Definitely getting a 5* from me. It's the cheapest hotel I've ever stayed in because I knew I wasn't going to spend much time in the room because I had booked things to do around the area while visiting family but oh my! This is well worth a visit. I paid £60 for me and my 2 children (that included breakfast) the room was clean and fairly big. The beds were comfy! The shower was powerful and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We all slept really well and the safety chain on the door made me feel really secure being as though I was alone with my two children. The next day my Auntie joined me for breakfast for £7.95 and it was delicious. Most of us had a full English and we could get orange juice, fruit, crumpets, yogurts, cereal and croissants from the counter if we wanted them which was handy as my oldest son ordered a bacon sandwich and didn't want it after half (typical child) so he had a muffin and a orange instead. I will 100% stay here again when I visit my family. A well spent £60! Thank you The Bowman Hotel.

Good menu and really welcoming, friendly staff. We ordered via the app and that made things easier with prompt service. .Food was as ordered and served with a smile. Nice place for a meal out.

I've been here tons of times, seen managers come and go. Only had a problem with food once out of about 100 times. Chefs are awesome, food is great value. Staff are rude. Manager/team leader with glasses needs sacking. Horrible attitude the way she spoke to my friend.

Service was good. Didn't rate the food, we had chicken wings which was burnt. Also friends had Nachos which was soft being it was in some sort of sauce. Normally Nachos is a dip of some sort.

We booked a table online, and when we came in we weren’t greeted by anyone so we tried to find our table ourselves, which we did. My partner went up to the bar to order our food and was stood there for 10 minutes plus not being served whilst at least 3 different members of staff walked past him multiple times and ignored him. Just as we were about to leave, somebody finally came over to the till to take our order. We wanted to use blue light discount, however they wouldn’t accept the card we presented, they needed it on an app, which we didn’t have. My partner spent another 10 minutes trying to download the app but signal wasn’t great so he had to stand outside in the rain to get it to work. My partner ordered a cider but only got half a glass because they didn’t have enough for a full glass. For the duration of our visit, there was a young lad sat near us vaping inside which wasn’t a good look for the pub nor very pleasant. However, the food and drinks were very nice, even though we had to go to another table ourselves to find cutlery and salt and pepper. We ordered the mixed grill and our steaks were cooked perfectly as we wanted them, all the other meat was fresh, hot and tender and was good quality meat. The food came quickly and was enjoyable. It’s just a shame that we got ignored during our visit as this has put us off from returning in the future.

Decent food only lost one star for not a very large meat portion I felt like they were trying to turn me vegan plus the plate was flooded with instant gravy. The service was good. Mens toilets were flooded when I visited and there was no warning sign.

I'm not sure what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was really good, hot and tasty. Only the onion rings let the side down...not crispy and a bit bland but that aside our party of 6 were all really happy. I'd definately return here

First time staying at a Green King hotel and we were very pleased with it. Plenty of free parking and upon arrival received a pleasant welcome by the receptionist. The layout of the rooms were a little different. Definitely gave a feel of a motel but not in a bad way. Actually quite liked how it appeared. The room we had was very spacious for the 3 of us. Beds were comfortable and we all had a lovely night's sleep. Went into the pub for breakfast and again it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff and the food was really good. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great cute ground floor room in a Courtyard. Very reasonable price (£36) Meal in the pub that night was also lovely. We were the last ones in, but nobody rushed us out. Will definitely be back again when visiting family.

A lovely warm welcome. Good room with a comfortable bed. Clean bathroom with a lovely shower. I had the full English for breakfast which was well cooked. Danish pastries, croissants, fruit, cereal and yoghurt was also available along with the usual teas and coffee. Quiet location, a little away from the city centre but within walking distance of the tram which made a visit to the city centre very enjoyable.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was very busy which is normally a good sign. Food was great. Staff were attentive. Will definitely call again.

Rooms lovely and clean, spacious. My heating broke down on the coldest day of the year so far....dealt with quickly and efficiently and my room was toasty again before too long.

Room was basic but clean and tidy. Just what we needed for the night, food was good, made better by the ability to have it delivered to the room, which after a long drive was exactly what we wanted! Couldn't fault, staff where helpful too! I'd stay again if I needed to venture that far again

Absolutely love it here everything was spot on. Just outside Nottingham but easy access into town by bus or tram. The staff are a credit to this hotel everyone including regulars are very warm and friendly.

Come here quiet regular... staff always go above and beyond for everyone, always polite and happy to help with everything. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff

Poor menu - very basic and generic. Just frozen food served in small portions with zero attention to presentation. No service interaction - ended up using app as nobody came. No cutlery was given - no staff to ask. 1* is being generous

Service is always great, friendly and will always do that little bit more. The pub has quiz nights, a pool table, machines and a beer garden. It is a great atmosphere for all the family and to even have a drink with friends. The decor could do with some improvement but that would be to due to Green King company. The food is affordable and good portions most of the time. (Bit stingy in the chips) But overall a great place to eat and drink.

We stayed at the Bowman with my father in June 23 for 4 weeks while waiting for a house to move into. Staff Front of house and Housekeeping were very kind and helpful people. Accommodated us very well and professionally. Highly recommend staying at the hotel.

Came here on Monday with friends for lunch. Service was great, food came out quickly and was very nice. Staff were lovely and we enjoyed the pool table.

Just a review for eating at the bowman. I had 8oz steak with chips, tomato peas and onion. The steak was cooked perfect The garden peas were fresh and the chips were perfect too. The chocolate trio dessert tasted delicious The food was delicious 😋 Thankyou

Rooms are basic but have everything you need and spacious. Bar and restaurant the staff are all great and value for money across everything. Ideal for locals or people passing by the area. Have nothing to complain about and would recommend if passing

I visited the Bowman for a birthday meal with some friends. From start to finish, my experience was warm and welcoming. The staff were very smiley and we were taken straight to our table. I thought the menu was full of variety and the service was super speedy. Also, the music they play is always so good! The location is very convenient and the car park is big! I also stayed at the Bowman Bedrooms. Despite checking in late (11pm), the receptionist was lovely and showed me to my room. She told me when breakfast was and that she'd be available throughout the night to call if I needed anything. I felt very looked after and cared about. The room was very spacious and clean and the heating kicked in quickly! I will definitely be staying again!

We not long got back from here and can I just start with a postive the server that brought our food was lovely and welcoming , but when food came I was slightly disappointed I had a Sunday dinner with beef and if I’m being honest it was like a frozen Sunday dinner you get from the corner shop , I ended up sending it back as it was still cold and frozen the server brought it back out and it was still pretty much frozen but couldn’t be bothered to send it back again as I felt bad for the server , on the other hand my partner got the large mixed grill his chips and peas were still frozen and the steak he wanted came as well done when he wanted medium rare slightly disappointed but definitely won’t be going back!

First time back after a few years - had appalling service then. But was very pleased. Friendly staff and good quick service. Food arrived promptly and was very nice. Definitely will be returning soon.

I came in today to do some college work to give my some different scenery, grub and coffee. Overall I really enjoyed the environment, the food and coffee and atmosphere overall. Those that worked here were lovely, friendly and accomadating which helped to feel at ease and comfortable overall. The food was tasty, and hit the right spot. The coffee was enough to get me through some work and tasted lovely. Overall, the pub itself has a lovely vibe and seems to both accomadate quiet and busy periods. Even as a family friendly pub, coming at a time of quiet was lovely and refreshing. Music was positive and calming. Overall would 100% recommend if looking for some good grub, a place to come away from the heat and get some refreshing drinks. And lovely atmosphere.

This was a great place stay whilst visiting Nottingham. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, lovely breakfast. Located next to the tram stop which meant our evening out in Nottingham was easy.

Great staff and service, usually not too busy and the food is excellent all the time. Only one time the food has been wrong and they gave us a new meal for free. Would recommend 👍🏻👍🏻

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday but was very disappointed with the new menu. Prices were much higher, but even worse was the lack of vegan and vegetarian options. The vegetarian selection was so limited, I'd have preferred to order off the covid menu. After 10 minutes of deliberating how to make the most of the 2 for £11.99 weekday special, we decided it was better to go home and cook. It's a shame as the service and atmospere seemed cozy and we really wanted to enjoy a meal at the pub.

Never had a problem here, whether it’s eating, attending a function upstairs, drinking or sleeping! Done all 4 on a regular basis and cannot recommend enough. They have a good mixture of experienced and new members of staff who go above and beyond to look after the customers they’re serving. Was really well looked after by Ellie who went beyond the call of duty to ensure our most recent experience was brilliant. Cannot recommend enough.

Food was like warm,told to get salt from another table by staff,had to get own cutlery, very noisy with unpleasant staff. As a regular to this chain of pubs I would not step foot inside the bowman again, as I'd sooner travel further and get treated right with hot food and pleasant staff

Nice and clean hotel, the beds were rather hard and the stair case was not very even, but the rooms was spacious and had all the basic essentials you need. Nice friendly service and the breakfast in the morning was very good value for money. Tasty too!

The staff are polite and friendly and helpful in the hotel part. The rooms are well looked after and serviced everyday if requested. Reasonably priced considering what most places cost these days. Options for breakfast and dinner to your room are a nice touch. There is a pub/restaurant with the same name on the premises which is good.

We visited her for our Christmas Day dinner first time we have eaten out for Christmas Day and safe to say we wasn’t disappointed. The tables were dressed in a very festive way and the organisation and service was great. The food what amazing and all hot and freshly cooked. We will be sure to book again for 2023 thanks again to the bowman team

Went for a ukulele evening. Location great plenty of parking. Upstairs function room great. Food prices good. Not enough bar staff, had to wait a long time to be serviced. But a great place otherwise.

We had a meal here with my husband and his mum and step dad. The meals were large, hot, tasty and didn't take too long. We left happy and will be returning 😊

Stayed 1 night, room was clean and fresh, beds very comfy and everything you need in the room. Receptionist is very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely only thing was the lack of 'normal' tea bags at breakfast. Lovely stay would highly recommend.

It's getting worse the staff are stressed out at times because they are few in number, 2 people behind the bar is not adequate to serve 12 individuals needing drinks and meals, I won't be going back even though I love the meals they serve. When I worked in a busy shipping office the customers we're the most important after the product being supplied, if this procedure is adhered too the profit will come and everyone will be happy including the staff who do the serving.

A great place to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A good food menu. With plenty of drinks available. It was our first time going. So found it impressive with all the old photos of the building though the ages. Just a quick heads up. If you order food its served on a very hot skillet so ask for a plate. As one was not offered. Ur your food will be over cooked before you finish your meal. Was a reasonable price. Would go back again.

Great place, staff are very welcoming and helpful, food is really nice we had the steak fondue challenge and shared between 2 of us as it worked out cheaper and got more for your money, we couldn't finish it. Drinks are good prices. Stayed at the hotel, which is very clean, comfortable beds. You can have food brought to room. Highly recommend.
