Went for lunch. Chose from their special offer choices. Two courses £14.90 The food was good for the price. Staff were really nice although food took a little while to come out. Recommend for a nice steak at very good value. Didn't have time for dessert, but it was only another £3.00 if we did. Review helpful like 👍 follow thanks

What a great place great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff, we had the ribs and grill ans it was one of the best steaks I've ever had great with the garlic butter plus lovely ribs with great BBQ sauce great chunky chips too we both enjoyed our meal I went for pudding as well and had the apple crumble with plenty of custard was very nice too, overall great experience

An enjoyable steak and chips, Saturday afternoon lunch with friends. Haven't been for a while, but enjoyed it. Great attentive service and had the lunch time deal which seemed a bargain. A mixed bunch of diners.

Nice little place. Service was good, food very average. Frozen chips not great would have been nice with homemade chips deserts seemed to be shop bought and not of the good brands. Just little tweaks could have made it better

Had lunch with my hubby, delicious steak, best one we have had in a long time. Perfectly cooked, juicy sirloin and rib eye, charcoal grill flavour, fresh sides and sauces, chips were not greasy at all, only the onion ring was a bit drenched in oil. Desserts were nice too, although the only item I did not find awesome was the lemon meringue pie (have had better ones). The Alabama chocolate cake was amazing. Even the drinks were nicely prepared. I had a soda and cordial, well balanced, not to sweet, just right. The service was kind, professional, corteous and patient. The music on the background was highly enjoyable and in correlation with the Soul Motown theme of the restaurant and at a volume that let you carry on a conversation. Overall I would give this place a 5 * rev :)

This place never fails to impress me! The food is consistently top drawer & the service is always faultless. If you're looking for somewhere to eat in Nottingham city centre, this place won't let you down. Good food, good portions, great atmosphere & friendly good staff!

Great from start to finish. Atmosphere relaxed with great music to listen to whilst dining. Staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive and food was Amazing. Been twice now and was not disappointed. Great value. Highly recommend.

Quite possibly the best food I have eaten in the past decade! It was absolutely fantastic. We came here as the grooms party on a stag do, and were amazed at both the quality and atmosphere of the steakhouse. I personally shared a meat feast starter - the meat of the ribs just melted of the bone, the wings were delicious and the nachos had a wonderful flavour and consistency. For the main I had the rump steak, and was cooked to perfection. It was so soft and juicy, and the taste was awesome. I think the entire party loved their steaks, and will be recommending it. I had the chef's special dessert and it was so well put together, even after all the other food I managed to fit it in and was overwhelmed by the quality. If anyone has managed to get to the end of this review and isn't convinced of trying it out, here is my recommendation! 100% worth the time, and money we spent in the restaurant, and we will be returning!

Wow!!! I've eaten a lot of steaks in my lifetime and this place has got to be up there in my top 3! My wife and I went there just before closing and even so they accommodated us immediately. Food is fabulous and the manager; Sheriff (not sure of the spelling) was so friendly and polite. Absolutely Fabulous!

Amazing food and the staff are really friendly. The restaurant has a great vibe, and the location is really good. If you're a fan of garlic mushrooms, then this is the place to order them. 😀

The restaurant is fine but nothing amazing. We sat upstairs and it was very loud so difficult to have a conversation across the table. The steak my son ordered was very good but other meals just ok. Staff were friendly and service efficient. Overall the atmosphere, menu and decor just felt a bit dated and tired, but if just steak and chips is what you are after this may be the place for you.

New chef? Ok it was my first time in here and I'd been told the food could be a bit "hit or miss" however when the starter came out I knew we were on to a winner and we thought that perhaps it was a new chef? Anyway the starters were ace and the mains too, I had a big juicy steak and couldn't fault it or the bits that came with it.. managed to squeeze in a pudding too which wasn't quite as good a standard as the first two courses but still nice.. all in all a great experience so can only highly recommend it.. We WILL be back!

Me and my partner went to soulville for his birthday yesterday The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were so welcoming and the music selection was unique and great. I had the cream mushroom starter and 8oz rump and he had the insane mixed grill, clean plates both sides, it was so good! Afterwards they brought out a birthday dessert to surprise my partner with which was amazing, and I ordered a dessert myself but in the end we had to take the rest home because we were so full Great portion sizes, lovely and accommodating staff and great value for a steakhouse, we will be going back as soon as possible!

Wow… what a lovely place. Eat before 5pm at weekends (6pm midweek) and it’s £13.95 for a 3 course meal… and what a great meal it was! Mine was Chicken wings, ribs and then sticky toffee pudding! Really nice relaxed atmosphere, great service. Just wished we lived closer❤️

Well, I have never been to this steak house before. I treated my brother for his birthday. We were welcomed and shown upstairs. Downstairs was full with diners. The food was outstanding, and so were the staff, who kept checking on us to see if everything was okay. Ten out of ten stars 🌟

Good food in a nice environment. Been wanting to try this place for a while and it didn't dissapoint. Lovely tunes!!! Nice food. Only let down by table near the door so a bit chilly!!! Will definitely be back though.

Lovely place, went here on a date and it was great. Service was good and the food absolutely blew me away. It’s nice to finally go to a steakhouse that knows what Medium Well is supposed to look like. It was also very reasonably priced for a full service restaurant.

My friend & I had a really nice lunch here, the service was very good too. The 3 courses for £17.95 had great choices from the menu. We'll definitely be returning soon.

Couldn't fault our experience at all. Party of 19 catered for with ease. Staff were on hand for anything we needed but they we so on the ball, we never did need them. Waited on fully at the table. The staff were very friendly and professional at all times. The food was amazing quality and a great price, good selection of drinks too. We will definitely be returning and can't recommend this place highly enough. Great central location too.

My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Soulville on Saturday. The lovely young man who served us was very attentive and offered great advice for our drinks. Our dessert was delicious and the young lady who served us was very friendly. Pleasant staff and great atmosphere. Thomas and I will be sure to come back soon!

Sadly not a rave review, attended saturday night, party of 4. As we entered there was a medical emergency taking place, which understandably is out of the establishments control and we were informed and warned that food maybe delayed which we totally understood. When we did order and receive our food two of the starters were inedible, they were totally dried out and over cooked, it was like trying to eat shoe leather, we told the waitress and we requested we were not charged for them, which we weren't. The 3 steaks ordered were over cooked as well, one asked for medium rare and it was medium at best, reality well done, but was edible one lamb shank which appeared to have been cooking all day, was dry and tasteless and could not be eaten. At no point did anyone ask if everything was to our satisfaction, bearing in mind the issue with two of our starters. When the plates were eventually collected, again seeing as one dish was only half eaten, again no one asked us if everything was ok. Staff although very pleasant and friendly seem to be winding down for the night as all congregating in the kitchen and the music turned off, this was 9pm! Such a shame as we were looking forward to eating here, but will not return. Although every establishment can have an off night, this very much felt that there was no care on dinners satisfaction or enjoyment. I did voice this to the manager but was just told oh it's not usually like this please come back, but quite frankly would not like to risk it, was expensive for what it was.

Went for Father’s Day and even though I checked before booking and was told the menu on line is the only one we can order from (no set Father’s Day menu) upon arrival we were informed the normal offer they do couldn’t be used today, this was disappointing as I was planning on a 3 course meal but had to forgo a starter as it now wasn’t in my budget!! however the food was exceptional I had the chilli burger and it was by far the best burger I’ve had, the chips weren’t the best, my mum had sweet potato fries which were incredible so it’s worth the upgrade cost, we had planned on having a desert but the only desert I liked was out of stock, our table was booked for 1.15 so to have run out so early into service was poor planning when the restaurant was fully booked, surely on a day like Father’s Day you ensure you have enough stock in? Apart from the above niggles this is a fantastic place the service was exceptional food amazing and on a normal day it’s reasonably charged would definitely recommend

Everything perfect. Great music. Great steak. Great service. And I’m a picky guy but this was really perfect. Forgive the boring plate picture. I don’t do mushrooms and couldn’t have the onion ring or tomato.

It's been many years since I last visited The Soulville Restaurant, not much changed. Great Motown music playing on the jukebox. My steak was tasty and well presented. 3 of us at here and all enjoyed our meals.

The wife and I ate here last night before going on to Rock City. I had the ribs to start and they literally fell of the bone. Then I had the Fillet Steak medium rare and it was easily the best steak I've had in a restaurant. The chips were big, crispy and fluffy on the inside. Lovely meal. If I were to be overly critical I'd say the main followed the starters a little too quickly so there was no time to catch your breath but that was really looking for something to improve on. All in all a fantastic meal. Thank you.

Approx 25 of us went for lunch today Christmas eve. We had pre-ordered our choices. The staff were excellent, the meals were served promptly and together, they called our names out when they brought the dishes. The meals were served hot and I must say that is probably the first time in a long while that I ordered my steak rare and it was served perfectly. When I was working we used to go there regularly for birthdays etc. but it has been a while since I have been there but after today's experience I will make sure I visit again in the near future. Many thanks to the staff for their excellent service and friendliness. After 50 plus years in the trade I am fairly critical of dining experiences but I must say this was one of the best.
