Nice Location with a large outdoor area. We have been there last Saturday and had a Super Service at the Bar. I was undecided because of the great selection so the barmaid took her time and even let me try a beer "shot". Good job, i felt very comfortable as a customer.

We had a very low-key wedding reception here, and it was absolutely perfect. The manager (Becky) and the bar staff (James & Dan especially) couldn't have done more to help us. Great food, great drink, and a great time had by all. Highly recommend this brilliant pub!

Easy place to find. Staff were friendly. They had a fantastic range of different ale's on the tap. The woman on the bar let me sample a ale to see if I like it or not

Really lovely chilled atmosphere for drinks on a Friday evening. We didn't eat on this occasion but the burgers we saw going to other tables looked amazing. Beer garden had loads of seating space and there looked to be a rather good play area for children. Second visit at lunchtime but just for a game of pool this time. Still a lovely chilled atmosphere.

Had a very enjoyable stay, spotlessly clean everywhere, lovely atmosphere, friendly, polite, and smartly dressed staff. Food first class, and plenty of it, nice size room, bed very comfy, all bedding super white, and room decorated to a high standard. Good value for money, would definitely stay again, and would highly recommend as a first class place to stay. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work!

Great venue for so many occasions. NYE offering with Kellys Hetoes was superb. A great time was had by all. Staff worked non stop and ensured customers were not kept waiting to be served. Well done to all and especially the band for a super gig.

Went here for a meal in that dead period between Christmas and New Year 22/23. Service from the front of house staff wasn't amazing. They sat us down then ignored us for about 15 minutes until we asked for menus. However, the guy that brought the food over (big guy, friendly face) was super friendly and welcoming. It's dog friendly and they had a good selection of beers. The food was mediocre at best. Two of our party had salads, one chicken and one halloumi. Both the cheese and the chicken were very dry and tough and eventually got fed to the dog.

Very Good πŸ‘ surprisingly big pub! Very lively and welcoming with many rooms, all nice, and a massive garden sitting space with canopy terrace for the rain we had. There was love music, Saturday night, brilliant πŸ‘

Visited Saturday 18th March 2023 late afternoon. 3 stars isn't really accurate, it's probably 3.5 stars to be honest. Inside has been nicely decorated, it's a traditional pub, but it's not old fashioned, it's clean and contemporary. Outside is surprising, the garden is big with lots of seating. Beer choice is a mix of genuinely good cask from some excellent breweries alongside macro lager and cask, spirits, wine, soft drinks etc are available. A fair few big screen T.V's showing sports were around....which is unfortunately why we weren't overly keen, nothing wrong with the place, just not really our style.

Decent food, need to order at the bar. Prices a little high for quality. Good playground area for kids.

We hired a room for a family event recently for a great price and the star facilitated a lovely buffet for 30 people. The staff were fantastic and made the day go smoothly!

Called in the Star for a Father's Day lunch. On this day they only served pizza and chips which left the fussy father-in-law with only cheesy chips. I had a Star Special pizza which was very over cooked. Very disappointing meal. Unlikely to go again and certainly could not recommend it

Great pub and very good craic, food is good and staff very friendly, professional and attentive. Perfect for a couple of nights stay, rooms extremely clean -better than many hotels- and tidy, recently renovated I would say. Tram stop a few yards away which runs until after midnight. Would recommend and come back!

Great big place with an excellent selection of cask ales and favourites on draught - prices are a little steep though, makes a visit a rare treat unfortunately as I'd love to be able to frequent more often.

We had a family reunion here with a buffet laid on and drinks. Excellent range of food, some nice bites for veggies too. The room was a good size and opened out on to the very large and well kept garden. A children's play area sits alongside lots of outdoor benches and tables - enclosed and easy to watch children from your seat. From the outside the Star Inn looks relatively small but inside it is spacious and well laid out. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

We'd forgotten how fantastic The Star is. We were completely underwhelmed with a visit to the new pub next door, so popped into The Star. Great prices, superb range of ales and the garden is still the best place to sit with a pint in Beeston. It was a packed Friday evening. We found a table outside with ease though. People with kids, groups & couples. The atmosphere was warm & everyone was enjoying themselves. So good, we returned after a pint at The Crown. We're determined to visit regularly from now on.

Visited for thd first time. Quick friendly service's, all staff were polite and made you feel welcomed. It's large pub, outside looks are deceiving, the garden at the back is big and clean. Nice area to sit out on a sunny day with family and friends.

Had a lovely time at the end of term silent disco! Make your own pizza night for kids was a great idea, just a shame about the huge wait. The kids loved the play park in the beer garden, it felt like a nice and safe closed space.

I visit here Sundays or Tuesdays to play pool. Staff very friendly. It has a couple of snugs and then round the back a games room an area for watch tv or sitting down in big grouos and then you have the outside with a covered area and open area with a small playground for kids. The pub is also dog friendly.

Stayed over here on a Saturday night, just wanted a place to sleep. Friendly staff, easy access & accommodating for an early check in. Clean rooms. Noisy location next to the tram line and could hear the night life outside until the early hours. Very easy to let ourselves in and out. If you want a place to sleep without any frills it's perfectly okay for a cheap night's stay over.

First impressions left us a bit doubtful! However staff were great, good rapport and friendly/helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food limited but great value, the pizzas were really tasty. Beer was good and overall a welcoming and positive experience.

I spent a lovely afternoon with friends over a few drinks. It was really cosy and perfect for a winter afternoon. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the loos are lovely!

Excellent pub not far from the station. Trams pass the front. A good selection of beers and friendly staff. Used as a location in Series 2 of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

My mum & sisters stayed here recently for my sisters graduation. We arrived later than planned (M1 car park issues) and of course we're starving. The Star Inn opened the kitchen to chuck on some pizzas and wedges for us. The staff were all so incredibly accommodating, really friendly and helpful. The room facilities were perfect for what we needed and all clean too. Thank you all again for being so great! πŸ˜€

This is an amazing place to stay! My daughter and I were there for my other daughters graduation in Nottingham university. They were so accommodating as we needed to get changed earlier than our time to book in to our rooms which they allowed us. We changed our venue to eat in the Star after the graduation coz of the friendly service. Brilliant place with lots of atmosphere. Really recommend. Rooms well kitted out and comfortable!
