We went to visit the Kitty Café in Nottingham today as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children under 2) and had the worst experience. Right from walking in we experienced our first issue where we were told that the reservation was only for 2 people and not 4. On challenging this we were forced to prove our reservation by showing the email and they then realised it was an error from their end but no apology was given even though it was their mistake and being called out like that in front of everyone was not only embarrassing but also difficult with 2 kids who were screaming and wanting to go in. Our second issue was when we ordered drinks and food. The drinks came out together but the scones we ordered took another 15-20min which by that time we were contemplating whether to cancel the rest of the order. Again there was no apology for this. The staff just replied with "it will be out soon". The general feel of the place was very awkward and it felt as a chore for the staff to be there rather than make it a fun environment unlike the Birmingham store where they are so much more polite, fun and accommodating. The staff here are rude and we found the girl at the front desk who was dressed in purple was extremely rude and obnoxious towards us and just wanted everyone out. We were clearly leaving by putting on our jackets and getting the kids ready when one of the staff members came over to say "your time is now over so please make your way out". This is extremely rude and especially when they can clearly see that we were leaving on our own terms, we didn't need that extra push to get out. My family and I will never be returning to this store again and would recommend all to visit the Birmingham store only. There are also many more cats at the Birmingham store than here. Finding cats here is like finding a needle in a haystack. Feeling extremely disappointed by this experience which is not what anyone would expect in a place like this which is meant to be family friendly.

This place was really cute; dining with cats is certainly a unique experience you can’t get at many other places. However, we weren’t aware there was an entrance charge (we happily payed it, but it would have been nice to know beforehand). Furthermore, the food was a let-down. Whilst it looked appetising, the taste was average, and most items were overpriced. The cafe was nice for a one-off experience, but I don’t see myself coming here again.

Love this place. Nice food amongst cats, what can I say 😊 took my son for some lunch on his birthday over the Christmas period and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Reasonable prices for food and drinks, though you do pay a welfare charge which goes towards caring for the cats. I love that they're also a rescue place and will find loving homes for cats in need. We've been before and will go again.

One of the best cafes ever. Naturally you have got to be a cat lover. Spotlessly clean, considering. Wonderful staff and a great place for cats who will eventually be rehomed, rescue centre cross cafe. Worthy cause, yes I am a cat lover! You can fuss the cats who roam about freely. They have their safe places to go. On a personal note I would say that this is not a place for young children who I feel can be a bit intimidating to the more nervous cats.

Genuinely the best cat café I’ve ever been to. The double door system is well implemented, the cats have so many ledges, walkways and beds to explore and they’re very clearly well looked after. The food tasted amazing and the staff were really friendly and attentive to the allergen process. Definitely coming back again 💓

Lovely to spend time with the cats, especially the kittens. My son was absolutely in love with HobNob! In contrast, the service was pretty poor, we ordered soft drinks and food, drinks arrived promptly but the food never arrived! The staff then came to tell us to vacate the table as our time slot was coming to an end, I explained that we'd ordered food 1 hour 20 mins ago but was told there was no food ordered for our table! Was given a 10% discount on our drinks and then we left. I get that it's busy and the cats are priority, however, think they could do with some more waiting staff.

This is a great, colourful space, but was not our speed. Other cat cafes we have visited do not tend to allow young children, but this one was swarming with toddlers and under tens running around, chasing the cats and generally stressing them out. Unfortunately, there was a mix up at the till and it did didn't arrive for nearly an hour and when it did, the sandwiches were literally just a slice of cheese on smooshed bread, no mayo, butter, etc. The scones were great, but the little cheesecake bites were actually pretty vile. Go for the cats (maybe on a school day), skip the food.

I don't think I've enjoyed myself anywhere as much as I did in this cafe. In our 1 hr we ate some delicious food and spent the rest of the time running around taking photos and stroking as many kitties as possible. I left with a Kitty Café hoodie that is now my prized possession. Food was well priced and well made and the admission price was fair. Thanks for making our last days in Nottingham so lovely!

A kitty cafe is a nice idea and a good way to spend an hour if you have a well behaved child that knows how to treat animals. It becomes problematic when there are loud boisterous kids hurting the cats, so there definitely needs to be more policing of the cat’s welfare. I agree with other reviewers that say it isn’t fair on the cats as they have no quiet space and are constantly disturbed. I wouldn’t bother ordering anything as the service is super slow and it’s not the best eating environment anyway surrounded by animals.

Well, what an incredible cafe you will absolutely love it, especially if you love cats! The food was great, we had a table for two, 6 pound welfare cost per person. Which is great to help the little kitty's to be well looked after. There's about 18 cats that we seen on our trip, be careful of them near your food mind, some are little food bandits who are cheeky. However don't let this put you off, it's how cats are. Very friendly staff, couldn't do more for us. They really went above and beyond. Especially because my partner is disabled. Access is disabled friendly and they do have a disabled toilet if you ask politely. Very value for money with the food. Portion sizes was purrrrrfect. Pardon the pun. ;) I would pre-book to avoid disappointment and be sure not to be late for your timeslot. If I could work again personally I would love a job here however I can't because of my own disabilities. The experience on the whole was amazing, thank you for an amazing visit, we will be sure to come again. Keep up the good work!

A great hour, plenty of cats to be seen and played with. Love carrot cake and drink. Very worth a visit, yes you need to pay to enter but we'll worth it. Definitely worth a visit but book in advance as can get very busy

The Kitty Café in Nottingham was super cute and quirky. The staff were very polite and helpful. They would take you to your seat/table and take your order at your table too. The cats were super sweet and playful. It’s super cool that the cats have a tree house and shelving high and away from people. The only problem i had was that some of the people (non workers) were harassing some of the cats. There was one particular cat that was trying to sleep and an middle aged man was poking it. A 4-6 year old was also annoying a cat to the point it had bitten her. I did see an “animal welfare” worker once but didn’t see her again to say anything. which was disappointing. They’re some rules at the door they ask you to read once you come in so it’s a shame the public can’t read. The toilets wasn’t working either, the lock on the door didn’t lock. Apart from the lock in the bathroom everything was great on the kitty cafes part!

Great idea, poor realization. A cat cafe is supposed to be first and foremost Cat-Friendly - not people friendly. And especially not for small kids. Main purpose should be sheltering the cats and give them space and calmness. It's too noisy, too frantic, too much color and blink that aggravates cats anxiety. Otherwise staff is friendly and nice, food is not bad and served safe for the cats. And perhaps you can find a friend for life.

I haven't been here before but took my nieces for a treat. There is a charge to get in, and you only have a 1 hour stay. As it was quite busy and food took a while to arrive, the time slot was very tight, and eating felt quite rushed. However, the food was tasty and hot and reasonably priced. The cats are free to roam the cafe and are friendly and tame. The cafe is clean and doesn't smell of animals at all. Overall, we had fun and was a lovely experience and worth a visit 😊

I had a delightful experience at the kitty cafe! The cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and adorable cats made it a purrfect visit. The kitties were playful and well-cared for, adding to the charm. The cafe's menu had tasty treats too. A must-visit for cat lovers!

Our experience was amazing, food and service were very good, very friendly staff overall a nice vibe! Only one thing I must say, there should be an age restriction policy. There are a lot of kids who shout and scream and stress the cats. One poor cat was trying to sleep and this kid won’t care at all just pushing and forcing the poor cat to play. Other kids chasing the cats so the cats would have to hide therefore you don’t get to see many cats as they are terrified by the kids and try to stay away most of the time! The staff is busy with other tasks so not always aware of this behaviours and rely a lot on the parents to look after their own kids but not too many people understand that the idea of this caffès is to sit down quietly and let the cats come to you… On the other hand the cats are very well looked after feed and groomed!

Kitty Cafe Nottingham is a purr-fectly charming place that's truly one-of-a-kind! The staff here are incredibly friendly and accommodating, making your visit feel like a warm and inviting experience. They're not just attentive to the guests but also ensure the welfare of the feline residents. Speaking of the residents, spending time with the cats at Kitty Cafe is a unique and heartwarming experience. These furry friends bring a special kind of joy to your day. One piece of advice would be to consider accommodating more kittens if possible. After all, the more, the merrier! Additionally, lowering the entry price and encouraging donations could make this wonderful experience accessible to even more cat lovers while helping support the cats' needs. Lastly, a small improvement in food quality would be the icing on the cake (or should I say, the cream on the catnip?). Ensuring that both the food and the cat experience are top-notch would elevate Kitty Cafe Nottingham to even greater heights. Overall, Kitty Cafe Nottingham is a fantastic concept, and with these suggestions, it has the potential to become an even more purr-fect destination for cat enthusiasts and visitors alike! 🐾😺

1000% recommend! There were loads of cats, and some really cute kittens too. The food is so good, and very reasonably priced. Amazing atmosphere, the staff are all great too.

Fresh loose leaf tea with cakes, it certainly was an experience sitting having tea with a cat just running up to you like at home and demanding attention, as usual. The cakes were tremendous and the tea fabulous. Loved the time spent here Woody and Toffee.

Lovely place. Lots of places for the cats to escape eager hands. Staff are all friendly, food was good though difficult to eat with the sofas and coffee tables. Experience was a little much at times with lots of other people roaming around eager to touch the cats. I'd potentially suggest two separate spaces for customers to eat and then customers to be more social with the cats if they would like. Cats were lovely and it was still a nice day out.

Beautiful. Food was decently priced and delicious. Staff are super kind and relaxed. £6 entry is reasonable when it goes to rescue cats. All of them were gorgeous; I miss you Baloo ❤

Cute café with approximately 24 cats mooching about. £6 entry fee for adults, £4 for children which reserves your table for an hour. We only ordered drinks but there's a food menu which featured options for omnivores, veggies and vegans alike.

So for two years we have been trying to get into the kitty café for my birthday but COVID has prevented us from doing so. But it was worth the wait! The kitties are absolutely beautiful and well behaved. However one crafty kitty had the cheek to swipe some food off the babies high chair. To the amusement of our kids haha. Even though the café was quite obviously busy the food arrived in a good time and was of a good quality. My only disappointment would be that the lady next to me got a cat on her lap an I didn't! But that's cats isn't it! The more you want it the less likely you are to get it! Can't wait to visit again!.

I had a voucher for an afternoon tea for two. We tried to redeem in the school holidays but they don't accept them out of term time. When we arrived we were told we had to pay an entry fee on top of the voucher. I was not happy as this had cost me more than if we had just turned up. After spending 20 minutes finding the t and c's I showed the lady at the desk who confirmed eventually that I shouldn't of paid to enter. As it was so busy I agreed to speak to the manager at the end for a refund. The cats were well looked after and the layout was great but unfortunately the stress of sorting out the voucher and money had taken the enjoyment out of it.
