Paulette's a credit to the business! No problem or attitude to try before you buy. Some nice plants upstairs on the second floor. This Spoons doesn't have an outdoor space, but does have two tiered flooring. Try the Nottingham local ales.

Nice friendly local, lots of seating for all abilities. A few betting machines. Overall the second nicest Wetherspoon in Nottingham. Definitely recommend as a spot to meet up with friends to have “a nice old chin wag”

Really like it here. Lovely smiley staff who seem genuinely happy to be there. And of course its Spoons so you can talk in a nice warm atmosphere with no thumping music, lots of space and I always use the app which is great as the drink has almost appeared at the table before I've switched my phone back off.

Very busy and short staffed, they could also do with another coffee machine, that being said its a lovely building and the service was still good and fast and the food was as ordered

Since the Samuel Hall opened it's doors in 2010 I've been a regular customer. I have seen crew members come and go, some of the best crew was back in 2010/11 and a few since. Its been a community pub! With a good selection of good beverages and food menu, which has seen its changes over the years. I don't come in has much these days as I have found standards slipping, food quality, cleanliness and Staff laziness. I was in yesterday and I heard that one of the managers who I knew and had spoken with many of times had passed away, I would like to send my sincere condolences to Cheryl's family, friends and work colleagues on your loss. Cheryl was a lovely lady who wasn't afraid to speak her mind, she had a huge heart and surly will be missed by everyone. Sleep easy!! Xx

Came here with my boyfriend for Sunday dinner. He really liked the large mixed grill, chips were cooked to perfection. I had grilled chicken and mapel cured bacon salad I forgot to ask for no tomato or onion, would of like ceaser salad dressing but they didn't have any. It still tasted nice with garlic n herb dip.

Best Wetherspoons in Nottingham so far. Food excellent, service good. The only criticism is that I went upstairs, which I would do again but nowhere is there source of condiments upstairs. Needs fixing.

Its your typical spoons that offers great food and drink for a reasonable price. I usually go to this one in particular if im doing my university assignments and i need to kill 2 birds with 1 stone (metaphorically speaking), always nice and chilled when i am there

Had the sausage and mash. Service was fine, food was not great. I cut up 2 sausages and mixed the mash, peas and veg around. Usual salt and pepper but it just wasn’t nice, sausages were warm, bottom of mash was congealed and scolding. I only had a few bites until I couldn’t eat any more as it really did just turn my stomach. Cup of tea I had was nice though. Kept thinking next time I’ll just get an all day breakfast or steak but I’m not going to really bother with a next time. EDIT** - I actually threw up as I turned into my street just up the road.

The food was to Wetherspoon standard. I ordered a brunch meal 2 sausages, beans, bacon with extra sausages that came in two attached halves strange. It was hot and cooked throughout. I was disappointed with the hot drinks from the machine as it was look warm. The response from staff was that's the temperature of the machine. I did not fine this experience particularly friendly. Staff member did not return a smile.

Food and service was OK. 3 star due to clientelle. Someone thought it was a good idea to sit at our table and charge their phone. There are better spoons not too far away. This ones gone downhill.

Sick of being served cold food at Mapperley top we decided to give this one a try..what a shame all Wetherspoons now don’t bother with food quality control..again we were served Luke warm food on a cold plate..hash browns only just warm, burnt eggs and cold dried out bacon when there was about 15 people in the pub..now voting with my feet and would rather drive to the nearest Harvester..only the dog enjoys a Wetherspoons breakfast as he gets our leftovers..you could use that as your next advertising slogan..

Good but they like to burn the burgers and it doesn't matter if u send it back they burn the next one too. In fact they have burned the last 3 trips there. Other than that they good. I hope someone see this and make a change. I like going there but I go for wings and burger not burned burgers.

Lovely building. We had the full English breakfast which was tasty and great value for money. It was nice that coffee and tea and was refillable

Awful food. I used to like it here but it has gone down hill. Asked for a rare steak last time and it was well done, cooked another that was still well over. There also seems to be loads of flys upstairs It’s a real shame as it was a decent pub a few years ago.

Great place to eat, drink and meet friends and family. Even better with the Wetherspoons App. Just sit at a table, choose what you want from the menu's and it gets delivered straight to your table. Just make sure you put the correct table number when ordering. It was busy, but the drinks and food come quite quickly still. The staff are amazing, friendly and there to help. They made a slight error with only one of our drinks order, ( incorrect beer), but they rectified it straight away ( just take the receipt to the till downstairs) and we still got to keep the other beer, as they would have of thrown it away. So even though they made the error, it was all sorted out in an instant. I gave our waitress a tip, you don't have to if you don't want to, but as the food and beers are cheap enough, the tips are a kind gesture and for the great, fast and reliable service. Definitely go again. You could start of there and stay there all night till close or you could start there, go round a few other pubs up and down sherwood, then go back to finsh off the night.. Good bus route, just be mindful, if you get a bus, after a certain time, they only run every hour, not half hour or 20 minutes, like in the day.

Regularly went to this bar with a friend for Tuesday Steak night. My latest visit will be my last. Beer served with the steak was exceptionally poor. Completely flat with an undrinkable taste. Complained to the waitress who said she would change it. A different waitress returned with the same glasses saying they were not going to change it. When I explained that we were regulars and that we would not be using the establishment again her response was "OK". On the Friday I went into the Roebuck another Wetherspoons establishment in Nottingham and ordered by mistake the same beer. Even though this was a different establishment the beer tasted as bad as the previous one. I returned it to the bar and explained that the beer was not correct and the staff exchanged without question. The Samuel Hall need to spend time training staff in customer relations.

Our daughter lives nearby so we've popped in here a few times for a snack or drink. I always like how spoons have taken a building that might have otherwise fallen into disrepair and they create a unique place with genuine history. Always feel welcome in here and always a good breakfast etc.

They CAN NOT Cook steak took x2 attempts and this photo is the 2nd I asked for rare. The serving team just lobbed the second on the table without a sorry for a delay or the inconvenience which was slightly rude. Now I understand its a £10 steak but really! To be honest it's not difficult to cook a steak and some chips? (Warm chips taste better too!) (Having condiments like mustard is nice - none of these available just salt, pepper n vinegar) May be im wrong?!? or is it even if the food is bloody aweful first time we can show a little sparkle and service to appease the customer? or maybe go somewhere else next time...I left feeling like a number and christ that was a cheap experience not for me x

Best Wetherspoons hands down! The staff are all so welcoming and helpful, in particular Paulette, who with me being a regular known customer often brings me a coffee cup to my table before even ordering! Now that's what you call great awareness and customer service! Coffee is just 99p free refills all day and delicious. I work here 2-3 half days a week and set up on the second floor upstairs which is much better suited for workers, with the booth-like screens, plug sockets, and quieter vibe than downstairs which is much more of a pub vibe. Love being able to pop down the round from our house and spend time here for such amazing prices on food and drink. I'd be lost if this place ever closed! Keep doing what you're doing!

Sunday 16th January 17:15 Walk in for a nice casual birthday meal, go to order and am informed it's a 40 minute wait because the kitchen is behind (sort yourself out) but whatever we'll wait, then when going through every item on the menu we're met with "none left", the only thing they have is chips 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣. I'm never coming back here again ridiculous.

Spoons has 2 basic jobs , to serve food and drinks . So you can imagine our dissatisfaction when we visited for a Sunday morning breakfast at 11am and every item was stone cold . Bacon , toast , hash browns all cold. My partner ordered a burger and that too was cold , not even warm to the touch . When I asked the barman to explain why they were serving cold food his attitude was to shrug and walk off . Add to that trying to get staff to give you a key to access the disabled loo was almost impossible. Not a good experience and to be honest serving food not up to temperature is a environmental health issue , they need to sort themselves out.

Unfortunately I cannot give no stars as it doesn’t even deserve 1. Absolutely diabolical service with staff with an even worse attitude. The staff were more occupied with talking between themselves than serving, meaning an over 10 minute wait for a drink with only 2 people waiting at the bar. The food was not only burned beyond recognition, but also stone cold. When Wetherspoon’s aim to have your food done in about 10 minutes, it really takes the mick having to wait in excess of 25 minutes, and it wasn’t even busy, there were more empty than full tables. Having worked for Wetherspoons for 6 years, it is safe to say the standards have dropped severally.

Yeah it's a very nice pub. I enjoyed a vegan pizza and a nice beer or two

Just called in early for coffee and manager was just finishing of cleaning the coffee machine. The whole place was spotlessly clean which was very refreshing. Quite a spacious floor plan and still plenty of hand sanitizer around which was being used. It was not busy which was a little surprising as breakfast was still being served.
