Nice food and decent setting, they also have some very good deals on throughout the week such as 2 steak dinners for £16 on a Thursday and then a bottle of wine for £10 Thursday to Sunday. Would have been 4 stars but the service was slow considering the pub wasn’t particularly busy. 40 minutes for food to arrive.

Not too good, we had to wait for the chef to come into work which we didn't mind however the food was not good when it came out. Ordered a Surf and Turf medium, the prawns were over cooked and the steak under cooked. Manager was super helpful and very pleasant and gave my Mum a free desert. However there was another staff member who was pleasant but didn't seem to want to go the extra mile for example it was very cold in there while we were waiting asked if we could have the heating turned up was told there was a problem with it, end of a bit later the Manager came over and on discussion we said how cold it was and she immediately went to get a fan heater to help with the heating, so Manager excellent could not do enough however other member although pleasant needs to look at how Manager managed the situation and take sone pointers.

We booked a table for 8 people on Thursday 21dec when we arrived we were shown to our table to find only 7 seats we did manage to find a extra chair and moved the tables around ourselves.we all ordered our food together but when the starters came only 2 came out and 1 of them was wrong tomato soup was ordered but they sent vegetable when the other starters arrived the chicken wings came with sauce on them but were ordered without. We all finished our starters the nachos were pretty good. Next the staff bought out the mains before they had even cleared the table from the starters.when the mains came there was asparagus missing from the chicken dish and also no bread and butter that had been ordered with the fish and chips.at no point in the entire meal was there a table check by any of the staff. All the problems we had we needed to get there attention and the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. Finally we had to wait around 30 minutes for the 2 children’s desserts. All in all average food (which to be honest we expected) and less than average service.

Not a bad bit of food and the cider was ok, not everyone in our group had the same experience! The mixed grill is worth choosing. I would eat here again.

Attended a post wedding get together here and I was very impressed. The area was decorated very nicely and the food provided was really enjoyable. Zoe and her team did a great job!

No food eaten, nice inviting pub clean looking, middle of the road pricing all good Great signage for what’s going on & offers Staff seemed happy and attentive disappointing aspects not particularly warm radiators on but also electric radiators out mens toilet has a definite fragrance that it shouldn’t have. The Camden pale Ale also whilst correct glassware and temperature had a slight tang to it that shouldn’t be there overall a solid 4 with a few minor adjustments would be a great Five

We've always gone to the Green King, Holly Tree Farm in the past. But that place has gone down hill, due to staff shortages. So, we decided to give the Hemlock Stone a try, as we've never been in before. My impressions listed below. The young lady serving best described by saying person of colour- She was polite/well mannered. The other staff we pleasant enough. We had the Posh Fish & Chips, which was lovely. The building needs some investment, especially the chairs, which are threadbare! Overall, a positive experience, and we look forward to returning.

Staff and atmosphere were friendly and welcoming. Staff had sense of humour which was good. Tasty steak, chips weren't very hot though. We were seated in the very pretty window, table 99. The windows were draughty, as it's winter, maybe a secondary glaze might be helpful. Nice food, nice visit.

Had Xmas work do here. 21 of us in total. The food was good and plenty. On a down side, more staff would have been helpful ( nothing wrong with the ones working though) and heating!!! The place was freezing. But overall, satisfied.

After the funeral wake, so a sombre time. It was pleasant, and clean. The food spread was very good with a variety to choose from. I had no interaction with staff, it would have been good to have been created at some point by the manager. I'm happy to recommend the Hemlock Stone

We came for our grandads birthday. The pub is dog friendly, the food was good, and the staff are polite. Sue was very accommodating. She brought grandad a brownie and made him feel special.

No where near as good as we had hoped. One of our party has allergies and their response was one of the worse we have come across. They ordered gammon and chips and asked for a replacement of rice for the chip which the establishment was not happy with and the two eggs were not required and they did not suggest an alternative. Then they said that they had no pineapple with no alternative. To top it off no apologies or reduction in price etc. Other than that the other dishes for that party of five where just ok not much to write about. Have had a much better experience at another local pub.

Went for Sunday lunch, enjoyable plenty of tables free. Lunch very quickly, looked a little dry however the gravy In the gravy boat helped.

Food arrived quickly. Was hot and cooked well. It was fresh and rather impressive. I had the fish, which was cooked well and the batter was light and crisp. Hubby had a burger and seemed happy enough. The mushroom starter was crispy and soft so perfect. Food has definitely improved since I last ate here here. Tempted to do so again after this visit (afternoon of 4th Oct 2022). Staff very polite and made a fuss of our pooch which was nice. Last time I ate here was about 18m ago and had a pasta dish, pasta is cheap, but it left a lot to be desired (I love my pasta). So something has changed for the better. We usually go to the Wheelhouse if we're eating, but after this week Hemlock is back on the map for food

Absolutely disgusted with a staff behaviour. Went in last night got told the fire alarm wasn't working properly. They didn't say anything about the kitchen not open that was after we had to clean our own table. Then they was laughing behind our backs when we left they not be getting my custom again

Lovely local out with nice beer garden. On my last visit for a family meal was not good. 4 out of 7 of us need a meal choice change as they didn't have those meals in so limited choice, had a little wait on food time plus when my meal came I had a long, thick, black hair tangled through my food. They offered me a refund or new meal. I choice new meal as we all just starting eating but it took soooo long to come out it wasn't really hot if just cooked fresh and the rest of the party had to sit wait and watch me eat as it took so long to come out again. The 2 small children we had with us was getting restless. They are currently sorting out our complaint but I won't be rushing for a meal.

All the staff are great. We come every Thursday and they are always friendly and accommodating. We have a 9yr old 5yr old and we never feel rushed. We find the staff much more friendly than the Rodney and Wollaton.

It was great to go back to The Hemlock Stone after seeing its doors closed for such a long while. The food was lovely, we each had a different main, the roasted cauliflower salad was delicious one of the nicest meals out I have had in a while. The deal 2 for £8 cocktails in the evenings is great and they have a nice range to choose from. I would have rated 5 stars but I did not see one member of staff wearing a mask or face visor, I understand that people have exemptions but a whole team seems highly unusual. That being said all staff were pleasant.

The setting and environment is OK in this building, a typical food pub. Food is OK but not great and portion sizes are a little on the small side for an adult male. The service was a little slow we had to wait 40 minutes before our food arrived and you have to go up to the bar to order but no one tells you upon entering the pub. This is some where that I would probably go back to if I lived closer for convenience but will not be making a trip to if I lived further away than 10 miles, there is better in the area.

Out with family, dining on the festive menu. Nice food, Turkey in particular was very tasty. All meals hot and servings were plentiful. All in all a really nice meal for the price, can recommend. Bar service was quick also and friendly team. Thanks for looking after us. Only thing not 5 stars as was a large rowdy party nearby making it difficult for us to chat.

Well-kept fresh cask ales here - and 30% off on Mondays and Thursday. Friendly staff. Never eaten here though. Dog friendly in main bar - even have water bowls, snacks and toys

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
