of animal welfare. My partner and I came here on the evening of 30/01/2022 with our 3 month old puppy. A bartender wearing a black and yellow checked shirt and backwards black cap attempted to overcharge us not once, but twice! What is listed on the website as a £14.60 bottle of white wine was charged to us as £26.40! We were obviously new customers to this pub and this specific bartender seemed to attempt to take advantage of that on two separate occasions. Even once we received a partial refund from the manager for the wine, the first bartender attempted to overcharged us for glasses of the same wine again. However, we suspected he may do as such and had the online menu ready to show him and he very quickly corrected his 'error'. The only mumbled explanation we were given was the website team were late in updating the website. I find it very hard to believe a bottle of wine goes up nearly £12 in the time it takes for a website to be updated. We were keeping our puppy away from the owner's dogs in the pub as she had only had her first set of vaccinations and so cannot interact with unfamiliar dogs. It was lucky that we did because only late into the evening did ANOTHER CUSTOMER tell us that both of the dogs had a contagious infection. All of the staff had failed to tell us this, but confirmed it when we asked them. As a young puppy any sort of infection can be very dangerous. This shows a complete disregard for the welfare of the customers' dogs, especially considering being dog friendly is one of their biggest selling points. If you don't want to be constantly checking how much you'll be charged for your drinks at a not-so-dog-friendly pub, avoid.

Excellent! Brilliant Landlord who clearly loves what he does and is a credit to the business. The range of beer on offer is outstanding and will keep people coming back time and time again, me included. One of the best pubs in the city for craft beer.

Pretty nice pub, decent vibes but had live music during midweek so was quite loud when I just wanted a quiet pint. Depends what you're after I guess. I've heard this one is the good one in Nottingham, maybe avoid the one by Victoria Centre

Nice to see a friendly bar man and the dog! Nice decor. Good music playing. Would be nice to see it on a busier night (we went in on a thursday afternoon) Good selection on beers and other drinks cant wait to see what Victoria Six Barrel looks like soon.

Lunchtime, looking for a decent coffee but all the usual haunts are ridiculously busy. Stumbled across this place with the 200 Degrees logo outside - always a sign of quality coffee. Nice venue, friendly service and REALLY great coffee at a reasonable price.

This review is for the Six Barrels in Hockley (Google has the wrong photos for this one, there's another Six Barrels on Mansfield road). There's a load of craft beer cans from around the world here if that's your thing. On draft is always a good selection of ales, but often inconsistent (you may come back for a great beer you've had here before, only to find it's gone!). Great bar staff. It's a bit of a 'spit and sawdust' pub, which is quite refreshing for the area. DOGS WELCOME, which is great for a pint with your pooch, but it can get quite noisy in the evening, so not ideal for your dogs ears, or for nervous dogs. Can get busy, but a good spot to meet for beers. 👍

I've not eaten here hence why I haven't tested it but every time I have been for a drink , the staff have been good at there jobs and no issues. There's always a good atmosphere as well. Like it and it's definitely worth a visit.

Reasonably priced drinks and friendly staff but we did have to leave because it was much too warm inside! Dog friendly though which is a bonus!

Bouncer thought I was on drugs which kind of took away from the vibe but they quickly realized I wasn't so professionalism was good. Decent place.

Good range of quality beers on tap and a cosy pub with friendly staff and clientele. Somewhere to go if you want a good pint surrounded by others appreciating the flavour more than the alcohol.

Always a great time in the Barrels - mega dog friendly and a great selection of ales! Would prefer the craft ales to change a little more regularly but that's personal preference & I've never had a bad pint & the beers on offer have sometimes allowed me to drink beer styles I now love that I might not have tried otherwise!

Excellent staff who are friendly and well trained. The beer is amazing and it's very spacious with lots of nooks and crannies, even a terrazio roof garden for summer days and balmy evenings. Well served for bus routes and scheduled on street parking. Ideal for a welcome rest after doing your shopping or even taking advantage of the entertainment program. Including quiz and open mic. Just a word of caution:... If you arrange to meet someone, be careful you specify WHICH six barrels Nottingham you will be because there are two on opposite sides of the town. Both are incredible pubs but your "Tinder date" will think they've been stood up if you get it wrong. (It's happened) it's six barrels Victoria (this one) Or six barrels Hockley (not this one). All said, a great franchise.

I really like this place, I thoroughly enjoy trying the different ciders. Also, the open mic on Tuesday is always entertaining with a great atmosphere.

Not the best pub for craft even they are a verified venue at untappd. If you are coming with a dog it's a nice place if you are allergic maybe search for another place.

Our favourite place in Nottingham, with or without the hounds! A great range of beer and cider with guest ales changing all the time. No food but there are plenty of places nearby.

This pub always provides great service. Offers a wide range of drinks in draft as well as craft ales and ciders. Staff super friendly. Love how dog friendly the pub is too and it’s nice to have such a wholesome atmosphere overall.

Open mic night on a Tuesday brought me here. Nicely laid out for music. Great beer and really nice staff and clientele. I keep going back. The guy running it does it very well, very talented and helpful to the new people turning up for open mic.

Lovely small bar, dog and people friendly with lots of board games if you fancy it. Nice welcoming environment for a city centre pub.

Stopped off here for a few steady pints ahead of Stoke vs Forest. We'd looked it up online beforehand and were glad we did! Great selection of beers and knowledgeable staff too. Even though it's a city centre pub it didn't get full of your standard football types (probably because it doesn't serve Stella or Carling 😂) and so it wasn't a mad crush to get served and the atmosphere was nice and chilled, aided and abetted by the soundtrack of 90s west coast hip-hop (a couple of Beavertowns and The Pharcyde? What's not to like!). Only slight criticism was that it says it opens at 12 noon but we were waiting outside for a good 15 minutes before they opened the doors. The variety of excellent, friendly dogs that appear to live in the pub soon made up for that however 👍

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
