Now one of my favorite places in the world (after one visit!) Amazing setting and like a story setting inside. Built into the caves below Nottingham castle, gives it an amazing labyrinth feel. Every room tells a story. Three staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and didn't mind answering questions about the pub and it's history!

Always love visiting Ye Olde Trip! A fantastic place to rest for a while with a good pint, especially when the weather is nice. My friend and I spent most of the afternoon there in the garden bit, outside and decided this time to sit upstairs where the haunted Galleon rests silently in its box... what an area! If you get the chance to have a sit up there, it's definitely worth it! So much history in this place. We'd never had food here before, but will certainly be ordering again. Got the fish, chips and crushed peas which was fantastic! Fish was cooked really well, the chips were great as were the peas. I mean you can't get any better, than somewhere so full of history and character as this place. If you get the chance to stop off anytime, it's definitely worth it! And during the week it's even quieter, so a bonus! πŸ‘πŸ»

Loved this place! It sounds like a tourist trap, but the food, beer, and experience was awesome! And! You can use the Greene King app to order to your table outside to avoid any inside lines… service was quick! It was so good, we went there two nights in a row.

One of my favourite pubs to visit! A pub with a rich history and great food and drink selection. When you set foot in Ye Olde Trip it's like stepping back in time as the pub is built into the caves and the pubs decor itself has been unchanged for many years (A good thing). The pub inside is quite small and can be quite difficult to get a table at peak days, however there is seating outside at the front of the pub and at the side of the pub too depending on the weather. If you ever visit Nottingham and love your history this is the place to go!

The pub is very old and characteristic. It was built inside the caves and it's stunning inside. We had a typical British lunch: fish&chips, mac and cheese and steak pie as per pisctures attached. Plus 3 beers we have paid 50 quid. Very cozy and relaxing. Definitely a must in Nottingham.

One of the best pubs/eating places I've ever been to- a place for tourists and locals alike. Good prices too. Unmissable.

Brilliant, ancient pub in centre of Nottingham. It’s apparently the oldest inn in England (doesn’t offer room’s anymore unfortunately) it’s a green king pub (wranglings over the upkeep of building and fallings out) but you wouldn’t know, it’s got more of a free house vibe. Lots of rooms to explore. Some of building built into the stone. About 4 ales on and serves food. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a grade 2 listed building so Character and ambience in abundance!!! Apparently haunted. Most highly recommended 🍻 πŸ‘»

Lovely historic pub embedded into Castle walls.Told its haunted. Lots of rooms/alcoves. Must be good food as all tables booked on the Sunday. Definitely worth the" Trip to Jeruselem" ;-) been couple of times when on detached duty in Nottingham.

Without a doubt, one of the best pubs I have ever had the fortune to visit. It's an absolute stunning pub. You feel the history drinking here. Excellent selection of beers and very friendly staff members. Highly recommended, and if you are in Nottingham, make sure you visit. You will not be disappointed.

Very interesting and unique pub. Loved it 🀩 built into the caves it's completely safe, unusual and quirky. A labyrinth of various little rooms. Plenty of old pictures and the famous The Cursed Galleon ship. Pretty much hear everyone 's conversation if rooms not full. Very relaxed and easy going. Had a meal - chicken wings and fries which were delicious. Plenty of outdoor seating. And if you're popping in for a hour there's parking just up the road - £2.40 per hour. Service and staff was friendly and polite. Definitely recommend. It's a great venue to visit.

One of the oldest pubs in England. Interesting place in a great location with plenty of seating both indoors and out. The selection is what your expect from a pub. The quality is fine and the meals are filling. I didn't like that not all the ingredients are listed on the menu. For example, aioli, mayonnaise and other condiments are not listed under the burger contents next to the cheese, onions, etc. As someone with a food intolerance and a knack for avoiding conflict, it meant I didn't even get to eat my meal. Please list all the contents of the dish!!! The garlic bread was absolutely delicious, as was the pie.

It was very nice. The pub is so authentic and well organized with the seating. It is quite spacious even though it fees a bit crammed walking around once you sit it feels spacious and nice. We had fries and onion rings they were pretty delicious as well and the menu has a huge selection of everything (vegan, gluten free etc.) the beer was also amazing. Overall, loved the place and the vibes.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Already been here twice in a week! Being an Indian and vegetarian in United Kingdom, I was unable to find food according to my taste preferences. I used to find everything bland, even food from fast food restaurants. But this place completely flipped my mind. The food is brilliant. We ordered a loaded nachos, vegan burger, vegetarian mac and cheese, garlic breads, and onion rings. The burger was so flavourful. It had caramelised onions, a thick cutlet, salad and sauces. The mac and cheese is the best one I’ve ever had. You can try it with the garlic breads because that is a superb combination. The onion rings are as crisp as autumn leaves. Nachos are very unique and simply delicious. Apart from the food, the whole vibe of the place is to die for. The interiors are gorgeous. The staff and service is a 10/10. The place is pet friendly! I highly recommend Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem.

Brilliant! More: This is the most atmospheric, fascinating pub I can remember visiting in the last decade. The building, the exterior situation, the curio packed multi level interior, the excellent kept, eclectic range of beers, the hoop and horn game, the pristine loos and oh the history of it all! Its better than brilliant - just sensational and well worth all the hype! I'll be back...repeatedly. But only at mid day when its sunny and quiet. Wouldn't want to spoilt the atmosphere!

Easy to park & get about for disabled, lovely, helpful & informative staff, husband says the beer is excellent & the food looked great too! No cash transactions, smallish loo, ground floor is fully accessible but rooms are built into the rock of Nottingham Castle & used to be prison cells, so smallish but very old, & first used in 1189! Historic, interesting & lots of fun!

Wonderfully historic, full of curiosities, building. You are dining in amongst the castle rock caves. Service is wonderful. We had a roast. It wasn't the best or the worst; food did not match the marvel of the surroundings. Still worth a visit.

What a fantastic pub it is a must visit place to sit in the bar carved out of the rock face where knight's sat over 800 years ago before setting off on crusades. Also great ales and fayre all served by cheerful friendly staff.

Nice beer and great food. Steak and kidney pudding with superb triple cooked chips. Nice to see bed dripping still in use here 😁 Must book table in advance as very popular.

One of a kind? Rooms carved out of the cliff. Greene King pub so you know what you ate getting in terms of food & beer. But the building itself is amazing. I'm guessing it's far from the oldest pub in England though!!

A great historical venue! The staff is very friendly and the selection of beer is just great. As you enter the pub you can sense the atmosphere full of joy and laughter, as the single small rooms soon capture the mood (especially the Wardens Room). Also you can play an old pub game called 'Ringing the Bull' - it only took me two attempts to succeed. How man will you need?

It was lovely - the bar itself, the history, the location, and the service. We enjoyed the food while sitting under the shade of a large tree just outside the house and taking in the atmosphere. One thing though: we don’t really recommend their steak. It was too tough.

Stunning pub with an enormously rich heritage, built into the foundation Nottingham Castle. Gets quite busy, but has a large terrace in front for extra space. Food options were limited on the day we went, and the food was just ok. It's a small space, which I think slowed down service as well

Tasted as the oldest pub in England (albeit there are a few other contenders), the pub dates back to the times of the Crusades. Nested within the Caves under Nottingham Castle it is steeped in history. A must stop for anyone visiting Nottingham. An excellent selection of real Ales on offer. It does get busy at times though.

My husband said that this is the highlights on our trip to Nottingham. We will definitely comeback here! The pub is actually a cave which is amazing and the foods are fantastic. It was quite busy when we dine here but the service was still quick. I recommend advance booking as I think this pub is always packed.

A must see in Nottingham - so we did. We had a few sandwiches and a couple of pints. Bar keep was friendly. Food was just ok and side of chips was small. It was a labyrinth of rooms - probably 5 or so - on various levels. We sat in 1st room. Small, dark and a bit cramped. Lots of outdoor space but of course it was raining. Good history. No need to go back.

Nice old pub with plenty of history. Won’t be disappointed worth a visit. Food you get what you pay for. The pub itself is very fascinating and also has great architecture along with many parts telling a thousand stories. Great spot for Bikers I found too.

It is dubbed as England's oldest inn and host a small yet pique public bar beneath the cliff on which Nottingham's historic castle stands. As the name of the public bar tells us, it claims to be a well-known water hole for the crusaders leaving Nottingham to the middle east, at least during the 12th up to the 14th century. The inn itself traces its establishment to the year 1189. Currently, the public bar is still operating. It would be relaxing to sip a well-casked ale or downing a good shot of whiskey. The ambience and experience are just right, if you are in it too. You may enjoy the interior of the public bar, and even meet the house-ghost.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
