Cracking real ale/microbrewery pub. Delicious food with GF and Vegan options. Quirky rustic decor and an alternative vibe. Friendly staff and as you would expect a large range of drinks plus constantly changing beers. Great atmosphere. Enjoy. M

Always great place to pop in before a gig. A fine choice of beers. Lots of rooms to chill out in and a nice little beer garden. The vibe is a about the music and feels very chilled out. A proper boozer

Great location close to Motorpoint arena. Open to late hours and offers tasty local ales. Popped in after Iron Maiden concert. Professional service

Great pub with a very good beer collection and nice food. Food is 50% on Wednesdays, which is an extra plus! Their halloumi fish & chips are especially delicious (chips are homemade). Although, tried the vegan tacos and the vegan mince in them was very dry, so wouldn’t recommend. Nevertheless, a local classic and one of my favourites in the area.

We held our Nottingham tour leg at the Chapel in the Angel Mircobrewery, and had a fantastic time. The Chapel is a beautiful room, intimate and allows for a wonderful connection between crowd and artist. Harley and the team were professional, contactable and really helpful both during the booking process and on the day of the show. Parking was handy with nearby street parking and access to the stage via a set of stairs out the back saved going through the pub with all the gear. I can't recommend this venue enough, as a touring artist, and also as a gig goer - they have brilliant artists on and take care to make sure that the nights are top. Thank you from me and the team x

Fantastic place with a local brewery. Large selection of beer. Delicious food with GF and Vegan options. Friendly staff. It's worth stopping on a stroll through the Notts Pub.

Really good food and fantastic vegan options. We went on a Wednesday afternoon where it was 2 for 1 on many dishes. The food was delicious and value for money was so good. Would highly recommend!

The Angel.is a stalwart of Nottingham City centre. A great selection of beer, the menu looks ace and lovely staff. It's a great place for a pint.

I went in there and had a Blonde 3.9% (pale ale) and it was very nice; it had only just come on so I can’t speak for the other beers. Price was standard if not ‘good’. The young gentleman who served me was very positive and welcoming. The room I sat in (the dining area) had a nice atmosphere. I have been in the large room before on a busy evening and I didn’t think it was very good though. There seemed to be a fairly ‘standard’ crowd in there - whatever that means

Fantastic local brewery tap-house! Very friendly and welcoming bar staff. There’s as many as 8 beers on tap, two of them at least of the writing of this review, are brewed in the building. Decent menu of food too. Worth a stop on a Notts pub crawl.

Food is great here, and atmosphere fun and lively. Great choices for vegans and veggies - the vegan fish and chips is excellent. Good range of beers and ciders.

Google says there is a wheelchair accessible entrance. However there are steps to both bars and where bands perform. Unable to attend with my family and friends. Guess I’ll roll around Hockley on my own until after the gig. Can’t get to the bar to buy a drink. Age of build not an excuse. Ableism

Use to love the angel, and still love the feel in the venue, but after 3 disappointing visits I feel like I need to point out some recent problems. The keg and cask taste like the lines are in desperate need of cleaning, and on the last 3 occasions I've had draught served in Nonic pint glasses, leaving them to go flat instantly. Its a shame because the music and atmosphere is still top, the product is just far from it.

Historic venue with an old school class. I've seen gigs here since the mid nineties and it is still one of my favourite INDEPENDENT venues in Nottingham & anywhere in the UK. Underground venue hall-of-fame candidate without doubt.

Good and atmosphere always brilliant. We visited on a weekday right at the start of lunch when they were training new kitchen staff so there was a bit of a wait for food. But as an apology, completely unprompted, they brought us an extra brown of chips. Beer is always good and it's one of my favourite pub grub places with vegan options in Nottingham

We always went there for its wonderful collection of ales and beers, but was pleasantly surprised by the food as well. It's definitely worth the visit!

If i could rate this a 0 stars i would been kicked out pal by a bouncer at an under 18s event. My mates gig just wanted to see his set and go to be honest, got kicked out as his set was starting. Just to note the guy who's gig it was is 17 years of age. ALSO, I PAYED FULL PRICE FOR MY TICKET. no id at the door, kicked out mid gig. thanks for the absolute waste of money the angel!

We pleasantly surprised. I hadn't been in the angel for many years since before it was a micro brew pub. Have to say the change is great. Nice atmosphere and plenty of space. had a pint of porter which was excellent

Post apocalyptic vibe. If satan himself ran a pub it'd something like this...but with better bogs

Visited with a friend on Saturday 29th October. We were in the lounge drinking for about 1hr where we had 2 drinks each, when we went to the bar again we were told we would need to go into the bar to order. Totally wrong in my opinion as there were a few people serving at the time.

We ordered food that took an hour to come out and everything was COLD even the gravy!!! Very disappointed, wouldn’t recommend for food (Fish&chips, lamb pie and roast with all the trimmings). Overheard other tables say they had been waiting a while as well. We asked where the food was and they said just plating it all up - but then they couldn’t bring out all the dishes together as it wasn’t ready. The food tasted like it had potential to be nice but as it was cold it turned the whole experience into a bad one. Not the cleanest place either. No comments on the drinks - seems like an average pub if you’re just coming for drinks

The food has slowly lost its quality. The pub was better before for remodeling.

Really really disappointed. We visited today and ordered a vegan platter. Advised it would be about a 45 minute wait which was fine, we were happy to wait. Food arrived and our platter was missing the mac and cheese, when we were about to ask about this I tried the ‘BBQ pulled jackfruit’ and immediately I knew it was pork and not jackfruit. We drew the staff members attention to this and she checked with the chef who checked and said that yes it was meat… even though the ticket CLEARLY said it should be vegan. I’ve worked as a waitress and in food service before so I completely understand that mistakes happen BUT what I was really disappointed with was that the staff didn’t really seem that bothered, we didn’t really get an apology and when we asked how long it would take for them to remake the platter as vegan they said they didn’t know, so as we’d been waiting 45 minutes already we just got a refund. I haven’t eaten meat in about six years. I certainly wasn’t planning on starting again so I’m pretty upset that I ate meat because of a mistake that this pub made and they honestly didn’t seem to care that much. I understand the the owner is vegan and I wonder how he would have reacted to being served meat when he ordered a vegan meal 🤷🏻‍♀️

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
