It's a very popular Wetherspoons. Visited on a very hot day. They had a bit of Air Con.

As far as spoons go, this is one of the better ones we've been to. Friendly staff, quick service, unbeatable food prices and consistent good quality too. Never have any problems or complaints about anything here. Patrons on the whole seem to be decent folk, no beer boys. Good place to fill your belly and at a low price.

Good food and drinks. Modern pub with good atmosphere. Good value drinks and food. It is a Wetherspoons so you know exactly what to expect. Has clean toilets. Some outdoor seating at front of the building for seating outside in good weather. Limited street parking nearby but free for 2 hours. Does not have a car park for the venue. Visited recently and still good value for food and drink.

Went here last night (December 16th) with family following a Christmas meal to have some drinks. We’d been there for around 1.5-2 hours. My cousin accidentally picked up someone else’s drink from the bar mistakenly thinking it was hers. The manager then comes over to our table to say we need to leave and accuses my cousin of trying to steal drinks. We offered to pay for the drink and apologised (as it was an honest mistake) but he was extremely rude and then got security to walk us out which was very embarrassing. We aren’t rowdy people, we were there with our parents and it completely ruined the night for us all. The situation was handled extremely poorly by the manager, there was no empathy and no attempt to reach a resolution. He immediately decided we were thieves and made us leave. He even tried to tell my cousin to leave on her own (bearing in mind she doesn’t live local and travelled a long time with her mum to be there for the occasion). Will definitely not be going back and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Next year when we have our annual Christmas meal on Mapperley top we’ll be going elsewhere for drinks.

Non dining, but clean and tidy, bright and modern. One of the better JDW.

Went for breakfast the veggie breakfast was alright as always and staff friendly enough and the place clean and tidy but the lighting in there is always so dim and dark it's off putting or we would go more often. My Autistic son won't go in at all he point blank refuses because of how dark it is in there. Could really do with investing in some brighter lighting because it's always moody atmospheric twilight but without the decor to match the boudoir lighting levels.

Went for breakfast. Food arrived quickly. Food wasn’t overly hot. But that seems to be the norm in all Wetherspoons. Overall a decent breakfast. Was quite a few tables with empty plates that needed clearing. All in all it was a pleasant experience

The food is average in the extreme, but you get what you pay for, and it is possible to have a meal and a drink at a very affordable price (which is getting increasingly rare these days). The service was speedy. So, why only one star for the service? Because the table was dirty. We sat at an empty table, it had been cleared of dirty plates and glasses, but the table was covered in wet wine stains and bits of food and a used napkin. No effort was made to clean it, and when the drinks and later the food were served, the glasses and the plates were put down on the dirty table. Rather disgusting really.

Not bad for a Spoons pub. Slow service, thanks to Tim Martin for overworking and underdtaffing, which makes the beer & food so cheap! But the ale is good and the staff & punters are patient. You'll get a better experience next door, but you'll pay more & you'll be tripping over dogs!

I was quite disappointed with my recent visit to The Woodthorpe Top - JD Wetherspoon. I encountered multiple issues during my breakfast, including the presence of eggshells and even a piece of spall in my meal. This combination of problems left me with a less than satisfactory dining experience. Finding eggshells in my breakfast and discovering a piece of spall in the dish were certainly not what I had expected. These issues raised concerns about the overall cleanliness and food quality control in the establishment. It's essential for a restaurant to uphold high standards of hygiene and food quality, and my experience fell short of those expectations. I hope The Woodthorpe Top takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their food preparation and safety measures to ensure a more enjoyable and worry-free dining experience for all customers.

The food was good and the service was quick and friendly. We had a vegetarian Fiesta Burger and a Fish and Chips, both were lovely.

Jack is a brilliant manager they had a technical fault and he was very good dealing with it when we were going to go next door instead for food, brilliant service..I give not five stars as unfortunately one of the members if staff wasn’t as good

Great place with a nice vibe, reasonably priced foods and drinks.

Food oily and not always hot. The drinks came *after* the food was delivered, which was a bit odd: short-staffed was the explanation, which I'll accept... But it still wasn't ideal. Nevertheless, all staff were very polite and helpful. The decor is bad early 1970s, and when we visited, there were a large number of screaming toddlers... But that's Spoons for you, I guess. My photo poses a question! I know it's late December 2021 and it is unseasonably warm. But why does Spoons cheese *literally* sweat. It's not terribly appetising, is all I'll say. And I'll try to be fair and point out that the Woodthorpe Top's choice of sweat-prone cheese is not of their doing, but is (no doubt) a mandate from as above I'll simply conclude with: drinks *before* food, not after; hot bacon, not cold; and no cheese sweat. Those factors would make me award a 5-star review. But as it is, it gets a 3-star review, because it's definitely acceptable, but absolutely not compelling.

Sadly standards have fallen. This pub was absolutely filthy. Early morning there was still the detritus of the previous evening present. Sticky tables, used shot glasses sat around. As the day progressed things got worse. Tables were not cleared. One of the male servers delivered food to guests and left them with other people's used glasses, cups and plates on the table. Totally unacceptable. Not only that routine cleaning wasn't done. It seems that now we don't have to worry about COVID we also do t have to worry about food poisoning either. This place needs to employ someone exclusively to clear tables and clean them The quality of the food and real ale were excellent. Alliyah was still extremely helpful, friendly and very efficient. She's a credit to the establishment as are most of the staff (other than the guy who leaves people to eat in other folk's filth).

Nice location. Friendly and busy pub with a wide cross section of people. Good food at a reasonable price. Nice area at the front to watch the world (ok, just Mapperley) go by.

Great pub, nice food although multiple items we ordered were out of stock. Staff were very apologetic and very efficient. It was very busy when we were there, however this didn't effect the service. We ordered food and drinks via the app and we were still served very quickly. Overall a great experience. Many thanks.

Cole is an enthusiastic member of staff and a credit to the business with assisting customers and being genuinely interested in them. I had a pint of Jester which was so good I stopped for another. Clean throughout and nice decor. Not sure if there's a rear beer garden, however there's two other pubs close by. Will return and edit if necessary, hopefully culminating in a 5 star review

Great food and decent prices, but sadly very few covid hygiene measures in place. A lot of mixed generation of people with only a few children wearing masks. Also as someone who needed a crutch, there wasn't much assistance offered to get my hot drinks.

The food was 50/50 ordered steak and when it arrived the food was hot apart from the chips which was cold it was like they put the chips on first and finished cooking everything else so by the time chips got to me they was cold and the rest of the meal was hot. Apart from that nice pub usually busy when I go in but drinks are fairly priced.

Not bad for breakfast food wise, but loads of dishes were out of stock! Probably too much ice in juice too, there is no option for ice on app when order unfortunately.

Other than the Roebuck Inn in town. This is my "go to" Wetherspoons. The food is always warm and served in good time. Drinks are the same. Fast and well made. The staff are nice too. I haven't really spoken much too them but you can always tell when people are nice. The only downside is that mobile data doesn't really work in there. Though you can connect to cloud. However, I call it a silver lining cause then people stay off their phones!

Rocked up to this place just passing through Mapperly Top, Nottingham. Seating was present outside, but was too cold, so we went inside. Very open place, loads of seating with some locations with a open fire (nice feature). A large long bar is situated at the front hosted by friendly staff. There is a large selection of traditional commercial pints and also some random real ales. You can also order spirits, coffee etc... The beauty of this place is that the cost of 3 decent pints was just over £10. Absolutely brilliant considering the location. The toilets are very clean and the establishment is also designed to be wheelchair friendly. Will definitely go again... Big thumbs up!! See you again guys.

The Woodthorpe Top was good and bad all at the same time, my family of 30+ arrived for a late breakfast, one of the boys at the bar was a little rude to my aunt when she asked about breakfast menu still being available. The tall lady waiting tables got slammed with our orders but she did really well in getting everyone's orders in as quickly as possible. Unfortunately the breakfast orders that came later on looked a little lean and had unremarkable flavour. Nothing more to say about it, other than we tipped the waitress as she delivered :)
