A really great live venue! The sound is awesome. It is one of the smaller venues I've visited but that's a really good thing because it made the gig feel cosy and intimate. Other patrons were chilled out and cool, very diverse and happy people, all ages. The door staff were friendly, as were the bar staff. I need a seat at gigs because I can stand for any period of time and even though I sent the email requesting one only a few hours before the gig, one had been placed and reserved for me. I find this absolutely brilliant. I highly recommend The Bodega for gigs, clubbing and for going for a drink. Deffo one of the best venues I've been to. Thanks for having me 😀

Such an intimate venue for live performances. Went to see my favourite band The Dear Hunter there and you can see just how close I was from these pictures. The beer was a bit pricey and the security guard at the front was a bit abrasive but overall a fantastic experience and a cool music venue.

Love a bodega GIG! Small venue but as a result makes a gig feel 'old school!). The drinks were reasonably priced and it's in a great location for town centre so ease of travel! Only issue was security kicked us out at exactly 11 so night out people could danxe- giving us band watchers very little time to say hello to the band and buy merchandise! They were very nice when kicking us out either:( Overall suggest going to watch a band here!

Went for a gig upstairs. It's small, but well laid out. The band (Orchards) were high enough on stage that we could see them from where we were stood at the back. It sounded pretty good too. The bar looked to have a decent mix of lagers, ciders and other such bevvies, but as I was driving, I didn't really investigate.

Cracking small music venue in Nottingham City centre. Saw slide guitarist Troy Redfern and Canadian rock band The Commoners.

On the night I visited the gig was sold out. The capacity was far higher than what was comfortable and the audience was packed in like sardines. We went into the gig well before it was due to start but it was impossible to get to position where you could see the stage, as a result I saw nothing. In addition, the bar and number of staff were totally inadequate for demand and it was impossible to get any form of refreshment. It is a pity as we need venues like this to keep music alive but this is not the way to do it. It just gives the bands a bad reputation which they really don't deserve. I won't be going back to this venue and they really should consider substantially reducing their maximum capacity.

Last time my wife went there before moving out the area was 40 yrs ago. Great to see it still there. Had some AMAZING times The guys there were so friendly letting us look around the dance room even though it was locked up normally A few changes but wow great memories

Great gig venue upstairs but with a very rude barman who wouldn't accept that he'd got our order wrong (he gave us two lagers instead of two ciders). He then poured two ciders and wanted to charge us for them when we refused as we had already paid for the incorrect round he then took the ciders away and poured them away leaving us with the drinks we didn't want!!!

Great venue for music, quite intimate. I’ve been here before on a night out too, where the upstairs is turned into a kind of club. The outdoor seating area is the real charm of this place, though. I think they expanded their garden during COVID times and it really has worked out a treat, meaning you can get a lot more people into the bar without it becoming cramped!

Bodega is only a small venue, I think it holds around 200.? However, the atmosphere is very lively & friendly. There is a small bar with a reasonable selection of drinks. We went to see Fatherson & they were really good. If you get the tram to the Lace Market the venue is literally 60 seconds walk around the corner. I would highly recommend a visit & am looking forward to returning in the near future to see some other bands.

Great bar ended up here on a Monday night with my family and a few friends for my daughter's graduation night we ended up dancing on the seats in the secret garden area to a live DJ under the heat lamps! Cracking night would highly recommend it's a proper mint place👍

Lovely bar staff, but terrible door staff! Rude, cocky and obnoxious, talking about people and making fun of them no sooner had they checked their ID. Really nice smoking area/beer garden. Venue is amazing and intimate with professional staff. Saw Ocean Grove who also praised the venue and staff. Over all great place

Absolute legend of a DJ played The Strokes on Indie Wednesdays after I politely requested and made my night. 4+ times. Overall amazing taste and Dj’ing, featuring the Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Tame Impala, Foals, Catfish and more. Couldn’t ask for more in an Indie night - unlike so many other Nottingham clubs. Absolute banger mix. Thank you super cool DJ duo on 17/11, and thank you to the super chill security officer that caught me and my friend in a slightly comprising situation in the toilet and was chill, personable and understandable about it… Greatest club in Nottingham made the greatest by its great staff. :)

Cracking live music venue, so glad it's still going 20+ years after my first visit. Decent sound. £10 for 3 bands, amazing value. Decent pint of Bodega Lager.

  • 4/5 Thomas P. 1 year ago on Google
The main bar is fairly mainstream, a decent place although not much for dark ale, but the punk gigs upstairs are fantastic! A great crowd, not too rough and people are cool about giving space. If you're curious about the local current punk scene seriously consider seeing a gig here. The atmosphere is brilliant, especially if you're after that revolutionary flair.

I went to The Bodega for the first time for cocktails yesterday after being recommended by a friend, and it was great. It was rather quiet for a Sunday night (even though there was a gig going on later), but the cocktails were great and service was good. I settled for the Bodega After Eight (after ordering a Blackcherry Margarita, but then being told a few minutes later that it wasn't available) and it was absolutely delicious.....so good that it someone had just given me it to drink I would have no idea it was a cocktail and that it had alcohol in it! Cocktails are £8.50, so not that bad for the area. I would certainly go back again.

Reasonable drinks and great selection. Having a DJ seems a bit pointless in this day and age. We didn't stay for very long but it got quite busy. People were struggling for seating which turned into musical chairs every time someone went to the loo.

This could be a 'great' little venue. The staff downstairs on the day we went were a little, no, a lot slow. Upstairs was much better, even though much busier. Security personnel were very friendly and efficient. The band 'the Devil Makes Three' were most excellent, really enjoyed the set. Don't drive in Nottingham. It's not worth the stress. I don't think town planning are on the correct prescription. Total madness 😠 Its the only place in the country I have concerns about driving in. I won't do it again, I'll choose another venue in another city to visit, which is a shame. Nottingham has so much to offer.

After a few years absent from Bodega, to return was nostalgic and still as fun as I remember. Not much has changed - the music is still great and the staff are friendly. Moreover, I was surprised that the prices were still quite good despite the high cost of living at the moment - £3 beer and £5 Happy Hour cocktails!

Superb little gig venue in Nottingham. Good range of drinks including alcohol free beer on draft. Great acoustics. Gig venue is upstairs. Downstairs is more a bar for indie types and students. Attracts a mixed crowd! Gigs are usually up and coming bands who need support more than ever.

Came to see Somebody's Child and they're support act Lizzie Esau. We was litterally welcomed by door staff with a smile. I know its abit backwards but for someone with anxiety I must say I felt 100% safe with the security. Gotta be the one of the best clubs/pubs I've been in. I hope to return on a student night! Everyone was polite, not only staff, fans and normal punters. I look forward to the nutty night in Notts. Thank you

A great atmosphere in this bar. Lots of seating both inside and outside. Additional outdoor seating now provided in Cobham Chambers. Good selection of beers. Haven't been in the nightclub part upstairs.

We had great gig evening in the venue, went for Millie Manders and Shut up. Venue was full as all pre sale tickets was sold out ,it is something fantastic with being able to be around artists, not behind a bars and all security. All good. Non alcoholic drinks was available on the bar so perfect for s×e. See you on The Meffs.

Had a brilliant time at the Thomas Headon concert. Venue is nice and small meaning we could get really close without having to queue for hours outside!

  • 3/5 Joel H. 3 years ago on Google
Expensive drinks, bad music and the we code to queue songs didn't work so had to put up with it. I feel like I just chose a dead night tho.

Came here for Indie Wednesdays, there was a fight when we arrived and no bouncers around, then later on in the night another guy tried to punch my friend for no apparent reason so he went and told the bouncer outside who didn’t care at all. They only had 2 bouncers for the whole place and neither of them were there when needed, they may as well not have been there at all. I sent Bodega an email months ago explaining they should have more security and they never even replied.

Great bar with good atmosphere, thought the DJ- Stiff Kittens- was playing some great tracks and keeping the vibes going. Nice beer garden/smoking area to hang out in too. Club room upstairs seemed good if you like cheesy music- (that part wasn't for me )

A great intimate venue for live music. The downstairs bar had a great selection of beers and cocktails and fine music from a DJ. Outside and up some stairs to the live venue, a smaller bar with not as much choice but you can go downstairs to get what you want via staircase at rear inside. A great night with great bands.

Such an awesome little venue. Nice bar, good sound, great space. The calibre and quality of the live music is excellent. It has a good sized outside area for smokers etc. I love it.

  • 5/5 R M. 5 years ago on Google
Great venue. Small but fantastic when seeing your favourite band as it feels very intimate. Seating area with heat lamps keeping you warm whilst you have a cigarette. Not so good for wheel chair access to the gig room up stairs. Best to check that they can accommodate you if you have trouble climbing stairs. Staff polite and friendly. Parking in a nightmare!!!! If you travel by car, find a park and ride. I had to park quite far from the venue after an hour stuck in total gridlock and cost £5 for 3hrs. But not to end on a negative. We had a great night there.

Bodega has a cool small bar downstairs with a nice little outdoor seating and smoking area. Drink prices are fairly standard for Nottingham City Centre. Upstairs is the venue. This is great great club nights such as Indie Wednesdays, where they play top quality Indie/Indie Rock songs until the early hours. The selling point of upstairs for me is the regular, talented local bands that are put on by the venue. The gigs I’ve been to here are usually priced from £6-8 on the door, but very worth that price. (Photos are from Brooders gig with Marvin’s Revenge and Faux Pas). Good atmosphered place with friendly staff!

Brilliant old style music venue and great bands. Only reason missing a star is they charge more for beer upstairs than down so you miss some of the gig to go down a flight of stairs. Not necessary DHP
