What
seems
like
a
lovely
pub
is
tarnished
by
awful
bar
staff
and
a
worrying
lack
of
animal
welfare.
My
partner
and
I
came
here
on
the
evening
of
30/01/2022
with
our
3
month
old
puppy.
A
bartender
wearing
a
black
and
yellow
checked
shirt
and
backwards
black
cap
attempted
to
overcharge
us
not
once,
but
twice!
What
is
listed
on
the
website
as
a
£14.60
bottle
of
white
wine
was
charged
to
us
as
£26.40!
We
were
obviously
new
customers
to
this
pub
and
this
specific
bartender
seemed
to
attempt
to
take
advantage
of
that
on
two
separate
occasions.
Even
once
we
received
a
partial
refund
from
the
manager
for
the
wine,
the
first
bartender
attempted
to
overcharged
us
for
glasses
of
the
same
wine
again.
However,
we
suspected
he
may
do
as
such
and
had
the
online
menu
ready
to
show
him
and
he
very
quickly
corrected
his
'error'.
The
only
mumbled
explanation
we
were
given
was
the
website
team
were
late
in
updating
the
website.
I
find
it
very
hard
to
believe
a
bottle
of
wine
goes
up
nearly
£12
in
the
time
it
takes
for
a
website
to
be
updated.
We
were
keeping
our
puppy
away
from
the
owner's
dogs
in
the
pub
as
she
had
only
had
her
first
set
of
vaccinations
and
so
cannot
interact
with
unfamiliar
dogs.
It
was
lucky
that
we
did
because
only
late
into
the
evening
did
ANOTHER
CUSTOMER
tell
us
that
both
of
the
dogs
had
a
contagious
infection.
All
of
the
staff
had
failed
to
tell
us
this,
but
confirmed
it
when
we
asked
them.
As
a
young
puppy
any
sort
of
infection
can
be
very
dangerous.
This
shows
a
complete
disregard
for
the
welfare
of
the
customers'
dogs,
especially
considering
being
dog
friendly
is
one
of
their
biggest
selling
points.
If
you
don't
want
to
be
constantly
checking
how
much
you'll
be
charged
for
your
drinks
at
a
not-so-dog-friendly
pub,
avoid.
