A real shame really. It's a lovely pub in a great location. Three outdoor areas. It overlooks the river trent and is in an idyllic spot! The few times I've been in recently, it's been a bit of a shambles. Getting drinks at the bar is painfully slow. There has been a queue each time I've been in. The drinks are priced very reasonably, though! One week, we only ordered a couple of deserts on the app. It took 1.5 hour for them to arrive after repeatedly querying at the bar. The manager who eventually brought them out apologised and gave us a refund. The next week we ordered a lasagne with some sides and a burger. I don't like to be negative, but a fair and honest opinion is : It was well below par. For the price ( about £30 ) the food was terrible. Not only were the sides luke warm but the mains were very low quality and didn't look appetising. If the meal had been £15, I would still have been disappointed.I won't eat here again. Also, there was no toilet paper in the loos! I hope they manage to turn this place around. It could be they are just having a bad couple of weeks! Its a lovely pub with friendly staff and could be great! For good food and another river view, I would recommend The Unicorn. Ten minutes up the road. Edit : I have tried several more meals here and they have improved. I have increased the rating to reflect it.

5th July we have been to the Ferry Boat Inn and a had a lovely meal. Excellent value with nice food. It has a large car park. Very large eating area. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Service was quick. The location is absolutely beautiful next to the Trent. The three of us had a dessert off of the children's menu, and it was really good and an ample portion.

We visited the Ferryboat pub for a casual late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The staff were nice and friendly on arrival. We had no trouble being seated - but I'd say it can get busy. We ordered 2 main courses of smothered steak sizzler, chips, pepper sauce and we ordered extra various side dishes. We were served by a lovely, friendly helpful server, Holly, who was happy to help us when our food was served. The food was lovely and hot and tasted wonderful. Then we treated ourselves to the giant donut filled with cream which was moist and very appetising! Overall a nice relaxing visit with tasty food. We will be returning very soon.

The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. There were 25 of us and we were very demanding but we couldn’t have asked for better service! The food was great and there’s loads to do for the kids too. A special thank you to Holly who washed my friends daughters brand new white designer cardigan after I spilled half a glass of red wine over her! I will definitely go back and I definitely recommend to anyone thinking of going!

Lovely place to come too. The amazing views of the river are outstanding. Such a beautiful backdrop when eating your food. The food is so nice, the restaurant is a lovely old building with all the old beams. So cozy. The staff are so nice, polite and helpful. Although the young lad behind the bar just stands there while the ladies do all the hard work. I think is slightly unfair. Me and my wife have been on a few occasions and certain staff do most of the work.

We decided to head here for a lunch on Sunday. We sat in a lovely spot looking out over the river. The kids loved the indoor play and the park outside. Food portions were huge and nice. Staff very friendly. It’s in a great location next to the river with a nice walk across the road.
